  1. *slow clap*
  2. I, for one, we should give the new administration time. We're only in Hour Two or Three!
  3. Well, I am willing to suck up and make amends with Leena. If not for my own good than for the good of General Wrestling. Besides I don't think we've had any direct issues with each other- just misunderstandings.
  4. Listen- I don't care about being banned honestly. I can always move on to Wrestling Classics or another board dedicated to old school wrestling. I'm just afraid of what will happen to my General Wrestling brethren if I get shit canned. Diamonddust and MilleniumMan831 will be crushed and demoralized if you get rid of me and my half dozen running threads there. If you eliminate me, you eliminate the heart and soul of the third most active wrestling folder. Like I said, make the choice. I can take myself being banned but I don't know if mellowblissful and Invader3k can!
  5. But seriously as I said in the other thread- I heard second hand that you said I was good at wrestling. I feel like I had a hand at reviving General Wrestling, which is regarded as probably the best of the wrestling folders. I also try to do my best to avoid internet beef.

    Hrmph.

I remember hearing secondhand that you said I was good at wrestling discussion. I'd like to think I played a prominent role in reviving General Wrestling and making it a good place for semi-intelligent discussion.
  7. Man- why do I get the feeling that we're all being punk'd? Please don't ban me!
  8. Thanks to the wonderful Graham Cawthon, I can pinpoint the exact date and some of the results of my first show. His website is truly a gift from the wrestling gods. WWF @ Portland, ME - Civic Center - August 17, 1994 (3,596) WWF Superstars taping: Lex Luger defeated Ted Dibiase's Undertaker via disqualification when Bam Bam Bigelow interfered as Luger had his opponent in the torture rack Tatanka pinned IRS WWF World Champion Bret Hart pinned Owen Hart at 13:50 with a roll up in a lumberjack match; lumberjacks included: Jim Neidhart, 1-2-3 Kid, Jeff Jarrett, Billy & Bart Gunn, the Headshrinkers, the Heavenly Bodies, Kwang, Well Dunn, & Kwang; the challenger had originally won the match and title at 3:06 after Jim Neidhart interfered as Owen was caught in the Sharpshooter and clotheslined the champion - however several of the lumberjacks and other officials had the finish replayed on the big screen so the referee could see what had happened; the match was ordered to continue (Wham Bam Bodyslam) 9/3/94: Bob Backlund defeated Bert Centeno via submission with the Crossface Chicken Wing Owen Hart (w/ Jim Neidhart) defeated Scott Taylor The Smoking Gunns fought the Heavenly Bodies to a no contest at the 48 second mark when the Gunns were attacked before they could get their gear off, with the Bodies briefly wearing their cowboy hats until a brawl errupted on the floor and officials had to seperate the teams The 1-2-3 Kid defeated Roy Raymond IRS defeated Phil Apollo 9/10/94: Shawn Michaels & WWF IC Champion Diesel defeated Tom O'Sullivan & Nick Barberri Jim Neidhart (w/ Owen Hart) defeated Mike Maliacia Doink the Clown defeated the Black Phantom Bam Bam Bigelow (w/ Ted DiBiase) fought Tony Roy to a no contest after attacking him before the bell; Dibiase then complained about the lack of competition for Bigelow and issued an open challenge for anyone to fight him; Adam Bomb then came out and he and Bigelow briefly fought, with Bomb eventually clotheslining Bigelow to the floor WWF Tag Team Champions the Headshrinkers (w/ Afa) defeated Mike Bell & Tony Devito (aired after they lost the titles) Yokozuna defeated Steve King 9/17/94: The Bushwhackers defeated Well Dunn (w/ Harvey Whippleman) Jeff Jarrett defeated Phil Apollo via submission with the figure-4 The Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) pinned Tony DeVito with the tombstone Kwang (w/ Harvey Whippleman) pinned Scott Taylor Bob Holly pinned Iron Mike Sharpe with a flying bodypress Bob Backlund defeated Tony Roy via submission with the Crossface Chicken Wing Being six at the time, I don't remember much. I remember The Bret Hart-Owen Hart Lumberjack match fairly well and I marked out like crazy when I saw it a year or so later on the Coliseum Video, Wham! Bam! Bodyslam! Other than that, I don't remember much. I remember being impressed that The Undertaker made an appearance, seeing how he was supposed to make his return at SummerSlam two weeks or so later. I also was really impressed reading the program that Bob Backlund was forty five years old and then seeing him beat some jobber (This was shortly before his heel turn). Lex Luger Vs The Fake Undertaker main evented the show and I vaguely remember that as well. BEST MAIN EVENT EVER!!! I had no idea if I knew this show would be a syndicated TV taping before hand or not, all I know is my Dad was pissed over how long the show was. I'm surprised that he took us to another show after that but he did several times over (The next was another WWF show- a house show this time in July '96). He's such a trooper.
  9. OK---usually I'd be starting a TSM Profile around now and I may do that later this weekend but since this has been getting some discussion in the WWF/E tidbits thread, I figured it warranted its own "Let's Talk About..." thread. That and we haven't had one of these in a while. I have very mixed feelings about his run so let's bust out The Pros and Cons Pros At this stage in his career, this was probably the best position for Dusty to be in. He was long past his expiration date as a believable main eventer but I totally bought him as a fun-loving mid carder. Great opponents. I don't really get the knock that WWF buried Dusty. Yeah, sure, he wasn't main eventing but would the WWF fans have bought him as a force to be recokened with alongside Warrior and The Hulkster? Absolutely not. He wasn't the type of guy that main evented WWF shows in 1990. He did remarkably well on the national stage, given the circumstances (he was fat and extremely Southern...not to mention the lisp!). It seemed like all of the guys he feuded with in WWF (The Big Bossman, "Macho King" Randy Savage, Ted DiBiase) were guys that had just gotten done feuding with Hogan or had feuded with him at some point or another. Not a bad position to be in at all. While Dusty wasn't a very good worker at this stage, he was still a smart one and his opponents were perfect for his style at the time. While not workrate classics by any stretch of the imagination, I can't watch one of his matches with Savage or DiBiase and not be at least somewhat entertained. In fact, I'd take any of those matches with Savage over any of the matches in his far more famous series with Ric Flair. The unintentional comedy! Four words; Ultimate Wayuh Thuck Cup Cons The yellow polka dots! It's weird that something as simple as a ring outfit can be used as the most damning evidence for a company burying the company but I think that's the case here. If it weren't for the polka dots and Sapphire, I think Dusty's WWF run would be remembered as a decent but unspectacular coda to a career that was quite a few years past its prime. I mean, seriously, why polka dots? Sapphire. Really, what exactly did she bring to the table? She couldn't wrestle, she didn't have any discernible charisma, she certainly wasn't good looking. I guess it was supposed to help Dusty's reputation as a common man that his valet was a dumpy looking, middle aged black chick but really did he need any more help in being believable as any average joe? Too goofy---ties into the other ones. Even by '80s/early '90s WWF standards, The American Dream gimmick seemed a bit too goofy. He was far too fun loving and wacky for me to take seriously as a mark. Then again...maybe that was the intention. Anyways---share your thoughts on the final chapter in the American Dream's in-ring career.
  10. Eh...Czech's right. I should probably quit posting in No Holds Barred. I only seem to post there when it's really shitty and it's soiling my semi-decent reputation.
  11. Chelsea Handler was a lot more appealing before I found it she was only in her early-mid thirties. I thought she was a really hot forty something, now I find out she's just a pretty good looking thirty something! My brother and I are locked in an eternal argument over The Soup. He theorizes that it's a show with good writing but a terrible host, I theorize that it's a show with terrible writing but a good host. Really though, The E! Network peaked about ten years ago when it had Coming Attractions, Talk Soup, and E! True Hollywood Story profiled people like Lobster Boy, porn stars, Corey Haim, and Scotty Schwarz (best/most depressing episode ever!). Now they just seem to profile people who are actually Hollywood stars....boring!
  12. Really? He was always the guy I identified as the face of the SNL of my adolescence. I guess it was more of an ensemble though. SNL from the time Ferrell left till '05-'06 was easily my least favorite era of the show. But yeah to get back on topic- uh yeah, Joaquin is working us. I'm curious as to how long it'll last though. I guess until the documentary comes out.
  13. I don't know, Brody seems like a bit of a marshmallow. Could be totally wrong though. Brody's got to go for the early knockout, the longer the match goes, the less I like his chances.
  14. I thought he wasn't bad in his first two seasons or so on SNL, he's a decent impressionist (or at least was) but once Will Ferrell left and he became "the guy" on that show, he jumped the shark. I really don't have high hopes for his Late Night either but...uh....at least The Roots should make a good house band.
  15. This should give you a good hint of who I suspect stormy is.
  16. Banky Vs Gary Floyd ranks way down there with me Vs Amnesia Glasscock in terms of least exciting potential TSM feuds. And that's saying something since I don't want to see any TSM feuds at this point (I'm still hoping to recapture the era of unity me and KOAB helped usher in last week)
  17. You got it. $1.99 a minute. Ask your parents for permission before you call, Bob.
  18. I heard from a prominent TSMer that Stormy might be a TSM legend incognito. Which one? Well you'll just have to call my hotline.
  19. Don't know if I've done this before but even if I have, it was a while ago and opinions have changed since so here it is--- Five Favorite Springsteen Albums 5. Hammersmith Odeon '75 (Sometimes I count live albums, sometimes I don't...I'll make an exception for Bruce) 4. Nebraska 3. Darkness on The Edge of Town 2. Born To Run 1. The Wild, The Innocent, and The E Street Shuffle
  20. I was surprised to learn tonight during a phone conversation with a good friend that I still find anti Barney humor hilarious. I haven't thought of the purple bastard in years but the inner eight year old tells me that the idea of inflicting pain on him is still chuckle worthy.
  21. Damn it, this isn't on Netflix yet. They're weird with WWE DVDs. Sometimes, they're on there right away and sometimes it takes a few years (The AWA one just got added). I'd love to see this but I'm a broke ass college student.

    EHME

Yo Maz- you want to take the late EHME's spot in The King Kamala Krew? We need one oppressed minority to replace another, yo! Yes, the white boy from Utah. I'm a total minority. I was going to be the Owen Hart. My caucasian grandfather was technically born in Mexico, so the cholos in high school left me alone. Close enough? You're Mormon though, right? Close enough. Replacing an ethnic minority with a religious minority, ya dig?
  23. I don't know if I've pointed it out or not but if I were in charge of the board I'd ban anyone who ever annoyed me here at one point or another. This would eliminate basically everybody except maybe Venkman. I think we should ban bob_barron just so we would guaranteed to have no one complain about bannings.
  24. Is there any excuse for Marvin not to get banned if he wins Worst Poster two years in a row?
  25. Looks like someone still has sand in their vagina over only getting three votes in the first round of the poster tournament this year!
