  1. Yeah, I think first half of '94 was the last decent era for tag teams until '00 or so. There was almost always one or two decent teams in the division but on the whole, the division sucked for the better half of the '90s. I loved The New Age Outlaws but almost every team they went up against in their heyday was either mediocre, way past their prime (*coughLODcough*) or a makeshift combo.
  2. Wait- Uwe Boll has a doctorate!?!? *checks Dr. Internet* Well I'll be damned
  3. Yeah, I admit that nostalgia explains my love of late '90s pop. But I admit that Top 40 radio of 1999 doesn't have shit on the Top 40 radio of 1979 or perhaps even 1989.
  4. I just found out a week ago that Seals and Crofts career went in the can after they did a pro-life song, sung from the perspective of a fetus. Odd.
  5. PSYCHE! I bet you fags were all cryin' and shit. Thinking I was really going to off myself. Hahahahah pusssies.
  6. Guys, I'm going to kill myself. I really just can't take all of this bullshit anymore. We're all just fucking drops of water in an endless sea. Leaves blowing on a windy day. I feel so worthless. I can't go on. Fuck this shit.
  7. I've always liked Odenkirk more than Cross too. But I have to wonder how such a funny guy can direct two of the most poorly regarded comedies of this decade. Rarely have I seen a cast as comically gifted as The Brothers Solomon's put on such a mediocre movie. Though at least that one had a few chuckle worthy moments which Let's Go To Prison did not.
  8. You know what? I'll agree with Czech. I think mainstream music as a whole was a lot worse back than it is now but '99-'00 were the last decent years for Top 40 radio for me.
  9. I'm just upset I didn't get a chance to see Proud American
  10. Clearly, I should have been picked for a moderator spot.
  11. Saw Burn After Reading the other day. Don't really have much to see other than I'm glad to see The Coens followed their best drama of this decade with their best comedy of the decade. Pitt and Clooney both really should do more comedy.
  12. I'm in full support of posters getting banned for sucking but there has to be some sort of precedent. Deon should have been that precedent. I mean does anybody like his posts? Christ, even Marvin and EHME at their worst had their share of defenders.
  13. Wow I guess I underestimated Samuel L. Jackson's drawing power. Like Bob, I was sure My Best Friend's Girl would be #1. I'm glad to say I was wrong. Now can Hollywood stop thinking Dane Cook is a box office draw?
  14. 5 Worst Teenage Cover Bands Man oh man, does this bring me back to middle school and high school talent shows. I'm just glad YouTube was still a year or two away when I was doing 'em.
  15. Actually, The Yeti appeared at least one other match (The first World War III battle royal). Inexplicably, they changed his ring attire from a mummy to a giant ninja. Why couldn't they have dressed him in a white furry suit and just had him be an actual yeti?
  16. I think my second favorite Rumble is '90. Lot of great stuff in that one. DiBiase coming in at #1 the year after he bought the #30 slot. The segment with him, Jake Roberts, Randy Savage, and Roddy Piper, Warrior and Hogan's epic showdown. You know Bushwhackers matches did suck goat testicles but it seems like no matter if it was Heenan or Ventura- the commentary for their matches were always top notch. Even as a mark- I could see the announcers were kind of admitting those matches sucked. Yet I still liked The Bushwhackers.
  17. Well, all of those guys (except Bret) had undercard matches that night and this was before the lean years where they put guys on the undercard in The Rumble. You could argue that Piper was both on the undercard and in the Rumble but he was a last minute replacement in the IC title match and was already scheduled to do The Rumble.
  18. I'm twenty years old and have never been to a wedding. Is that odd? All of my older cousins that had kids decided to live in sin and I don't see any of my siblings or friends getting married anytime in the next couple years.
  19. I may be in the minority but I'd like this thread to be a regular one. Friendly suggestion though, why don't we make it like the Let's Talk About...threads in General Wrestling and have a different person each week start the discussion?
  20. Yeah but what the hell else is coming out? I don't think Lakeview Terrace or Ghost Town have enough appeal and Igor hasn't been shilled enough for them to take the #1 spot. I don't see Burn After Reading coming on top again. And I think they're banking more on the combination of Biggs and Cook plus Kate Hudson is what they're banking on.
  21. If it wasn't for KFC/Taco Bells, there wouldn't be any Taco Bells within an ninety minute drive for me. It's odd because we have a lot of standalone KFCs. What's the need for half of a KFC?
  22. I really liked the Federationized version of Kerry Von Erich Vs Ric Flair. I guess it's a testament to Flair's skills that he was able to carry an extremely washed up Texas Tornado to a good match. Semi off topic- but let me talk about Royal Rumble '93 for a second. I always thought that the first part of the Rumble was actually really good but then it just died after Giant Gonzalez lumbered in out of nowhere and eliminated the 'Taker. Looking at the roster of '92 and '93's- it's kind of shocking how depleted the WWF roster became in one year.
  23. I don't see how Aerosmith is not sufficiently mainstream. But a discussion on Foreigner's 4 would liven up this board. Does it showcase a band at the height of their powers or the beginning of the end? Or both?
  24. I'm going to pick one last arena to host TV tapings and house shows. This is a decent mid-sized arena with a solid atmosphere. It played host to the '93 Royal Rumble and Judgment Day in '01. Of course I'm talking about... ...Arco Arena in Sacramento, California
  25. Hey, any of you guys seen Shotgun Stories? It came out a couple months ago and played major cities. I got it from NetFlix based on Ebert's **** review. It's about a blood feud between two sets of half brothers in rural Arkansas following the death of their father. It's part revenge thriller and part dryass comedy. The only semi-recognizable person in this is Michael Shannon and it's produced by David Gordon Green. I have a feeling that Milkhawk in particular would enjoy this one.
