Quoted for truth. That was one of my favorites of last year. I saw Drillbit Taylor today. Surprisingly, I kind of liked it. Maybe it was just because I had really low expectations and it was basically Superbad Jr with a homelesss con-man wandering through but I thought it was a fun throwback to PG/PG-13 80s teen comedies.

Questions from a Wrestling Fan 10 Years Ago
King Kamala replied to Diamonddust's topic in General Wrestling
Funk hasn't wrestled a match since One Night Stand in June '06 but is coming back for the XPW reunion in May. The man will never retire. -

I hate to bump up an old thread but I maintain this folder needs a CTDWAT. And the following comment that doesn't warrant a thread. Anyways, is it just me or has WrestleCrap gone downhill? Or was it not all that funny to begin with and I just liked it because I was a 14 year old who had just smartened up and liked the references to obscure crappy gimmicks? I'd like to think its the former but I can't remember the last time I laughed aloud at something on there. Today's induction is particularly bad. Now I'm not saying that the WrestleMania VII instant replay is undeserving of an induction but in the article RD says and I quote "This fiasco took place at WrestleMania VII, which, by almost all calculations, was one of the worst WrestleManias in history". Huh? Sure it has some shitty stuff on there but I can't think of anybody else who thinks it's anywhere near one of the worst. It just reminded me of the thread edgehead69 made last year where he said that we all can agree WrestleMania XXIII is the worst WrestleMania ever. The point is, my fellow Smart Marks, is don't make contentious statements and try to pass them off as consensus. Or else I'll have to bump up a year old thread. -

Why the hell wasn't this Oldschool fella nominated for the Worst Poster tournament? The guy may be the most oblivious poster we have on this board. And that's saying something since we also have Marvin and Jericholic82. He just seems to come here and create a terrible thread every 2-3 weeks. -
TSM Town Hall: Legacy of a Great Match at Mania
King Kamala replied to Dandy's topic in The WWE Folder
I was going to mention that match but the match with Hogan at Survivor Series '91 really made 'Taker. The match with Roberts cemented it. A match that isn't talked about in terms of someone getting made is the WrestleMania IV battle royal with Bret Hart. Sure, Hart didn't even become a full-time singles wrestler for another three years but it definitely planted the seeds of his solo success and showed who was the leader of the Hart Foundation. -
608. I hate to bump up this thread again after the extensive clean up that Cheech has led over the past day and a half or so but the Benoit debate rearing its ugly head again in the DVD thread (of all places) has forced me to.

Though I have a spot in my heart for all of them (Even Jeff Lynne!). The answer is obviously Dylan. George Harrison is a one album wonder, Tom Petty is more of a singles artist, don't know enough about Orbinson, and ELO has had more than its fair share of tripe. Dylan has at least four undisputed classic albums. I'm not sure if any of the other members have two. Or are we talking just about their work with The Wilburys?

TSM Town Hall: Legacy of a Great Match at Mania
King Kamala replied to Dandy's topic in The WWE Folder
1. Which wrestler has had the most memorable Mania matches for you? Without a doubt, it's Shawn Michaels. Correct me if I'm wrong but IMO, he's the only guy who's wrestled at a significant amount of Manias that hasn't had a single bad match at one of them. In fact, there isn't a match he's had there that wasn't at least pretty good. Plus he's been a part of six significant matches in WrestleMania folklore (The ladder match at WrestleMania X, the Iron Man match at WrestleMania XII, Main Event with Austin at XIV, match with Jericho at XIX, Triple Threat at WrestleMania XX, match with Angle at XXI). Has anyone been "made" from a WrestleMania match? If so, whom? Certainly, Austin at WrestleMania XIII is the most obvious one that comes to mind. What match do you think of first when you think of a big Mania match? Without a doubt, Hogan/Andre. Even before I started watching, I knew about that match. Still possibly the most famous match in U.S. wrestling history. How important is a memorable entrance for a match at Mania? How much does that add to the feel of the match? I agree with foleyfanforever88, a plus but not a neccessity. Who had the best entrance that added to the feel of the match? There have been many cool entrances over the years at WM but the one I believe added the most to the match was Warrior's at WrestleMania VII. The runner up is anybody who used the ring carts at WrestleMania III and VI. If they brought those back, I'd mark out harder than I have in years. -
His name is jericholic82, Venk.

Federation Era: WrestleMania III (Yeah- this is kind of a two match show but the whole card has an unbelieveable energy and atmosphere to it that makes even the forgettable matches incredibly watchable) Attitude Era: WrestleMania X-7 Current era: WrestleMania XX

My house show thread in June '06 only got 16 replies and it had Batista's return But yeah IMO house show reports deserve their own threads. I like 'em for some reason.

Excuse me moderators, I have a suggestion. I'm not sure how to articulate this but I think it'd be a smart idea to allow discussion of WWF/E from 2000 on. The "five year rule" for old school wrestling IMO is downright stupid. Does anybody think anything that happened in this decade is old school? And it allows for more topics like Dandy's TSM town hall about the Triple H/Kurt Angle/Stephanie angle.

I'm in no way supporting bringing Leena back however if we do decide to bring her back, we should bring her back for good. She's had too many second chances. It's time for TSM to go one way or the other. I'm not sure if that made any sense whatsoever. As for Dama, I say bring him back but keep him on a short leash. I don't really care one way or another about the rest.

I'll believe it when I see it. The whole fake cast list just seems fake. Elizabeth Banks as Laura!?

C-Bacon? Centrist. Bwahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahaha. I just hope it's not Nightwing. Guy seemed too good for the CE folder and then he seemingly disappeared.

Let's face facts, folks- as great of a match as it would have been- Bret Hart Vs Randy Savage circa '93 probably wouldn't have drawn much better (if at all) than Yokozuna/Bret. And this thread is further proof to my theory that bad WrestleManias are way more interesting to talk about than good ones. This thread may be on its way to four pages and I'm not sure if the thread we had a while back about X-7 even got to two.

This cracked me up for some reason. Oh Deon, the ghetto Dave Meltzer.

My wild (perhaps hillariously innacurate) guess is kkktookmybabyaway

I maintain that Yokozuna is one of the most underrated big men of all time. I'm talking about '93/'94 Yokozuna not 700 pound Yokozuna from Heroes of Wrestling and his last year or so in the WWF. I don't think his feuds were booked all that well outside of the one with Jim Duggan. Like I've said before, does anybody remember any noticable events from his feud with Bret Hart? And that main evented two WrestleManias!

To be perfectly honest, it was just a wild guess. I was thisclose to guessing CanadianGuitarist.

Not related but I lost to a girl in an arm wrestling match once. To be fair, it was a strong girl. Her nickname was the Barbarian!
