  1. Sometimes, whenever Austin would have a dueling promo with either the Hart Foundation or Shawn Michaels, I'd call some wrestling fan buddies and tell them to turn it on. Let's face it though, the main event scene in 1997 eclipses that of today's. I think the reason for Eddy's connection to the fans is because he "lies, cheats, steals" and he has a good ability to show what his true emotions are.
  2. Jericho/Rock? Jericho/Michaels? HHH/HBK? Those have been after Austin/Rock and have all been handled just as well, if not better. Jericho/Michaels had the wrong guy winning and HHH/HBK wasn't the right feud at the right time, but as far as the execution of the feuds, they've all been good. Jericho/HBK happened during the same time Austin and Rock began feuding again leading into WM XIX. Triple H/HBK is a decent feud, but it seems like they feud whenever Triple H wants to re-establish the fact that he can still work when he wants to against an opponent of his choosing. Austin and Rock have had a great feud, and when both came back, it was still booked well (especially their last match). Add to that the fact that Shawn (the wrong guy) went over Jericho, when it seemed to point that Jericho was going to go over his life-long idol.
  3. There hasn't been a well-booked feud since Austin/Rock (the only feud the WWE never seems to screw up horribly). I can't see Edge and Triple H feuding because Edge simply thought Triple H was responsible for No Way Out 2003. It doesn't make sense........alright now I see it happening.
  4. Eddy always had the ability to be a ratings draw, and now he's proving it.
  5. Rock/Hogan I, match wise, sucked balls. The nostalgia factor grabbed everyone by the balls and somehow popped out ***+.
  6. I could see Booker T making a quick impact in the beginning, but used as fodder for (perhaps) Angle to regain his heat if he loses to Eddy.
  7. Keith is retarded, Brock/Eddy>Royal Rumble, even if it was a Benoit win.
  8. MSG has not been very kind to Shawn Michaels over the years (Recalls the Sid/HBK match, how Michaels was booed).
  9. This match would most likely blow. I like Cena but he, in no way, has the ability to carry anyone, let alone Randy Orton.
  10. So far, everytime Angle and Cena cross paths, there is always a lot of heat between the two, and from the crowd. The last feud was bad, but produced a very good match (didn't Angle have the book for it?). I don't think that if or when Angle loses to Eddie, he'll just begin feuding with a U.S. Champion Cena.
  11. Yet if Cena is moving up and Angle loses a title feud with Eddy Guerrero, it does make sense. Cena meets Angle on the way down and Angle meets Cena on the way up. True, however, do they feud? And if they do, is it for the U.S. Title (a belt that is perfect for Cena yet below Angle in a way)? Or would it just be a feud to continue the one they had in October (and the friction they've had over the past few weeks)?
  12. It is a big problem in the business today, because with scripted promos, like Papacita said, the script does not come straight from the character of the worker usually, and they come of as completely uncharismatic. I believe Cena gets to do his own material when he raps, and look where that's taking him. They need to just go over what the main guidelines are, and have the wrestlers try and improvise the details as to how to get those guidelines over. At least that way they'll feel more comfortable on camera, and perhaps they'll get the storyline, and themselves, over.
  13. It'd be nice to see a fresh face on the Smackdown side of things. With Edge's rumored Raw jump, Smackdown could definitely use another wrestler who is over.
  14. Assuming Cena wins at WM (the U.S. Title), Angle would be above Cena in terms of card placement. Angle would be in the WWE World Title match, and for him to move down to feud with Cena would make no sense. Alright, I can see it happening now.
  15. True, but it was hilarious seeing the Rock's pissed off expression after the botched finish by Hebner.
  16. What I want to know is, why are Cena and Angle being paired as a Tag Team? I remember reading about how Angle said that he and Cena would be tag team champs in 2004, while he was speaking at a University. I think that would be a weird idea, considering Angle is turning heel, and Cena is still a face going after the U.S. Title. Other than them both wanting their respective titles, there's really no reason to pair them together. I guess they might be going for the "upper carders who don't like each other but coexist" card.
  17. No Way Out 2001, when Hebner (I think) didn't count to three for the Rock bottom finish, and Rock looked legit pissed and had to do the Rock Bottom again to finally get the pinfall.
  18. With the assets that they have at their disposal (the talent, marketing machine) they could be doing SO much better.
  19. Other than possibly Nova, the WWE has plenty of talent to elevate or put in the spotlight. I'm kind of tired about hearing them "bringing____in". It's almost as if they are not even confident in themselves of bring the ratings up again.
  20. The highest I go is a six. Brock/Eddy- ****1/4 (Excellent) Angle/Cena/Show- **3/4 (Solid, fun) Rey Jr./Chavito- ***3/4 (Very good) TWGTTP/APA- ** (Decent) Holly/Rhyno- *1/2 (Meh..) Scotty/Rikishi vs. Bashams- *3/4 (A bit slow, but not too bad) Noble/Nidia- 1/2* (Booked fine, wasn't too stupid)
  21. WWE booking killed them, and they have not been heel in forever. Both Raw and Smackdown have horrible Tag Divisions, and yet the WWE does nothing with the Dudleyz (who could be a very over team again).
  22. Well they have to continue to build the grandiose Undertaker titantron vs. Kane match at WM XX.
  23. The wrestlers have almost no say in their own direction and the established stars have not moved on from the WWE to pursue other things (a la Hogan, Nash, Hall going to WCW), and they're not forced to push the newer and fresher talent. In the mid-90s, Vince saw the ratings tank, but don't forget that there was NO ONE else to push besides Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and a bit later, Steve Austin. Once Austin, Taker, Shawn, and Foley are completely out of the picture (no way Triple H is leaving soon), then Vince will amp up the pushes of guys like Benoit, Guerrero, Cena, & Brock.
  24. The match that has been called "The Summerslam Shitfest"? 1/2*, at the most. They can throw the two big IC title ladder matches on there. I concur. I don't want to shit on RVD, but he kind of sucks. I also think Cena doesn't need or deserve a DVD right now, so early in his career. Cena should not be overhyped, and RVD's matches should not be watched repeatedly.
