Am I the only one who thinks that Bret/Shawn (WM XII) is going to get the "greatest 'mania match ever" slot?
-
Brock/Eddy- Eddy wins with the frogsplash after Brock talks too much trash to Goldberg. Goldy hits his moves on Brock afterwards and it sets up WM XX. (Rating: ****, great participants and no reason this shouldn't steal the show) Angle/Show/Cena- Angle wins by pinning Cena, since Show is hellbent on screwing Cena over in his matches the past month and a half. Sets up Angle going for Eddy, and Cena vs. Show at WM XX.(Rating: ***, giving it the benefit of the doubt) Misterio Jr. vs. Chavito Jr.- Very tough call, I'm going to be unconventional and go with Chavito, because after losing clean to Eddy (basically embarassed), he could use a win.(Rating: ***3/4, it'll get more time than usual, but still not enough, interference will hurt it) Too Cool vs. Basham Brothers- Don't really care, but Too Cool retains.(Rating: *1/2, if they have a good day) Jamie Knoble vs. Nidia- Ummmm, Nidia gets a stupid DQ or something for the win.(Rating: DUD) APA vs. World's Greatest Tag Team- TWGTT pulls out a win, goes for the Tag Gold, because there is NO other very credible (or deserving) team out there (besides London/Spanky).(Rating: **, on a good day) Possible Holly vs. Rhyno- Ewww. No need for this to happen.(Rating: 3/4*, no comment)

He's probably the WWE's hottest star right now, and making him look like a secondary, Tag Team player will hurt him. I'm not claiming that he's a godsend in the ring, but he sells very well, has natural in-ring charisma, doesn't blow spots, and can always keep the crowd in the match. He does have a lot to improve though (timing, pacing, psychology), but he can only get better, as he has the past year. I think that the three-way can be surprisingly solid if they book it not short, but just long enough where each participant can focus on his strengths.
-
Exactly. It's much harder to get cheers than boos, especially in modern WWE. Good babyfaces are even more of a rarity than good heels. All of the best babyfaces were once excellent heels. When you are that great at rousing up a crowd, people start to like you (see: Austin, Steve; Cena, John; Rock, The).

The cover would've been more complete if they had the chain around Cena, with an intense look.

Introducing first, weighing in at 328lbs., KAAAANE!!! And his opponent, weighing in at 1,268lbs. the UNDERTAKER TITANTRON!!

Way too early for a DVD. I can understand them trying to capitalize on his popularity, but they don't realize that he has A LOT of time to rise even further. If they waited another year for Cena to have more good matches (not many on the DVD), it would've been better.

I just want to know if there's a website where I can download the current WWE themes. Thanks in advance.

I tend to agree with Choken. It doesn't seem like it's shaping up to be an instant classic, but it can be solid if done right, and the matches (that can actually be good: Main Event, Three-way, Cruiser) are given adequate time. If Brock/Eddy is given 35+ minutes, then it'll definitely be an excellent match. The three-way, I'm not sure, because it might be overbooked and there could be stalling. If they book to the strengths of the participants, it could be a surprise match. If the Cruiserweight Title match is given at least 15+ minutes, then it'll rock as well. Potentially there's two great matches, one solid one, and the rest, who really cares.

I hate to resort to cheap heat, but "you can't spell overrated without RVD". Not as horrible as people say, but I cannot see him as a main eventer.

WrestleMania 20: "Where it all Begins...Again"
Austin3164life replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
Wrestlemania took place in MSG, and kicked off a new era at that time, and perhaps they're going to "begin again" with an all new era at WM XX.....TRIPLE H AND SHAWN MICHAELS RE-CREATE THE ORIGINAL D-X~! -
Eddy has been a good talker in his career, it's just that a lot of his WWF/E promos have always had the "Mamacita, Latino Heat" fluff. Lately, he's been adding depth and emotion to his promos, and they make for one hell of a segment.
-
Smackdown desperately needs a fresh persona on their show. But I guess Triple H is hungry.
-
Maybe the crowd was dimmed, but there wasn't really any substantial reaction to the dancing. I heard people laughing but that's it.
-
Well Raw will lose Goldberg so it'll be Triple H, Shawn, Benoit, Jericho, Kane, Austin, and RVD. Smackdown has Brock, Cena, Eddy, Angle, Edge, and presumably Undertaker (assuming he goes back to the Smackdown brand). Yeah, it's pretty imbalanced. Smackdown has turned into the armpit of the WWE.
-
If Austin was still healthy this past year, it would've been sweet to see Austin/Brock at Summerslam, with Brock going over clean.
-
I don't think this is a good idea. If they want Austin a part of WM XX, then they should've done the Austin/Hogan idea. If they go through with this, then they shouldn't have Austin interfere during the match, but after the match have the big confrontation with Austin and Goldberg. After 'berg loses they can have a brawl with a Stunner to Goldberg for retaliation after getting speared. Brock doesn't lose heat by winning (Austin raising Brock's arm in victory sounds cool), and since Goldberg is leaving, it really won't matter anyways.
-
An excellent match, even with the botched finish. It was on its way to becoming ****3/4.
-
I'll admit, that had me rolling, and I'm at college watching that. Especially when he came out of the Smackdown entrance and starting dancing and the entrance way. But, in the tradition of smarkness, it's stupid that he's poking fun at Eddy's heritage. Eddy's trying to realize a dream and Brock could care less (that's fine, however don't have a mariachi band out every Smackdown).
-
I can see it now JR- "GOD GAWD ALMIGHTY, FOLKS, THE GAME TRIPLE H AGAINST THE RISING STAR EDGE HERE IN TORONTO, IN THE AIR CANADA CENTER! TRIPLE H, THAT BASTARD, IS BLOODY AND BATTERED, AND IT'S EDGE'S TIME TO CLIMB UP THE MOUNTAIN!! COME ON, EDGE! YOU CAN DO IT! WAITAMINUTE, TRIPLE H HAS GOT THAT SLEDGEHAMMER, WHAT A SONOFA BITCH! EDGE IS OUT AND TRIPLE H MAKES THE PINFALL HERE IN EDGE'S BACKYARD! EVERYONE IS HOPPIN' MAD, KING~!" Lawler- "....the match hasn't even happened yet, JR......." It's almost as if they already know what's bound to happen.

Didn't Kurt say at a university speech that he and Cena are going to become a Tag Team? Sorry to sound bitchy, because I like both guys, but on the stick they do not mesh well at all. Like Bionic said, Angle would become the dorky heel who makes an ass of himself, and Cena would rip on him for that, and not for the actual reasoning of the feud. They could make a good feud out of it, if they leave the rapping to Cena and have Kurt be a serious heel. The last feud, I believe that Angle was handed the book, since he likes Cena (correct me on that Choken because I think you posted that once).
-
You forgot one item under Triple H's criteria: Have a match where he makes it look like they are about to win, and then the trusty sledgehammer comes out, and if that doesn't work, the pedigree will do them in, but they will have gotten over by looking unstoppable during the match~!
-
I wonder if Brock will sing "La Cucaracha" as well. Wouldn't that be something with his tone of voice.
-
Triple H- "I use Head and Shouldersuhh, cause I'm auhh step above everyoneuhh" Edge- "Yeah, I'll bet you stroke yourself with it as well. What a dork." Triple H- "Enjoy your pus-- I mean your spotlightuhh while it lasts."
-
HGH is hungry, so thus, Vince must feed him Edge.
