I was wrong, GTAIV will be a simultaneous launch on PS3 and 360 in October of 2007. Still, that's better than 360 owners waiting 9 months.

Yeah but still, Microsoft already has their next-gen system out and will show games that are using more and more of it's capabilities while Nintendo will have something like 30 games playable for their console with the interesting (to say the least) control setup....and Sony had to reassure people that there will actually be playable demos on the show floor for a system Ken K. said is "too cheap" at $500-$600. Like I said, Sony's gotta really impress people in order to keep the spotlight this year.

Sony's gonna have to have a REAL impressive showing on the floor with their PS3 playable titles if they are going to get out of E3 alive.

I still have a Patriots Antowain Smith jersey, actually. Well, he's from Houston, so maybe that'll motivate him.

Microsoft will probably stick it to Sony by dropping the 360's price in late October instead of rushing a price drop just to stick it to them now. They'll probably just play up that their premium package is $200 less than PS3's package and add "though that difference might be more once it launches" as a tease. The MGS4 trailer was pretty cool, though. Here's Microsoft's reaction:

I like that they kept the Dual Shock design since that is one of the best controller designs I've ever seen, but there's no WAY that price structure is going to move units when a damn 360 is probably going to be half the price by then. They absolutely have to go under the $500 barrier or there's gonna be trouble.

Even if you hate the two teams, Johnson/Beckett and Mussina/Schilling are going to be some GREAT pitching matchups this week.

I think they just used that angle for effect, to put you in Cole's shoes for the trailer. I doubt it will be actually used in the final game.

Use my Trevor Nelson character and put him against Zack's Jason James, making it a battle of two of the youngest prospects in OAOVW. I'll bump the OAOVW thread so you can see what those guys are like. And call the segment something like "In Development" or "OAOVW Minute".

Mark Loretta might have pulled off the best "bad play that worked out" of the year with that terrible bunt in the 6th that led to Ortiz knocking in three runs.

I know it's still a few days away, but I'm excited because, now that I have high speed 'net, I can watch all the videos and stuff from IGN's coverage. Personally, even though I won't get a PS3 anytime soon, I really want to see more on MGS4. Here's the E3 trailer for SD vs. RAW 2007 for PS3. Looking good, but you know how notoriously misleading next-gen teasers can be.

Since Bruiser is here, I just heard on the radio that the Cubs are looking at, among others, Kevin Millar to fill in for Lee. What do you think of that?

I actually think that third and fourth punch to the head is what put Solomon completely out. The kick/knee just rocked him.

I know we want Syndicated to kick off with a bang, but lets not ignore HD this week, 'kay? We will find out what Peter Knight has in mind for one last match with Alfdogg. I think PK will be in action as well (I haven't written a match since AM, though that may be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it).

What are the only states that will allow MMA? Is it just Connecticut, Nevada and California?

Another promo heavy post-PPV show, but there are a LOT of things to look forward to for the next month or more. Watts and Axel out of power is a VERY intriguing development and the whole "HD in Anarchy" thing should be fun to watch for the next little bit. Good job working the PPV delay into it, Adam. Overall a very good story-building show as pretty much every segment either foreshadowed something or just plain threw a curveball at us.

I just love how Shamrock obviously tried to pick a fight with Tito to fire up his team and Tito's all like "Yeah, ok dude. Grrrr and stuff."

Strahan must hate the Giants fanbase to scare them like that. Of course, since this was on BDSSP, I'm sure not many of them watched it. Why that wretched show is still on the air I don't know.
