  1. Must have missed it while proofreading. It WAS 1AM when I posted it. Fixed now.
  2. Bazam!! I only wondered if it was 10:00 once this week. That's an improvement....I guess.
  3. I'll have something fer sure.
  4. I'll be thinking of you on Saturday sitting in Sec 27, box 154, using tickets I didn't pay a single cent to get. I'll also have a Fenway Frank in FS' honor.
  5. That's Portland MAINE, not Oregon. They're the Red Sox AA team.
  6. *Sigh* Let's take the talk about Kobe's rape trial elsewhere, please. Or at least hold off until the playoffs are over.
  7. I hated Boston Public and, well, pretty much everything else David E. Kelly contributed to television. MST3K....well, it WAS on for 10 years, so I think the crew wanted to move on to something else. What I would like is some network to pick up the CC era (and Sci-Fi era now, I guess) episodes.
  8. Hey, does anyone know offhand who is pitching Saturday for the Sox vs. Seattle? My mother scored four tickets from work (sec 27, box 154), and I was just curious.
  9. Should have stopped right there. You've seen the rise of Shaq and Kobe, they have been perennial favorites, and they had a fantastic run in the 80's, which includes some of the greatest NBA Finals series in history with the Celtics. Plus the Dodgers haven't been that terrible. As for the NFL, LA has lost not one, but TWO franchises. There has to be a problem there, since football teams just don't get up and leave (well, if you aren't the Baltimore Colts, anyway).
  10. The Mole. They have the first season of it on GSN, and it's lightyears better than 95% of those other "reality gameshows." I didn't watch the Celebrity Mole's, but I would assume that they weren't very good.
  11. I too saw the "special sneak preview" on FOX last week, and I immediately knew this movie would bomb because the same problem that plagues other bad disaster movies; SFX first, plot second. Hell ID4 wasn't the greatest movie in the world, but youi could actually CARE about some of the characters because the actors actually made an effort to put forth a good performance (Will Smith, Bill Pullman, Jeff Goldblum, hell, even RANDY FUCKING QUAID). Of course, there were the typical horrible actors (the First Lady, Quaid's kids), but they either died, or had few lines. Where was I going with this? Oh yeah, TDAT doesn't seem to have much of a plot behind it and no real big name actors, so, like a lot of these no-brain summer movies, it will do really well this weekend and then drop off the charts next week because A) People will realize not only is it an empty movie, it isn't even a GOOD empty movie and B) they will spread the word to their friends. Who wants to see NYC get flooded AGAIN anyway? We already saw it in Deep Impact.
  12. Plus, the Falcons have Vick to entertain them for years to come (if he doesn't break his leg again).
  13. The list on the bottom is MY top 5, not ESPN's.
  14. Chicago had the Jordan Era, so they still have a ways to go before they are "tortured". I'd put Cleveland over them in a second.
  15. But the 76ers have been competitive, the Flyers were in the confrence finals this year, and the Eagles have been in 3 straight title games. I'd say they are pretty close to Boston; the teams are good, and there have been good players, but they just can't make it to the Promised Land.
  16. In yet ANOTHER list countdown, here are cities 15-5: 15. Tampa Bay 14. Kansas City 13. Cincinnati 12. Phoenix 11. Washington, D.C. 10. Houston 9. San Diego 8. Atlanta 7. Seattle 6. Minneapolis 5. Boston Speaking of the #5 selection, Bill Simmons chimed in with a dissenting opinion. He's pretty spot on, I think. He also talked about the other cities on the list, but here's what he said about Boston being "tortured": He picks Buffalo as his most tortured city, and I have to agree totally. My top 5 cities would probably be: 1. Buffalo (4 consecutive Superbowl losses is tough to top) 2. Cleveland 3. Seattle (especially with the sorry state of the Mariners right now) 4. D.C. 5. Pittsburgh
  17. Don't forget we're overdue for Junior's annual leg/knee injury that takes him out for a few months.
  18. Gorilla Monsoon? He seemed to do things "for the fans" more than for the faces.
  19. I think they actually tried a Divas show in 2002 on UPN, and it bombed.
  20. *Sulks into the corner and weeps softly* Ok, I'm better now. I'm going to have to side with Goodear here (omg, mod disagreement~!). HHH has improved over the last few months, both in ring and in the promo department (he doesn't take the mic every single week and drone on about the same thing over and over. "I am the Game, I'm the best, blah blah blah). Sure, THIS week had the focus on HBK/HHH, but next week they could put more of a focus on Benoit/Kane, or Benjamin/Orton, or Eugene, or something else. But I do really hope that HIAC is the final chapter in that feud. Yeah, Shawn's resilient, but you'd think getting his ass kicked that many times would tell him something.
  21. Last full week of games in May. Let's get at em'. Since we're at about the 2 month mark in the season (and I need something to talk about on off days), who would you consider the "Out of the Gate MVP"?
  22. Patriots tickets sold out in 15 minutes today. I tell ya, Kraft could sell the worst seats for $100 each, and he'd still sell the place out every week. Maybe I'll look into going to NY or Buffalo or something.
  23. Great topic. I guess my picks would be: -Games 3 & 7 of the 2003 ALCS -Superbowl XXXVI -Superbowl XXXVIII (although this game is on the Pats' Superbowl DVD) -The Snow Bowl (Oak-NE AFC Divisional playoff 2002) -Game 6 of the 1975 World Series (and not just for the finish) -The game in the 1984 NBA Finals that had the Celtics and Lakers fighting for everything and that almost turned into a brawl (Game 4?) -Superbowl XXXII (just a very good game, and Elway gets his ring) -The 1980 Miracle on Ice -The women's billiards match where Jannette Lee wore an evening gown with a VERY low neckline (hey, it's MY DVD) -Roger Clemens' 1st 20K game vs. Seattle in 1986 -Patriots vs. Bills Week 17, 2003 (Sweet, sweet revenge)
  24. What do you have in mind? PM me if you want to.
  25. Take 2 out of Velocity, and one out of the other three categories then.
