I'm a mark for battle royales, I admit it. As long as it's at least 25 minutes long and not 10 minute bangbangbang elimination style.
-
It's only one game, and he's the 5th starter. I'm not calling for his head on a pike just yet. Besides, who's kissing his ass?

Manny Ramirez is going to miss tonight's game because he's getting his US citizenship. And I heard that Johnny Damon made a deal with Gillette so that he would shave his beard, but keep the hair. So we're going from Jesus playing CF to the Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer? Talk about de-evolution.

Crest, I believe. Well, either that or Cheese Whiz (LOLPERFECTLYACCEPTABLEFATJOKE2004~!)

- From the rules thread that has a huge bold link at the top of each page. His first and only post is spamming. Fuck him, sez I.

Dammit, do we have to play the Indians again this week? I'm debating wether or not to take in a Mean Girls, Still We Believe: The Boston Red Sox Movie (yes, they made a movie about last season) double feature on Friday. I'll probably leave before the end of Game 7 though. I'm not a masochist (ok ok, I watched That Game 6 on ESPN Classic recently).

Rant beat you to it

Um.....no. Hmm, didn't someone call a 2.8 in a certain article on the main page?

Or a speeding David Letterman. So Dames is officially a New Englander, huh? Of course, he's in Connecticut, the red-headed stepchild of the group (mostly Yankee fans, cares about college basketball, actually allowed casinos to be built)

It isn't hard at all. Usually the second step up from rookie in most games is a little difficult, but it isn't at all in MVP. After the All-Star break I'm going to switch to all-star mode. Turn off the pitching aids (hot/cold zones and the strike zone), and that will up the difficulty a bit, since you won't have anything to help you. I enjoy the game even more now that I did that and fiddled with the sliders a bit.

Yeah, if you allow MANNY RAMIREZ (a man who would, if he could, rather drive a golf cart around the basepaths than run) to score from first, there's a bit of a problem there. The way he thrust his arms in the air like he just won the Boston Marathon as he crossed the plate (standing up, even though he was inches from being out, which would have PISSED people right off) was kind of funny, though.

Bledsoe associated with the Pats? Maybe 4 years ago, but not now. People probably are still sending Mo Lewis thank you notes for that hit (not because they wanted Drew hurt, of course). For me: Celtics: Basketball Jesus (aka to the mortals, Larry Bird) Red Sox: Ted Williams Patriots: Tom Brady, although you could also say Belichick (if you want to bend the rules a bit), or John Hannah (the Patriots' only NFL Hall of Famer, I believe). Bruins: Either Bobby Orr, Cam Neely, or Ray Bourque, I can't decide.

Ok, let's stop the arguing about Kobe's court case before it starts. This thread is about the Lakers' roster, not Kobe's off-court issues. If you want to discuss the rape trial, start a new thread about it.

And KC fully blows a, what, 6-2 lead after a home run from Mark F'n Bellhorn (that's embarassing). And Varitek wins it with a pinch hit double.
-
Deleted scenes, sure, but I don't think there would be an alternate ending, since it's based on a true story and all. I mean, Henry isn't going to say "fuck Witness Protection" and kill De Niro's character or anything.

I'd like to do SOMETHING, but I have no idea what.

Clicky clicky Remember: Don't pat elderly people on the shoulder! And doing this made me miss MXC AGAIN, which pisses me off even more.

Tonight should be pretty interesting in Cleveland. Will Pedro take his anger at the backlash from his comments earlier in the week (he actually thought acting like a whiny bitch would get the fans on his side) and use it to throw an absolute gem, or will he put up ANOTHER stinkbomb and continue to torpedo his chances at a good contract (while tanking my fantasy team in the process)?
-
I'm inclined to agree. AS was on a roll to start, but the whole thing ran out of steam as they actually started playing well, thus reducing AS' opportunities to bitch. Plus, the WS was discussed to death when it happened, and I don't want to hear AGAIN how Jeff Weaver sucks and cost them the Series and should die. From now on, talk about the Yankees in the TWiB threads, please. Thread closed. Farewell my friend. If anyone has a problem with this, PM me.

Yeah, and no one cares about the World Cup when it comes around, either. If it's Armstrong vs. Vick, I'm going with Armstrong easily, simply because we have seen Armstrong go through something that would completely drain a normal person, but he sucked it up and not only competed in one of the most grueling events in sports, but WON it multiple times (dominating the competition every time, IIRC). Vick's hype is built on what he could potentially do. The guy could stink up the joint and retire in 4 years, we don't know.

Man, that's gotta be a nice kick in the jimmies for Contreras' ego. He didn't get sent to AAA, nor AA, but SINGLE A. Ouch, just ouch. And thank God the bats finally woke up against that Indians pitching, but the funniest thing of the week has to be Jerry Remy operating one of the cameras (their booth at Jacobs is so bad that he and Don Orscillo have to have a cameraman between them) while Orscillo plays back-seat cameraman ("Shouldn't you zoom in more?" "That pan was good." "I think you should have someone in the shot) and annoys the hell out of Remy.

I caught the president's speech in the beginning, and I just HAD to laugh. "We are not going to let something like a catastrophic earthquake get in our way of living our lives. Earthquake, bring it on!"

Argh, this total ineptness on the part of the Red Sox offense w/RISP is getting on my nerves. 21 guys in the last two games!! Man, SOMEONE hit them home!!!

I saw on the news that Kerry fell off his bike yesterday. The anchorman made sure to point out that not only was Kerry unhurt, the BICYCLE was taken to a repair shop and will be just fine. Get well soon!!!!

Well, let's see here. They're missing arguably their biggest superstar, as well as Trot Nixon. The offense can't get it together for some reason, although I think you could suggest that Damon's poor hitting certainly isn't helping matters. Then you've got your best pitcher playing the "I want more money" game at a horrible time. Manny has really been bothering me lately, as his refusal to show any sort of hustle on the offense is almost sickening. Him standing there like a jackass when he thinks he's hit a homer, pop up or foul ball, has to stop. Well, my statement was 80% in jest. I'm not going to ream them out for a few bad games (in which they didn't get blown out or anything, and they had a shot on Sunday), but it's really apparent that, while their offense has been good without them, it's a whole different ballgame with Nixon and Nomar in there. Yeah, Pokey Reese and Mark Bellhorn are real good defensively, but they SUCK at the bat (although Bellhorn is behind Bonds right now in walks, so at least he has that going for him; Reese just can't hit.)
