All of the shows are $39.95 standard / $49.95 HD except for Mania, but I've already forgotten the cost. I think it was $54.95 standard and $64.95 for the HD broadcast.

F4W/WON WWE Notes - Summarized notes, radio notes, etc.

A WON HOF note: Chris Benoit remains in the Hall of Fame. There was a vote to remove him, but since the "Yes" vote did not exceed 60% (though it was more than 50%), he stays in. -
I'm surprised Vince is even that hands on to make those sort of demands.
-
Cut from the WON Thread and put here instead: There's an Edge DVD scheduled for November. That sounds like something already mentioned in here, though.
-
It's mentioned over in the WWE folder in the WON notes, but just passing on that apparently Foley and Savage have been McMahon-banned from the game.
-
Wow, it's almost like I told you that on IRC after typing it up in the WON notes thread and you decided to post it as new news when it's IN THE WON NOTES THREAD. This is getting deleted.

WWE 24/7 Classics OnDemand General Discussion
DrVenkman PhD replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in WWE Multimedia
Yes, I totally called the Abe thing! I also didn't realize Showdown at Shea was in 1990 I stuffed the ballot for Survivor Series 92. Well, not really, but I think I voted for it once a day or so. I haven't seen it in years and while the undercard kinda stinks, it should be fun to see the two main events. Halloween Havoc 92 and Buried Alive both aired in October 2006. I know what 909 is thinking, because it sounds exciting to see a WCW PPV you may have never seen, but it's a pretty bad show. -
WON - September 3rd (8th): Mick Foley: Foley's deal is a combination deal between TNA and Spike TV. Foley will likely have a television project with Spike. Some in TNA want Foley to debut immediately while others are wanting to wait until Bound for Glory. Christian / Kevin Nash: It's 50/50 whether or not they re-sign with TNA or heads back to WWE, mostly dependent on how interested WWE is in them. Nash, of course, is telling TNA that WWE wants him and there is the possibility he could be a bodyguard for Lance Cade or work some tags with Shawn, but in his current condition one would question whether he could take on (or want) the WWE schedule. With Christian, any heat he had for his 2005 departure is water under the bridge. Now that emphasis on a muscular physique is at an all time low (due to drug testing), Christian seems to have nothing holding him back from a prime WWE position. PPVs: In what Dave considers a surprising move, the November and December PPVs will be held in Orlando. He feels it was clear they "outgrew the place" when the last held a PPV there, but since out of Orlando PPVs aren't drawing large crowds, this is seen as a cost cutting measure. Contracts: A big round of contracts are coming due in March. It will be interesting to see who WWE is interested in. Miscellaneous: * TNA is hoping to draw a 1.2 rating with Foley and the Sting/Jarrett angle. * Moody Jack has been offered a deal to return. * Bruno Sammartino taped a deal talking about Kurt Angle. * TNA is giving everyone who attends the Manhattan Center show that Ticketmaster royally F'd up a free DVD.

WON - September 3rd (8th): Unforgiven: Commercials airing on DirecTV for Unforgiven only mention the Raw and SmackDown Scramble matches - the feeling is that the "ECW Scrabble" (thanks Adamle) match was a last minute addition to the card and not part of the original plan. The rumoured idea that Undertaker would be facing the winner of the SmackDown match was something creative came up but it was not green lit by Vince. More on MVP: The heat on MVP may have started with a drug test - wrestlers aren't exactly down with the idea of standing around totally exposed to give a urine sample. During a test, MVP asked the monitor if he had graduates from college, then after he answered, said something to the effect of "you went to school for four years to watch people’s dicks". The monitor complained to Johnny Ace and Brother Love told the wrestlers not to harass them. Since that incident, backstage buzz has been that MVP can't work as a heel and get heat (Dave notes this is surprising as he just had a good match with Festus). The reason the story came out about him being asked to observe Shelton Benjamin's work is because Benjamin is currently getting high praise for his current heel work, particularly the way he smiles after doing a heel deed. Scramble Predictions: Dave feels despite heat on him, MVP winning is the most logical choice if HHH does not retain. He also feels Matt Hardy should not win the ECW title in this type of match and Henry should retain to build to a singles win for Hardy. For Raw, it's noted "a lot of ideas have been discussed". Randy Orton: Aiming for a November return. Also does not like Bubba Ray Dudley because he was careless while working with Sylvan Grenier. Go Shiozaki: He did a dark match at the Sunday tapings to see if they could use him in the role they were planning on for Morishima before they suddenly realized Morishima didn't have a WWE-shape. Joey Mercury: He's not taking any indy dates after December, so most feel he is on his way back with Christian York (with a name change expected if Christian Cage comes in). Legends of WrestleMania Video Game: While there apparently several names Vince doesn't want to be in this game, the two THQ have been told absolutely can't be in it are Mick Foley and Randy Savage. Undertaker's Streak: Hey, weren't we talking about this last week in CTDWAT? Anyway, if Undertaker were to ever lose at Mania, they want it to be to someone who needs a rub and not an established star. Ted DiBiase is being discussed as the guy who might do it in the future with an angle revolving around how his father brought Taker to WWE. -

My prediction was correct, sadly, as nothing showed up. Cogeco sent me a real e-mail about it too! -
You mean that wasn't supposed to be a flying Codebreaker?

Not sure why that happened but it should be ok now.

I like Noah in this section of the board, even if admitting he likes getting heat and using the "I'm the smartest person her" routine is right out of the Leena playbook. Of course the only real interaction I've had with Milky since the BPT is him calling me an asshole for liking Leena gulag posts over BruiserBrody stories and randomly telling me to F off. Thanks Dave! -
More often than not, Backlash seems to have the gimmick that it is, indeed, the storyline backlash from the events of WrestleMania. Hell, they might as well call the show "Backlash: WrestleMania Revenge Tour" some years. This strategy often has good results (Backlash 2007 was very good with Batista/Undertaker II and Cena/HBK continuing their series with the addition of Orton and Edge with a good main event, and while it's not saying much, Backlash 1999 was MUCH better than WrestleMania XV).

I did find that trailer a bit difficult to re-watch when the movie was on TV in March. Is Brainscan the movie about the video game that hypnotizes you to murder people? I love that movie (and generally any movie where a teenager has a "mid 90s room" full of posters and computerized butlers that want to use modems to play video games.

Here's a wacky idea I had recently. This could either be a big waste of time or a fun look into some past zaniness of the WWE folder - no way to know without trying! First up, something from my younger days that I'm not that thrilled I posted, but I think as soon as it was clear (about 5 posts in) that this was legit, it became pretty funny. The Death of Vader? I would like to make a note that I was being intentionally pretentious with one of my comments but for whatever reason didn't bother to defend that. I'm also happy with the way Bruiser Chong took the Simpsons quote set-up I left out there for someone to take. Also, please don't bump any of these.

I don't think they've announced a Season 7 start date for Curb yet. I forgot that my mom (of all people) got me into House recently so I should probably check that out now too.

The sales for this year's show suggest the Elimination Chamber is a permenant attraction to set up a WrestleMania main event.

So did anyone see school children roaming the streets with burlap sacks, or did Adamle's clever plan to avoid such a social situation work? -
According to the Dirt Sheet, he has problems selling.

To be fair dubq, I WAS being slightly sarcastic.

One Night Stand: Gimmicks galore Cyber Sunday: VOTES~!

Entourage is actually on at 8:30 here which I thought was odd. I'll pretty much be watching the same thing I did last year: Fox on Sunday (or Entourage and the Vampire show, but I can VOD those on Tuesday), CBS on Monday, and NBC on Thursday. Mole: No west coast channels? Jingus: According to the Canadian program "EP Daily" (Electronic Playground), Preacher is no more as it was described as "too much, even for HBO".

Scorby, all his friends hate it that he's always right. TSM doesn't stand a chance against him.
