  1. Argh! After the most recent re-syncing of Wiimotes to a friend's console, mine refuse to sync up at home. It's a pain in the ass and the two methods I was given to try and remedy this (change the batteries around or unplug the system) didn't help any. A friend of mine who has Paper Mario left for the next 2.5 months and I'm borrowing the game for that time (should be receiving it shortly) but it won't do me much good if the wiimotes won't work. I did a google search and have been informed there is a main sync button on the Wii console (which in retrospect, I knew because a friend used it on his the other day, but forgot). Hopefully this solves the problem.
  2. KD are you saying NOTHING showed up, or are you waiting in vain for SBIII after we all determined the 6th was incorrect?
  3. It allegedly came out on Tuesday with the Ladder match DVD, something a commercial during SmackDown! seemed to confirm.
  4. http://www.djwiij.com/news.php
  5. Has anyone seen the Families DVD to comment on it? I'm interested in whether or not the main feature is good.
  6. Cactus Jack: I'd rather be home watching TBS's "Movies for Guys that Like Movies" That brought back some nostalgia. Flair/Foley is crazier than I remember. I can't believe Flair, at his age, would take a body slam directly onto all those tacs.
  7. My dream arcade if my dream was to appeal to people's sense of nostalgia AND still be up to date (which is a more accurate dream than the first list I made): First off, this place needs neon light bulbs that are pink and blue (neon pink and blue lights scream "retro 80s" to me) with some art featuring Pac-Man, Street Fighters, and the like. I want the floors to be black and white checker patterns. There will be music playing in the arcade, probably being streamded off of ormgas. When you walk in the door, the centerpiece game will be... 1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I'd love for it to be Turtles in Time (and maybe it even would be), especially since people get get a perfect port of this off of XBLA now, but that doesn't matter. THIS was the ceneterpiece game of my youth when my cousin and I went to Fast Eddie's arcade in downtown Windsor. This is the game everyone walking into the arcade saw, and since persumably I'd be opening it in this same city, that's my nostalgic hit. In close proximity, clearly visible upon entry but not the first thing you'd see since TMNT is in the middle and these two are each off to the side of it (a different side for each one) would be the latest in fighting, which would probably mean: 2. Tekken 6 3. Virtua Fighter 5 Scattered throughout, people would also find: 4. That cabinet I mentioned in the other thread that I found at a Maryland D&B that is full of old arcade games (Street Fighter, various SFIIs, Wrestle War, and more). I knew I found this game somewhere else too with a slightly different selection, and memory is telling me it was in the arcade at Excaliber Hotel and Casino in Vegas. It totally exists and is totally not cheating to put it in my dream arcade. 5 and 6. WWF WrestleFest and WWF Royal Rumble (pinball machine). Because I love them. 7. Jurassic Park pinball - I need more pinball. 8. Air Hockey Table - because Fast Eddie's had one upstairs. 9. A multiplayer Daytona racing unit - this combined with the above air hockey table is making it turn into the Techtown at Silver City (which also has MvC, or did at one point) but this is my place damnit. 10. DDR, because folks love it. If I had more options, the "Tommy" pinball machine as well as some other pinball machines would be there for sure. I think I need a Pac-Man unit (the above mentioned 'Class of 81' machine I've seen around is a good bet).
  8. I get antsy watching long videos on my computer as it is (which is why I'm glad 24/7 shows PPVs my friends and I don't order - I couldn't sit down and watch them downloaded on my computer, I just got impatient and skipped everything), but watching a whole PPV on youtube? I don't think I'm up for that challenge yet.
  9. My wireframe character got killed when I played that as a youngster in Sauble Beach so I didn't know that.
  10. I'm often confused by what some people say and reading material I've seen as to the whole Jesus deal. As I know the deal, he is "seated at the right hand of the Father", but I often hear people call Jesus God. Someone told me that was because some view Jesus as God's human form. Someone also told me confession is a sin because you're idolizing a priest as God. I thought this was something the guy said because he's recently born again and, for lack of a better word though I don't want it to come off so negatively, was "brainwashed" at his Bible studies to think this. Someone later confirmed with me that is a true religious belief.
  11. My dream arcade, if my dream was to quickly go out of business: 1. Hard Drivin 2. Street Fighter: The Movie 3. An old Lethal Enforcers cabinet where one of the guns don't work right. 4. The Sega made Royal Rumble game. 5. Cruisin Exotica 6. Altered Beast 7. Some tile puzzle game, but not the adult ones that revealed naked pictures for clearing a board. 8. A fortune telling machine that thinks I'm a Taurus instead of a Gemini. 9. Area 51 10. Mario Brothers (who doesn't own 2 or more versions of this already?)
  12. Ned Flanders: I've followed every teaching in the Bible! Even the stuff that contradicts the other stuff!
  13. I don't know if this is a specific religious teaching for Catholics or if this was just my own interpretation on things after 13 years of the catholic school system, but it always seemed to me that the idea was to take most of the Old Testemant and accept it as a symbolic fable (Adam and Eve being a moral about mankind's greed keeping them from the perfect life, or something... definitley not to be taken as 'this is where life began and evolution and dinosaurs don't exist) about good living, then take the New Testement as a more literal account of Christ's actions. I don't want to say I don't understand why science and religion are often at odds, because I do, but religious people who are adamently opposed to science or scientists who determine that since they can't prove God exists therefore he must not just seems too closed minded to me. Nothing wrong with educated people who believe in evolution and realize rainbows are caused by... uh, light reflections off of moisture? (damn I should have picked an example I knew) and not God putting on a magic show believing in a higher power. Maybe the one mindset versus another is just a few people that seem like a lot due to the media. Then again, I love the show Bullshit! and would like to watch some of the religious based episodes. But hey, maybe in 2000 years someone will find a bunch of DBZ manga volumes and determine that God is a guy from another planet living on a floating palace while higher Gods live on other planets in the universe, and people won't think it's all that crazy. One of my favourite lines of the more recent Simpsons seasons was Bart and Lisa doing research on some ancient beliefs (they had found an old indian cave or some such). Bart's response to Lisa is "thank goodness we've come to our senses and worship a carpenter from 2,000 years ago".
  14. Faith No More guy? Vladimir is the guy that always wears tanktops (often with "HOT ROD" written on it during the Piper days), huge glasses, and a shaved head.
  15. When I was a kid, our summer visits to Sauble Beach, Ontario were always highlighted (outside of the beach itself, of course) by the huge arcade on Main Street. Apparently it's three different clothing stores now.
  16. If I ran an arcade it would definitley be retro themed in design so it should certainly have older games in it. I'll have to think this one over after work, though.
  17. I'm sure it's a coincidence but when I got home from work and still had no update, I had the update up within 20 minutes of e-mailing WWE.com (sans Superbrawl because it seems that's not really a June 6th update).
  18. I'm a little late on this one but I'm pretty sure the fact that passages WWM posted had to be put into context ("blood on the stones really means this....", "That's from the Old Testament...") only proved the point he was trying to make about how - word for word without using common sense to put them in context - such things could technically be promoted by the Bible. I don't really discuss religion with people, but I will say the closest I came to going to the athiest side was reading a Jack Chick tract that had a palentologist holding up a dinosuar bone being called a "God hater". As soon as I read that I momentarily decided all religious people are insane, but I realized that would be a very broad generalization.
  19. I also saw him at a ROH show in December 2005, it was very exciting to see him and Green Lantern Fan. He was also on camera at ONS, not sure about the second one. I think I read something a long time ago that said something about having an "in" through Roddy Piper. Or, maybe he was just the Rick Achburger of his time.
  20. Every machine you touch will shock you (so get used to that) and people hand out inappropriate reading material on the streets. It's hot in the summer. Any Star Wars penny machine is awesome. The original is fun because of all the classic music and changing pictures based on your bet, but Dark Side has a bonus round that actually pays even on a x1 bet.
  21. I don't quite know the details since it never affected me, but I believe you have to be of legal drinking age to enter after a certain time or accompanied by an adult. It seems rather silly. I've been to two D&B's - I really liked the one in Maryland (at the White Flint mall near DC) because it had a lot of fun arcade games, notably some machine that was full of classics like SFII (which I unknowingly started a tournament by playing). I was at another one in NYC, it was ok but the video game to ticket redemption game ratio was way out of balance. I'd do a few races in Daytona (and why they still use the first one I don't know, but it's fun to have 8 people) and then wait around for someone to stop playing House of the Dead 4. The one in Maryland had at least 4 pinball machines as well, this one only had one and it wasn't all that fun (something about the New York Giants).
  22. Yeah, their current schedueling patterns often make week 2 the weakest of the updates, but this is often occuring when week 1 was overloaded. I still haven't watched the Boston show.
  23. So the awful vampire movie (Rise Blood Hunter?) I saw last night because my friends that picked me up were all late for the Knocked Up showing didn't even make the top 18? No surprise, I hadn't even heard of it.
  24. The poll results listing and actual date seem to be wrong, but I never did get Judgment Day 2003 (don't care either) and have had previous problems with the PYBOs in 2006. As of leaving for work this morning, my provider was once again late in providing any new content (which at least should be ECW and Primetime).
