If Futurama were still on the air, they should make a joke about Season 7 of The Simpsons being new to DVD.

I realized the beauty of the Eugene gimmick while watching Backlash at Famous Players movie theatre last weekend (hooray for the death of the HU cards forcing me to pay to watch PPV!) Anyway, the marks ate him up, while the mentally handicapped individual a few rows up didn't comprehend he should have been offending her.

Tonight's episode (yeah, this is for last week's ep, but I hate making new threads) was OK until that bizarre dream Homer had. Was that some sort of Catch Me if You Can reference? I also didn't like Marge's character now hating her children. And hooray for another Futurama refernece with the poster in the video store! We can't be too far off from Professor Frink building a Bending Unit for the Simpsons Family and / or the Planet Express crew time travelling to Springfield and / or The Simpsons getting cryogenically frozen and living in New NEw York for 1/2 a season until it's revealed it's all a dream!

Considering how long the good majority of Flair's matches on that DVD are, I can feasibly see that. I mean...I think the shortest one is at least 20 minutes... Going with the 8 advertised ones, I think that number is about right (vs. Funk might be in the 15-17 minute range, actually). Flair vs HHH and the JIP tag match on Disc 2 are significantly shorter. Flair vs. Pete Sanchez (I think) feels like it's 30 minutes, but I don't think it's all that long.

Technically, the Rey DVD has more matches than the much loved Ric Flair DVD. Technically. Edit: Well, if you count the extras I think the Flair DVD has exactly ONE more match than the Rey DVD. That's not taking into accoutn the fact that one of the 10 matches on Rey's DVD is about 3 minutes, but hey, 10 matches is a pretty good number. Considering, according to some reviews, 2 of those matches are in the ****1/2 or more range, with a few others being very high, I don't really see the hate for the DVD. Sure, the main feature isn't very good, especially when he rambles on about Albert in kayfabe.. but Eddy vs Rey! Come on! Worth the money right there.

I always assumed the "MOTY" was the match Jannetty won the title in. That's the one I always hear about. I've never seen that match or the one where Shawn wins it back, just their boring match on the Bloodbath DVD which was saved by Johnny Raven's commentary. What if it's the 1985 Bleeps tape? That one features a Iron Mike Sharpe vs Steve Gray match I want to see.

I found HHH bringing up Luger funny. Does anyone else think HHH's black tights, white boots, blond hair, and big physique resembles 1980s Lex Luger?

Speaking of sucker, I have the feeling I'll end up being the sucker for buying the movie on what is essentially a barebones DVD. Yeah, it's all about the movie, but it still bothers me when better editions come out later.

Pretty weird to heat Josh reference the Flying Elvises from TNA.

AKI Handicap matches. They seem pretty easy in the SmackDown engine, but I get my ass handed to me in WM2000/No Mercy, and more recently, Def Jam Vendetta. I remember playing DJV last year, thinking I had the big handicap match in the story mode won, then getting ganged up on and beaten. That always upsets me. I think I even came onto the forums and ranted against handicap matches, but was told to just stop sucking at the game (fair enough).

That's certainly not the type of person I thought big time Christian and all around good person Molly would be into, but ok. Good answer by Shelton, too.

Has RVD signed a new deal yet? If he doesn't, I don't think they'll be releasing this after the fact.
-
That's along the lines of what I was thikning too.

Silly marks. They think Flair owned Raw.

So... should a OAO TEW Thread get made? Should it be merged with this? I guess that's up to a mod but I'm throwing it out there...

Well I suppose this is as good an excuse as any to FINALLY buy some Ram. My monitor is about to die any day now (repeatedly wacking it to get rid of the pink/purple haze it covers the screen with isn't cutting it these days) so perhaps I can get a bigger one where 1024 won't be a big deal. Sadly, I had read "Average .400 program requirements" above as "TEW Requirements", and assumed I'd get by. Then the game tells me it needs 500-something MB of Ram to run optimally and recommends removing some of the countries. Oh well.
-
Well, another problem is you go from EWR to this monster. It's going to take a bit more than a 1 day trial to pick up all the nuances of this game. From the very little I tried before realzing that with 64MB of ram, I need to start a new game with no other countries but North America, almost nothing was EWR-familiar. It's a whole new learnign curve. I think once people learn it, they'll love it. Unless they don't want something with depth, then I don't know.
-
The trial overwhelmed me... I have a 3 1/2 year old computer with very little ram, so it was taking forever to go the 2nd day. I don't know who anyone is, or where I can talk to someone who should be yelling at me to do things to the roster or get sponsors (I miss Sophie). My resolution is normally 800x600, so I wasn't used to the higher resolution and had a difficult time seeing. However, it seemed really indepth, and if/when RaveX or someone posts a hack or whatever you want to call it to revert everyone and everything to real people and companies, I may just order it.

Non-Fans watched Shelton/HHH with me...

The Dragon Whip is a great move but I dislike it as a finisher. Maybe he can go back to using the 450 splash. -
I remember back in 97, people were convinced Crome Dome or Thunder Dome (the bald guy) was supposed to be Steve Austin. Crazy kids. I liked being Black Belt (TAKA) in World Tour, considering he was a WWF regular at that point.

I just had a stellar idea for a TEW update for people who really want to be in-depth about their merchandise sales. You pick the wrestler you want to market a DVD for, how many discs it is, the MSRP, and using the event archive, pick out what matches go on it, then track its sales. I should have thought of all this earlier.
-
Well lucky it will say "WWE Championship" then, eh? Sorry for being all anal about that. Should I be saying 'anal' in a thread about Bradshaw?
-
No, Meltzer is wrong. Bradshaw is filler because there is no April PPV. Angle or Booker T will face Eddie at Judgment Day because I said so, and because I don't want Bradshaw main eventing. The plus side of it possibly being accurate is, as mentioned, we know Eddie isn't losing to him.

If the HDD can't be used to save game data like Xbox's, then there is no point, unless you're big into online games that require it. I'm not.
