  1. Anyone going to post The Rock stuff? As usual, IGN's media page is telling me the most recent stuff posted involves Edge and Booker T, so I am a slave to IBM's updating of this thread with direct links.
  2. Even WWE has acknowleged Flair wrestling before 1976 with that Confidential piece about the 1975 plane crash... something is up there, either a screw up in the date by WWE, misinformation from 1w (perish the thought), or the 'debut' in question refers to something else. Edit: "They mean his WWF/MSG debut, which is the earliest match they have the rights to".. ah yes, I recall WWE.com posting a story about Flair's short WWF (WWWF?) run in the 70s awhile back.
  3. Shouldn't someone be ranting and raving about Angle doing the job about now? And where the hell is Keith, another "date"?
  4. I'd like to suggest writing things for WrestlingDB.com in the User Article section, then plugging the hell out of it wherever you can to get people to read it.
  5. Good work, Leonard. Now I have a question for you for the next one... Recently, I watched the movie "Piranha". The Moviepix website (the channel that shows older movies in Canada) claimed it was both a parody of Jaws and a comedy, but in watching the movie, it seemed to be a straight up horror movie about deadly fish that just happened to be unintentionally funny. A comment about it on IMDb also notes many people mistake it for a parody. Do you have any thoughts on the film and what it was trying to do? And correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Joe Dante was involved with the movie, the same Joe Dante who changed the Gremlins from fearsome horror monsters into hilarious muppets. Could this be why people think it's supposed to be a parody? If you've never actually seen or heard of the movie, that's cool too. Your old GWP Wrestling pal, Steve.
  6. I hear ya, but the Armageddon 2002 PPV was not split-branded, and it's supposed to be that set. I think it looks really great, myself.
  7. The big news out of all of this is Haas's WGTT tights.
  8. I'm liking that all PPV sets, not just the big 4, have the correct chyron font for the entrances. A small thing, but very nice.
  9. I don't remember when but SLH was already turned gay. Also, Future Rod and Todd were also gay.
  10. I think 'Also sprach Zarathustra' is public domain, they don't have to pay for it. Well up until Judgment Day 03, all commercial PPV releases by WWE (post WMX8) had to dub Ric Flair's 1992 theme over top of his current one. The WMX8 video game did the same thing.
  11. I think they have to pay for Flair's music, so any excuse to not use it (ie. Evolution theme) might keep it out. But here's hoping it's in.
  12. Mike F'n Sharpe
  13. While I'm happy Leo Hayhurst is back on the net with fresh columns, I can't help but think I could answer all my own questions with IMDB or Google.
  14. The code is Bobtoni
  15. The only real problem with the Facts in WM is that it looks out of place when time sensitive ones are used ('Mattitude will make WM a Success', 'This is Matt's 4th WM Appearance', 'Matt always got more Halloween candy than his brother')
  16. Well, going by WMXIX, there will be a database of real Matt facts (not sure how many) that randomly are used for his entrances. WMXIX sometimes uses 3 or 4 Matt facts in an entrance, and sometimes only 2. I would imagine it would be 2 at most in HCTP due to the patented "less than 1 minute" intros that the SD! series is known for.
  17. I always assumed Goldberg would win the title at SummerSlam and feud with Kane for Unforgiven. Now, with the next PPV being SmackDown only, and Survivor Series being the rumoured "Trips gets his belt back" PPV, I think they'll just have Goldberg beat assorted upper midcarders / psudo-main event guys (starting tonight with Jericho) and squash jobbers as well (the above mentioned Richards, probably Mack again and Mark Henry to put over Berg's strength), with this leading to a big match on Raw against Kane, similar to how SD! promotes big episodes in their PPV downtime.
  18. I'm glad Matt has his 100% real entrance. WMXIX's fake music (that they started in the wrong place) and Raw 2's no Matt facts at all entrance (from what I hear) had me worried, but as usual SmackDown shows me why it's my favourite wrestling game series.
  19. Their match on SmackDown! a few weeks before the above mentioned Hell in a Cell was also very good as I recall, with Jericho pinning HHH when he became distracted by Taker's theme song (which is clean in my books... HHH was just being a retard to turn around).
  20. Pretty sure RVD won his tag title defense at Backlash, chief.
  21. Orton gets too much haterizing. This will be the first PPV since Judgment Day 2003 that I am scheduled to work during and didn't feel it necessary to ask someone to change shifts (so far I only did that for SummerSlam).
  22. They mangled the Survivor Series 2002 set. Perhaps the "old school"-ness of the actual set wouldn't translate to the game well? I was looking forward to entering through those big door-trons.
  23. The world demands Goldberg
  24. Don't forget Angle was on TV just about every week before wrestling again when he had his knee surgery.
  25. Ah, that reminded me! Steiner being powerbombed (or something) out of his pants revealing his manly purple underwear.
