Which poster would you most like to hang out with?
DrVenkman PhD replied to Cheech Tremendous's topic in No Holds Barred
I'd like to meet no one, but that's because in real life I'm introverted and people make me uncomfortable. I've somewhat gotten over that in recent years, but it still takes some getting used to for me to actively speak with strangers. Former poster World's Worst Man kept suggesting I meet him when I was in Toronto and I'm sure we'd get along fine but then I get all scared at the prospect of meeting people. That said, I'm glad some people here would like to meet me and if you ignore all that stuff above, I'm sure I would enjoy meeting them too. -
You're on my secret shortlist, both because you sometimes say amusing one-liners in WWE land and I think I can count on you for votes. I currently have a list with some tremendous posters, including people named Matt and Chris, two Kings (and even another type of nobility, even though he misspells it with two r's and he can be a douche), a type of energy, and an astronaut. If you're not on the list, mellow out, I could only put 10, and when I do, it will likely be the first 10 name I think of - Asian youngsters might be a casualty in this battle (For those of you following along in code, the last line still included people likely getting a nod - NOW the non-nomination code begins)[/i]. Don't take offense if I have a personal policy barring siblings from the midwest being eligible. Some people are probably going to get a lot of nominations anyway and don't require additional milking from me. It also should not by a mystery why some of you weren't nominated, but feel free to be a fan of mine forever if you were before hand. If you were to google the stats from other tournaments, you'd see I may also be holding a grudge against you for giving me a worst poster vote for what I deemed to be an incredibly silly reason. Not to mention f'n Wisconsin - how messed up is that place? Very, according to a thread I once read.

Stupid, embarrassing shit you did as a kid
DrVenkman PhD replied to Cheech Tremendous's topic in No Holds Barred
In pre-school I once shoved a kid so the back of his head hit a wall. I did this because he was talking with 'my girl' (which seems like an odd thing to do at 4 years old, but I remember it being a very random act of violence after seeing him chatting with a girl named Lacy that I always talked to - the fact he was black had nothing to do with it all, I'm sure of that). I then apologized and we were all friends again the next day. I did other asshole things in pre-school too, but the only thing I really remember was kicking a beanbag or some toy over a fence when someone else was using it. There were apparently a lot of days I had to be put into another class to calm down. -
I find it funny that in 2009 we may be getting a Hardys vs. E&C tag match, but as a main event match/angle. I hope Christian is back at next week's Toronto taping. Maybe Gail Kim too. As it is, I read these every week for a sighting of either of them.

The thread was won here. For which line? It's the combination of both of them. A double dose of bringing the ha ha.

WWE General Discussion - December 2008
DrVenkman PhD replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
I thought the signature joke was funny. Yeah, if someone were to actually say, "Yo Kennedy! Can I have your signature?" there's no joke there for Ken to get, but for the audience HTQ was telling the joke for, it was funny. -
WWE 24/7 Classics OnDemand General Discussion

I hope it's the one where Andre punched Warrior in the face, but I suspect that was one of their untaped matches. I forget the details presented on the Warrior DVD about it. -
I found the run of 'so and so' is backstage notes pretty amusing, especially when Swagger mentioned a completely insane list and the response was "Crush is dead", as if Ahmed Johnson and co. were all really backstage, set for a dark match or TV appearance. Enigma and HTQ are getting catty too... so much dumb stuff all revolving around Enigma bitching at other people then getting mad that people bitch at him.

WWE 24/7 Classics OnDemand General Discussion

"Ring Royalty: Francine vs Beulah" - someone is going to have to explain that one to me. The September 87 Boston show sounds like it has a really dull card. The main event is Hogan vs. Killer Khan! It sounds like it fits the royalty theme with TSM's favourite Duke, Pete Doherty, retiring from the ring mid-show and becoming a commentator. I like that we're getting a 1994 Raw, though it looks pretty uninteresting. Still, I enjoy nostalgia. The 1989 MSG show has Bret Hart trying his best with Dino Bravo for and a 17 minute Jim Duggan vs. Savage match. It also has one of the Warrior/Andre squashes. -
That failed, nevermind.

"It actually makes it worst, because it's gimmicky like they tried to make the PPV worthwhile by giving Hardy the title" was the line I was focusing on. I understand your point, but really, shouldn't they be trying to make PPVs worthwhile? People do pay for these things.

Why are people selling Mario Kart for insane prices ($110 and upward) on Amazon.com?
-
Sad Jim Duggan is one of the best characters on Raw.

So wait, the Christmas attire isn't coming out before Christmas? Odd. Maybe it's cancelled, or will be in a separate pack next week. I was only going to get it if it was part of a grander package.
-
It was an amalgamation of what I had read. Maybe Canadian Destroyer said it, I don't know.

So I skimmed this (key word - SKIMMED), and this is what I took out of it: . I fully agree with this! In the future, WWE should try and book matches or create possibilities based on things that WON'T sell PPVs. They're just being silly otherwise.

Stupid, embarrassing shit you did as a kid

When a group of us were 8-10 years old, we'd have wrestling bouts in an upstairs attic on top of stacks of mattresses. That was stupid enough as it is (and thankfully no one was ever injured by taking a piledriver) but using thin drywall to simulate ropes? We had to spend a lot of time repairing gaping holes up there. -
Supermarket refuses to personalize birthday cake for 3 year old

Reminds me of the "Jesus Died For This?" cake we had made for a friend's birthday in 2003. The grocery store bakery girl thought it was funny though. -

I used to jump off the top of monkey bar structures in grade 4 or so (and take a bump) just to show people I could. That didn't last very long though. -
Most (well, all) of those details about what the kit really is or does and why it's worth $400 Canadian was not really explained in the Future Shop flyer, they just showed what appeared to be a 3rd party drum set with a huge price tag on it. It sounds kind of cool now, but pricey. I was playing RB2 with the GH:WT drums at a party on Saturday. I'm already terrible with the drums so that took some adjusting with the cymbal.

The person I used to have contact with at programming seemed to have a clue, but on the flip side he once picked out an Old School card because he thought Duke Doherty's commentary was hilarious (it was previously unheard on 24/7 up to that point, I believe). It was kind of funny.
