Okay, seriously now. How big is the space that you guys got? The one that we will get won't fit more than like two fucking sentences. Very short ones at that.

Figure that we might as well make a thread about this. Only three weeks, and the biggest potential money matchup in the UFC's history. Whether that potential is actualized is another matter altogether. Thought I might as well open up the discussion with a pick for every match and little snippet as to why I'd think they win. More in-depth answers coming later. Chuck Liddell v. Tito Ortiz Undisputed!? Undecided~! (Man I'm one PPV too late). Tim Sylvia v. Andrei Arlovski Steroids>>>No steroids Robbie Lawler v. Nick Diaz Upset pick; Diaz. Genki Sudo v. Mike Brown Sudo, Brown is dead and I never liked the Bengals anyway. CABBAGE~! v. Mike KylE???? What kind of a name is that? CABBAGE~! on that reason alone. Yves Edwards v. Hermes Franca Edwards, he can stand up and I heard that thugjitsu is super dangerous. Serious answers coming later, thought I'd just get the ball moving.

UFC 47: It's On

The reason Chuck lost those fights was due to his laidback style, and his lack of agression. Against Tito he pushed the fight and wasn't just relying on his counterpunching. Randy Couture made a similar statement, and it's true. What Chuck has to do to win those fights is just be more agressive and push the fight, give it to them. Look at how Wand beat Rampage; once they stood up again, he pressed on him and just went crazy with those knees until Rampage couldn't stand anymore. Chuck needs to show that kind of aggression. -

I claim Brazil. I won't even show up for meetings. I'll just stay at home and chill at Carnivale. -

Who the hell thinks the fight is fixed? This isn't PRIDE (RIMSHOT~!) Awesome card. Couture had line of the night when asked about their KO power: "Well, Chuck never really hit me, but you can tell from his OTHER fights that he has great KO power." Rogan: "What about Tito?" Couture: "Nah, he never hit me either." The main event proved two things; Ortiz is overrated, and simply isn't a great LHW. Chuck's wrestling is better, and his stand-up is worlds apart. Not to mention that Tito's "Submission Grappling" skills have never really been used. Who was the top opponent he beat, a green Wanderlei whom he layed and prayed for the victory. He would kill him in a rematch, but I digress. He doesn't excel in anything really, and he's the most hyped fighter ever. Who has he beaten? Evan Tanner? Ken Shamrock? The best was Yuki Kondo, and even that one was way too close and Yuki is not a top ten LHW. Liddell has figured out what made him lose his last two fights; his lack of agression. Think about it, he has made his career out of counter-punching, and he never pressed the fight in either of those two. Guy Mezger looked more dominant than Tito did yesterday because of this. Obviously Tito is better than Guy, but Chuck dictated the pace of the entire fight. Anyways, Chuck wasn't the Iceman yesterday, he was smiling all the way through, he actually looked to be getting up and down during his entrance, seemed really pumped, he showed emotion and was pissed off. If he can be as agressive in all his fights, I think he'd beat both Couture and Rampage in a rematch, although it wouldn't be nearly as dominant as yesterday. Anybody care to disagree? By the way, so does Liddell get a shot with Belfort, or the winner of Belfort/Couture III? I am sure though that his next fight will be for the LHW Title. Couture is good with the stick, as is Rogan. I hate Goldberg though. Franca won that fight. He pressed the fight and looked like he was the one that was trying to finish, I know the Judges' rule differently but it was plain as day who deserved the decision. Marked for the "Fighter/trainer" appearances. Rampage won't be fighting in the UFC anytime soon, but I hope that ALEX STEIBLING~! comes in. He's a great fighter, I really think he would make an impact in the LHW division. I don't know who to match him up with first though. As soon as I heard Lytle was from Indianapolis I knew we'd be getting an appearance from the Brazilian killer or whatever his nick is. -
I agree with Rudo about the weighting=sillyness. Besides, I'd lose. I'll just skip the picks and go straight to the self-deprecation. OMG IM SUCH AN IDIOT~! HOW COULD I PICK CHUCK LIDDELL?!?! OF COURSE HE WAS GONNA LOSE I SHOULD BET WITH MY HEAD NEXT TIME ARGHHH~!!!!!!!!

You're the draw of HD. If you didn't post in here, the population would cut in half in this folder, and with good reason. Do I really want to go into a thread where BBCW is talking about two posters that contend for worst on the board, and doesn't even include himself?

RRR mentioned the gambling sites yanking the fight. Wonder if they knew about this early or what. Anyways, hope they have a helluva backup plan (even though this isn't the signature fight it is still the scheduled 5 rounder). I KNEW ABOUT THAT BEE-YATCH~! Ahem, anyways, I have to say that I am not sure he did it again. He's not that stupid, odds are it's just traces from the first time he took it. Of course, if it's still in his system then they have no choice but to wait like four months before it will be gone. -
I love how you can just spout out crap like "one of the most memorable tracks in the modern era" and expect people to take such inane fluff seriously. Kim is a song where he talks about killing his wife. Brilliance indeed.

Outsourcing: Good or Bad in the long term?
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to a topic in Current Events
No, because in those countries, that IS a good wage. Why is it unfair? That's like saying moving a plant from NY to, say, SC is unfair because we have a far lower tax burden and a far less expensive work force. You want to keep the plant? Then you have to make yourself competitive. CLEARLY, $60,000/year is horribly over-valued for that job, as they don't seem to have a problem with quality when paying somebody a fraction of that. -=Mike Well, what's talked about in the article seems like a good use, but I'm referring to the places where they get paid in pennies a day. That's not a good wage, not to mention the fact that the conditions are terrible. But his comment about taking advantge of other countries is okay opened doors for that. Of course, if he doesn't take it that far, then by all means disregard. -

For another perspective, the people I watched it with said he was trying to look like Saint of Killers, a villain in a comic book called Preacher, who eventually kills God: It has the I'm a walking deadman" thing going for it, so it would most likely fit the bill. Onto MMA, the next eight participants are announced Wednesday. Yeah. You thought it was bland? I thought the LAW interview was alright. I felt for Chuck when The Mouth went: "Tito, you wore personalized shirts after you beat Mezger and Shamrock, so do you have a shirt planned to wear when you win on Friday?" Tito: "Oh man you're just as confident as I am!" -

Perhaps I'm looking at this the wrong way, but ethically, don't you see something wrong with not only taking advantage of people in other countries' shitty status? Is there nothing wrong with the sweatshops that Nike runs? That's not with what this "new" wave of outourcing (with white-collar programming jobs among those supposedly being lost). For example, Hungarian computer programmers start at $4,800 a year; American programmers start at $60,000 yet in Hungary, that $4,800 would buy a comfy middle-class lifestyle. Oh I know what this is about, but he pointed out that businesses would be foolish to not take advantage of lower wages in other countries for the same work. Of course, considering that that sweatshops run by Nike falls under this criteria, I thought it was a little harsh to put it lightly. Normally I'd think he doesn't believe that, but I'm not so sure. -

I thouht Lindland wasn't welcome back. I mean, he's written rants about how stupid the UFC was for not resigning him and has taken potshots at other writers who thought it was a good idea as they are pro-Baroni. Guess he was wrong. -
I don't care if they were really that fucked up, or if they really went through what they did. Find a creative way of expressing yourself. I *hate* DMX, Linkin Park, and Korn. But that's because their music is shitty, and the lyrics are tired.

Apparently two premier betting agencies have taken the Tim Sylvia v. Arlovski match out of their site. That can either mean that the bets were too one-sided, or that the fight is in danger of being taken off the card, for whatever reason. -

CSI Miami>CSI The Original The only shows I really watch on TV these days are are all "Cop Drama". CSI and it's spinoffs, Without A Trace (feat. Stephen Quadros....for one episode), and Law And Order when I get a chance. It's kinda weird actually.
