Things that annoy the shit out of you
B. Brian Brunzell replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in Music
Those people should be clubbed repeatedly over the face. Or at least have their vocal chords removed in a violent fashion so I won't have to hear their garbage spewing from their mouths. -
I can't remember ever seeing a "closers" thread, so I figured I'd start one for shits and giggles. Anyway, what are your favourite album closers? Mine: "Chonkyfire"- OutKast "Indifference"- Pearl Jam "Jugband Blues"- Pink Floyd "Would?"- Alice In Chains "Diary of a Madman"- Ozzy
-
"Thumbing My way"- Pearl Jam

The best band name I've heard in a LONG time is Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.

Things that annoy the shit out of you

I absolutely abhor it when at work, in MY FUCKING CD PLAYER, some douchebag will take out the cd I was enjoying and either turn on the radio to the local top-40 station or put in something like Nelly or Ja Rule. But, since it's my cd player, I just tell them to fuck off and put in my cd again. Bunch of savages in St. Clairsville, I tells ya. -
Four of 'em this week so far: I also bought KRS-One's Keep Right, but there was no cover at Allmusic.

I've always been a huge fan of "The Lovecats" for some reason.

Wrong album. That's the theme to "Wish You Were Here".... "Dark Side of the Moon" is all about the descent into insanity. The members of Pink Floyd were still dealing with the loss of Syd Barrett, who's struggle with mental illness resulted in him leaving the band and becoming a hollow and very much broken man and that was basically the overall theme of DSOTM.... Yeah, my bad. It's kind of nice to know that Syd was the basis for two of The Floyd's biggest albums though. I love the stories of Syd showing up during the recording of Wish You Were Here and listening to "Shine On You Crazy Diamond." They played the song for him, and he had no idea that the piece was written for him, even though it's rather obvious. Then, Syd went to Dave Gilmour's wedding and freaked everyone out by oggling Dave's new bride all night before basically vanishing. Why do all the geniuses go crazy?

Check out Pornography as well.

I figured with the "best openers" and "best closers" threads, why not do a best opening lines to albums thread? I got a few: Teenage angst has payed off well/ Now I'm bored and old --Nirvana- "Serve the Servants"; In Utero When I was young I was invincible/ I'd find myself not thinking twice --Social Distortion- "Reach for the Sky"; Sex, Love & Rock N' Roll In France a skinny man died of a big disease with a little name/ By chance his girlfriend came across a needle and soon she did the same --Prince- "Sign O' the Times"; Sign O' the Times Tell me true, tell me why was Jesus crucified?/ Was it for this that daddy died? --Pink Floyd- "The Postwar Dream"; The Final Cut Hands on the Bible/ Scared liek a child/ God holds you libel/ For what you've done --Local H- "Hands on the Bible"; Here Comes the Zoo

"I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man"- Prince

I was surprised to see Chad Smith so low. He really is one hell of a drummer.

Big Punisher was more talented then Biggie n Pac

Rakim is still my GOAT as far as rappers go. -
BLS really needs to take a year or so off from making albums. All their touring and the yearly release of albums ave really effected Zakk's not-so-good voice.

I know (who's behind the door...who's behind the door?)/ Suddenly decide to listen to me/ Falling from the interior --Devin Townsend- "Depth Charge"; Accelerated Evolution

Top Three Most Played Albums in Recent Weeks
B. Brian Brunzell replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in Music
Interpol- Antics: I've basically been listening to this album at least once a day since I bought it in November. Social Distortion- Sex, Love & Rock N' Roll: It seems as thogh I can't go a day without hearing "Angel's Wings" and "Highway 101." Easily the most upbeat and optimistic Social D album. Mike Ness just gets better with age. Blackalicious- Blazing Arrow: Gift of Gab is all you need. -
That was definitely the best sign I've seen in a long time.
-
You're so funny
-
Oh HELL YES! That's a great ending to a great fucking album.
-
Told ya that album rules all.

My uncle and I use Garage Band and our mixing board for laying down tracks. I've heard decent things about Cool edit though.
-
He's not anything anymore.

I found a harmonica in my basement. Neat.
B. Brian Brunzell replied to The Czech Republic's topic in Music
I love the harmonica. It's one of my favourite instruments, up there with the piano. I only wish I knew how to play... -
I saw him on Conan recently and he still sounded pretty good. His band was very tight as well.

I always thought that "The Call of Ktulu" was a good closer as well.
