  1. I'd like to see the White Sox hold on to Maggs, but that seems HIGHLY unlikely. He'll be healthy, and som eteam not from Chicago will offer him a good-to-great deal, and the Sox will pass and let their best player go.
  2. Well, right now I say "Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk", but come tourney time, I'll be disappointed. AGAIN.
  3. "Intertiatic ESP"- The Mars Volta
  4. It was a pretty good episode. Seeing a giant douche in a debate made the show worth watching. That, and the olive on the turd sandwich. Well, that, and Diddy's crew killing PETA.
  5. That Grace Legacy Edition was the best release of 2004. Grateful Dead - Casey Jones I think so too, though Social Distortion's Sex, Love, & Rock N' Roll is up there. I also think "Foget Her" is the best think Buckley ever wrote. Anyway: "Gravity Rides Everything"- Modest Mouse
  6. I tried to talk my friend Mary into going together as Jesus the Pimp and Mary Magdeline, but she's apparently not down for sacrelige. Speaking of Jesus, I had an idea to go as Greaser Jesus, and it goes like this: Instead of a robe, wear a floor-length wifebeater. Then, put on a pair of Doc Maten's. Dye your hair black and slick it back. And when you go to flash the "Peace" sign to friends and other Halloween partygoers, BAM~!, out pop two switchblades.
  7. "I Want Someone Badly"- Jeff Buckley w/ Shudder To Think
  8. At home it's looking up towards the foothills of the Appalachians at sunset. It's and even better view in the winter, what with the snow covered trees and all. At work, it these two pale-skinned women I work with, both of whom have rather nice backsides. And the view from the front ain't bad eiter.
  9. Damnstraight. If Jim had gone to the doctor, rather than be a REAL MAN, he might still be alive.
  10. I'm headed down there as well. My aunt and uncle with whom I live own a costume shop, so I'm gonna get all decked out. I'm thinking of dressing up as a priest in full-on Mass garb, then fashioning a couple of altar boy outfits to the legs, complete with heads and feet. I'm gonna put them at just below balls-level, so that when I walk, their heads will move.
  11. Most every place in The Valley is having Trick-or-Treating on Sunday. I know it's from 6:30-7:30 here in Wheeling. Bellaire, OH is the only place I know of doing it on Saturday. At least that's what I was told.
  12. The Top Five from Albums I've Recently Purchased Edition: 5. "Shutterbug"- Veruca Salt 4. "Factory Girls"- Flogging Molly 3. "Ain't No Half Steppin'"- Big Daddy Kane 2. "Footprints On My Ceiling"- Social Distortion 1. "Forget Her"- Jeff Buckley
  13. "Blue Train"- John Coltrane
  14. Damn, I hope Silvervision ships to the US. The only copy of Canadian Stampede I have is dubbed copy from OrangeGoblin, and it's starting to wear out. I need a new copy. BAD.
  15. "Love Stinks", I believe, was a pretty decent hit for The J. Geils Band as well.
  16. Might as well get drunk. Hell, a few shots of Jameson's might cure ya right up. At least you'll be drunk, so being sick won't seem so bad...
  17. I remember that ep of "Storytellers" as well. The best part about that was them playing "Kitchenware adn Candy Bars", which in my opinion is the best STP song ever.
  18. I also had similar symptoms last winter. I caugt that death flu taht was going around. I ran a 100+ temperature for two weeks, coughing and weezing the enire time with a occasional bout of puking. It was probably the worst illness I ever had. When I told my aunt that since I' saw B.B. King, I could die happy, I never meant it. But I tell ya, during those two weeks, death would have been nice.
  19. "3rd Planet"- Modest Mouse
  20. I also blame the years of boozing, smoking and heroin. They have KILLED his voice.
  21. "Reach for the Sky"- Social Distortion
  22. I don't know, but I hear that they're still talking about a Bret Hart DVD
  23. Holy fuck. I was there live for that, and the energy in the Rosemont was unbelieveable. During the beatdown of Rock, Hall's pop for the Razor's Edge was INSANE.

    De La Soul

No way Banky........explaination??? They were unaffected by all the hip hop bullshit. They seem to ahve a Neptunes-ish influence now. Dela was doing the Roots Illadelph gimmick before they were with Stakes is High. After that, it just seemed liek they were on a steady decline to nothingness. Even The Roots seem to be leaning towards a more typical "Hip-Hop" sound now. I like The Tipping Point pretty well, but the mainstream Hip-Hop influence in today's market can be heard throught the album, with the exception of "Star." That's old-school Roots.
  25. Brian Wilson and Loretta Lynn aren't the best examples, even for not sounding like Waits or Radiohead, Edwin. EVERYONE knows of Wilson's genius. A retarded monkey strung out on heroin could listen to Wilson and know that brilliance is coming through the speakers. And Loretta Lynn has been putting out acclaimed albums for years as well.
