I never met anyone that said "WTF".

I just can't imagine the draft being reinstated. Imagine the absolute BACKLASH that the President, and those prominent politicans responsible for this act, were to face for bringing back the draft. Their political careers would be immediately over, and it's very reasonable to think that such an issue could, in a way, somewhat shut down the country - the amount of protests that would occur around the country would be huge. The memories of Vietnam have not been forgotten, and the current parents/grandparents that had to deal with the television coverage or the actual wartime service at that time will be INSANELY protective of their children going through the same thing. Reinstating the draft would be worth WAY, WAY more trouble than it's worth. Chalk me up for erroneous rumor.

Perhaps it's the fact that they both killed somebody, then tried to cover it up. Admittedly, one of them was more successful at covering-up the murder than the other one was, but similiarities can definitely be drawn between both cases. Perhaps it is also the fact that they are both wealthy African-Americans who used their money to basically buy their innocence. It's fairly obvious that both committed murders, but it's very possible that neither of them will face jailtime. The same might not be said for any middle-class person facing the same charges.

Well, at least I ended that nonsense. I'm shocked he couldn't pull it off - SHOCKED, I SAY~!~!

Javy perfect through four?? Oh shit, I hope I didn't jinx it.....

Well, to be honest, the prosecution didn't fully convince me that the murder was completely intentional. I still feel that the actual killing was an accident. Thinking about it realistically, why would Jayson Williams choose THAT TIME - when his mansion was filled with a whole bunch of friends/witnesses - to finally kill a limosuine driver? It's silly to think that he planned it all out, and then actually thought he could get away from it scot-free. The way I see it, the murder was unintentional. But still.....a murder happened, and it happened in a stupid, reckless way. I can't say I completely disagree with the jury ruling today. He definitely should have been convicted of all the evidence-tampering and witness-tampering offenses. This can't be disputed. Williams saw what he did, freaked out like many would, and tried to cover it up without thinking of the consequences. So, obviously, there's no doubt that he was guilty of this. I would also hope that he's convicted of Reckless Manslaughter, because that is EXACTLY what has been proven to happen. He killed the limo driver, and he did it in a insanely idiotic way by spinning his gun around and showing it off to his friends. It was incredibly reckless and it wound up killing the driver unintentionally, so I would hope Jayson winds up guilty of this as well. Yet, I just can't agree that he should be convicted of aggravated manslaughter. I do hope that Jayson Williams winds up going to prison for a few years. He still did something incredibly stupid by showboating with the gun, and then actually tried to lie about it and cover up the entire incident. This is something that needs to be punished. And, truth be told, if this was a normal person without the fame of Jayson Williams and without his financial sources for a defense team, he would definitely be sent to jail for a while. It's improbable to think that a middle-class man, after facing all these charges and being convicted of four - possibly five - of them would be given Probation, so I do hope Williams isn't given special treatment. All in all, should Jayson have been convicted of the most serious charge in aggravated manslaughter? I don't think so. Should he have been convicted of the tampering charges? Absolutely. Should he be convicted of reckless manslaughter? In my opinion, yes. And should he be sent to jail for a little while? Definitely. In the eyes of the court, there should be NO special treatment - and hopefully, it will work out that way this time.

So, wait just one second..... ............ ............ ............ ......who's holding Ripper's shirt now?

I would LIKE to put on: #1 Contender's Match for the OAOAST Puerto Rican Title Drek Stone vs. ?????? -Somebody hit me up on PM if they're interested. Otherwise, I'll have to squeeze Mike Hunt into that spot......which means more terrible Coach jokes. I don't think anyone here wants that.

-The Zack/Crystal/Calvin stuff at the end was great. The pacing of it was perfect and, although it was possible to see it coming, the actual consequences of it occurring just made it seem like it was the type of event that would never happen. I look forward to heel Zack in the future, and just what kind of stuff he could have planned. -The Tag Team Tourney, from what I read, was solid. I didn't get to read over the entire thing, but I made sure to skim over every match, and they all seemed like they had positives. Liked the fact that Dan Black and T-Bod went over in the final round because that means more of one thing.....JIVIN JIM ROSS~!~! -Loved the Bryte/Tina wedding. In fact, I've been feeling the whole Love Triangle since I've started reading it. Bryte's turn on Tina was shocking, and his beatdown of Tina afterwards made him seem like a real bastard. Very well-done heel turn and a very well-done angle. Just great. -As for the rest, I really liked it. Very enjoyable card tonight.....ESPECIALLY that Drek/Cappa segment lost somewhere in the middle. Man, that's guaranteed to be a CRAZY feud!!

Nik, I'm going to have to completely agree with Fear Havoc on this one. You are much too strict in the WWE Folder, to the point where it's now becoming less fun to even post there. Not every thread needs to stay on-topic. Some of them wind up branching out into different subjects, which is just natural. It's unrealistic to expect a thread based on a possible Randy Orton angle to NOT branch out into a discussion on his interview skills, wrestling ability, etc. The fact that you feel the need to censor any conversation that deviates from the original post is unneeded, and it's getting to the point where it hampers conversation. Admittedly, there have been some threads where there has been some annoying flaming going on between two or three people that extends for nearly half a page. This is the kind of stuff that needs changing, and probably the kind of stuff that should be addressed by a moderator. However......in some cases, it can become meddlesome. Immediately warning somebody for including a sarcastic remark addressed at another poster here or there is unnecessary since, many times, it doesn't escalate further than that and it just naturally cools down. When you find the need to address it in a strict and angry manner, it winds up creating different problems. I can't help but feel that in many of your posts, you're talking down to the WWE Folder posters, treating them as if they're inferior. The Folder needs moderators that are there to smooth things out when they become a problem. I don't think it needs people that dictate what a conversation will become, or people that have taken on the responsibility of parenting the regular WWE Members. Nik, I'm not saying you're doing a terrible job of moderating, but I do think you definitely need to lighten up. TSM, and specifically the WWE Folder, should be a place where people could feel free to relax, discuss issues, joke around, etc. You're forgetting about the relaxing part, which is taking away from one of the main reasons I come here in the first place. Just let things take their course in certain topics instead of dictating the course it should take.

How could you not like that? There were so many different topics that Lemmycake had yet to encounter.....

I have nothing personal against George. I just think he's terrible. 1) In the past three weeks, the caliber of his singing has gone down TREMENDOUSLY. He's struggling to hit notes, he's constantly in the wrong key, he's flailing about on the stage as if he's having a seizure. His performances have just been awful. Yes, worse than John Peter Lewis on the week he was booted. And MUCH worse than Jennifer Hudson last week. We're getting to the point where he has no business being in the competition any longer. 2) In my opinion, many aspects of his character are an act, or at least played up huge for the cameras. To be quite honest, the guy honestly looks like he's mentally retarded. You look at this face and you can tell there is absolutely nothing going on his brain. Plus, he can't help but make the absolute dumbest facial expressions when someone's talking to him. Simon's trying to critique his performance tonight, and there's George with widened eyes.....goofy smile.....comments under his breath.....enough already, There may be quite a problem if a 16-year-old is absolutely schooling you on showing some kind of poise on stage. At this point, he's one of the bottom two in the competition, only above John Stevens. And America loves him? I certainly don't. What you say is happening with Fantasia and LaToya is EXACTLY the same thing that's happening with George. The judges are trying to shove him down our throats. Every week, no matter how terrible his performance is, Paula or Simon make sure to mention that George's happiness is "infectious" and "that America is in love with him." It's almost as if they're attempting to convince the public that we should vote for George, regardless of his perfomances.....like they seem to be doing with Fantasia and LaToya. I understand that you like George, and that his roots in Oklahoma may have something to do with it. But don't kid yourself by saying that he's the best singer in the competition or that's a conspiracy to hold him down. He's been getting wide judge support since he came as a replacement, and his performances in the past few weeks have been downright horrible. If he's not gone this week, he should certainly be finished by next week.

Well, there's no excuse for Joe McEwing actually being a starting player. They did a piss-poor job planning in the offseason if we need to rely on "Worthless" Joe to start an early rally for the team. Let him feel free to hop around all he wants. Just keep him out of the Batter's Box. As for Reyes and his injury that just doesn't seem to heal, the Mets should really make sure to hang an Alfonso Soriano picture in his locker. Maybe that could get him to come back a little quicker...... And, ah yes, perhaps it can soon be time for everyone else in New York to finally realize that John Franco absolutely sucks, and that the guy was never really any good to begin with. Not many people have come to this realization yet. Brooklyn, New York. Home of Keyspan Park and the Brooklyn Cyclones, which are well known for the rabid five fans that they have.

I completely agree. I'm insanely jealous of success.

Diana's performance blew me away. In fact, it pissed me off that the judges didn't give her more compliments. Ask Paula about George or Fantasia, and you can't get her to shut up from blabbering. But Diana puts out an awesome performance tonight, and suddenly, Paula is short on words. Fuck that. The judges already have their biased opinions of who should be the Last 2 finalists, and that was really exposed with the final performance tonight. Ranking of performances: 1. Diana 2. LaToya 3. Fantasia 4. Jasmine 5. George 6. John Bottom Three tomorrow night: Jasmine George LaToya I'm going to give the people the benefit of the doubt and predict they're smart enough to vote out George (or John).

There you go. Well, I understand that no-gimmick-accounts was part of Tom's rules when he opened up registration. I already KNOW that he wrote it out, and that was what he wanted. There's no argument to that. But again, my question is why this rule was created in the first place. I've never seen it as much of a danger in the first place, and it adds several aspects of humor to the forum. I don't see WHY they've been competely banished - I just know that they have been. It's certainly not a life-or-death issue, but I think it'd be nice to know why this rule was created.
-
That would be a good answer.....if it answered the original question. Why? Why absolutely no gimmick posters?
-
But could you explain just WHY these gimmick posters are being banned? Lemmycake and The Colonel had some aspects of humor to them and, let's face it, they aren't harming anybody. In fact, the two of them have been among the more intelligent new accounts since registration was reopened. Why are the humorous accounts on this board being immediately banned? As far as I can tell, having gimmick posters like Abobo and George Costanza weren't the downfall of this board, and they didn't look like they were going to be anytime soon. So why this sudden crackdown on gimmick posters when....a) They're not hurting anybody, not flaming anybody, not causing any huge board disruptions, not causing any problems whatsoever......b) Worse posters are being allowed to remain.
-
You could tell we're not in Canada anymore. Benoit actually got more boos than cheers for putting the Sharpshooter on Shawn Michaels.
-
Bah, Steve Somers is the best sports host on WFAN. He doesn't take himself seriously, he actually adds some HUMOR to his broadcasts, and he lets the callers do the speaking instead of constantly interrupting them. Which is the exact opposite of Mike Francesca and Christopher Russo. I really can't stand either one of them.
-
Harley Race is a bastard. Thanks to him, WWE never puts out those Stunt Grannies or Autograph Book Children anymore. THOSE were the aspects of professional wrestling that made it magical - and he RUINED it.
-
Raw's a little slow tonight. I think they need to recruit somebody that can really HEAT up the action. Somebody that was even too WILD for TSM. That's it. Next week, they need to introduce the new GENERAL MANAGER OF RAW: LEMMYCAKE!!
-
Hmmmm....Eugene chanted "Gore! Gore! Gore!" and "USA! USA! USA!" before walking away. .......I still don't know who's the better announcer.
