How is that stupid? If both wrestlers are on the weakest panel on the cell and it breaks, what do you expect to happen? One wrestler walk on air? UYI The idea isn't stupid, but the execution is. You could be lifting the guy for the Pedigree on the panel and all of a sudden, the roof breaks, he falls, and you hang on to the panel thing. You don't see the move being done through the roof which, in my opinion, just kind of lessens the whole idea of breaking through the paneling. Especially if you're doing a move like a powerbomb or something when you're not even standing on that particular panel. I would just like to see the move being done, crashing all the way from the roof to the ring. It might not be totally realistic for some moves but since when have Smackdown games been completely realistic anyway?
-
Damn, what were they thinking when they came up with that CAW idea? And because I can't get to my PS2 right now, could someone answer my question? When you break someone through the roof of the Hell-In-The-Cell, does it still do that stupid "both-people-fall-through-but-someone-holds-onto-the-panel" thing? Even if you do a move like a Super Powerbomb or something where you're not even standing on the panel? I wish they would fix that. -And did anyone ever find out if you can do that Rey Misterio "swinging-from-the-Elimination-Chamber-huricarana" move? I'm very interested in seeing about that also. After playing the game all last night, I have to say - once you get the hang of it, it's a REALLY fun game. A solid 9 out of 10 - but better than No Mercy? Possibly. THQ did a great job this time around.
-
Well, I assume mostly everyone thought Matt was going to win the game when, in reality, it turned out to be Hutch. So there ya go. You were "dead wrong" on this "twist ending."
-
Was a nice, happy ending, if not a little unclimactic. But I'm happy for Matt that he got to keep all that stuff. He really seems like a good guy.
-
Another question: Is it basically impossible to knock down the referee now? Whenever I try to hit him with a clothesline, he quickly gets out of the way. And when I try to do a grapple move to him, he just knocks me away from him. The only time I did knock him down was when my frog splash hit both him and the opponent at the same time. Other than that, I'm not really sure how to get him knocked out. This game is fun and all - but A LOT more frustrating than SYM. A LOT MORE!
-
Well, obviously. You're using the easiest one in the game
-
True, but I don't think that's possible to do in the season, is it? And I assume things would be the same way? And that doesn't solve the whole chest-color thing....not to mention, if my meter goes up faster, his will go up EVEN faster. Turning up the meter in exhibition matches doesn't seem to solve much.
-
Okay, is there something in this game I'm missing? I'm RVD going against the Big Show. Literally, I did dozens of moves to him and his chest region is only in the yellow, and my Smackdown meter is only filled half-way. He does about 5 moves, has my chest in orange, and fills up the meter already. Is this game SUPPOSED to be ridiculously impossible when it comes to that, or is there some alternate strategy with RVD that I haven't picked up yet? I mean, if this is how the season goes when you pick one of the smaller guys, fuck that. Using Goldberg and Brock and all is fun, but once you try to pick a smaller guy, the game just turns into non-stop frustration.
-
Coffey, I think I know why you think this game is so difficult. It's very hard to get the hang of this, but the key things to remember is: Start off with running attacks like the kicks and clotheslines. Then, when it comes to grappling, right and O attacks first. Those are the weakening ones. So do right-and-O, then up-and-O or down-and-O, etc. Weaken him up with that. Then after you start hurting him a little bit, go for the other moves like power moves and signature moves. If you start with power moves right off the bat, they'll just keep getting reversed and you'll get your ass kicked like I did the first few matches. Keep in mind for grapples: Up-And-O: Power Moves Right-And-O: Weakening Moves Left-And-O: Signature Moves Down-And-O: Submission Moves Good luck.

Must have been a wonderful day. -Stephanie playing the part of a lovely, blushing bride. -The McMahon family all gathered to celebrate a special occasion. -Michael Hayes making an idiot of himself. -Booker T dancing for dem dere white folks, cause "that's what his people do" -Mick Foley stuffing brownies in his face during the entire reception -Vince staring at his daughter's cleavage. -The chords of U2's "Beautiful Day" playing through the entire wedding and the party afterwards. Ah, now THAT'S a wedding.

Whoa. Creative. You took my sig and switched it around to make a clever joke at my expense. Man, who writes your material, because he deserves a raise. I mean, really. You took my sig, plugged my name into it, and then switched it around to create a whole series of outrageous puns. What a clever, clever person you are. Comedic gold. I find it hard to believe that you haven't been immediately signed to be a comedy writer on Jay Leno - because that's how hilariously original and funny you are. Oh, man, I'm still going crazy laughing. How unbelievably clever. And, as for the other part of your post, nah, it's not that pathetic. I just heard a lie said about me, and I felt I had an obligation to correct it. I don't need to "prove" that I'm funny on a message board. On my list of priorities, shockingly, it doesn't come too high. But he said something that wasn't true and I figured, hell, why not show him that he was wrong. Don't worry, won't happen again. Instead, I'll attempt to whore myself out to the message board and grab some attention by creating a blog that a good number of posters don't even give a flying fuck about.....no wait, that's been done already too. At first, I didn't know why you decided to get involved until I realized - you are TSM's Attention Whore. If the attention is not on you, you make desperate attempts to shine the spotlight on you as quickly as possible. Which explains the TSM blog. And the cock thread. So please, are you done arguing with me here in this thread now ? Or enough people haven't listened to your wacky, outrageous comments yet? Let me know, bud. And oh yeah, by the way, nice math skills. Might want to go back and brush up on your subtraction. 5 days?!

...Compared to topics where there's talk about...steel plates to block ass raping...nothing can get gayer than this. All we need now is an appearance by the Game, and this could win TSM Gay Topic of the Year~! HEY! I'll have you know that the "steel plate to block assraping" thing is quoted in TWO sigs. Not one, but TWO of them. What exactly have YOU ever done to bring laughter and merriment here? Posted a picture of yourself claiming that, "I shaved today"? Oh, that's right, you've done jack shit. Step off son, step off. Uh, dude.....I don't exactly know what you're mad at right now. I never said the quote was stupid or horribly unfunny.....I said it was gay. Would you like to deny the fact that the quote is gay? Oh, I guess that's what I did to offend you, huh? Fine. Let me correct myself. Congratulations justsoyouknow, that was the absolute most heterosexual comment I've ever read. Would you like a trophy or a medal? Next time, read the fucking post over before you post something that bitches about comments not even said. And as for the "not-bringing-laughter" thing: From the Raw thread this past Monday night And, not that it bothers me in the slightest, I'm not 14. Like I've said already. But WHOA, I look young for my age. BURN!!! But go ahead. Why let facts stop you in your non-sensical bitching? Maybe what you should do is step the fuck off. Seriously.

So let's see..... Brock/Goldberg Kane/Taker Angle/Benoit HHH/Orton Foley/Vince If this is what WWE is planning for WrestleMania XX, THE BIGGEST PAY PER VIEW OF ALL TIME, then it's going to be a huge fucking failure. Brock/Goldberg is fine. It's a dream match for some, something fresh, and it's easily presentable for putting on a WrestleMania card. And Foley/Vince....with the right kind of build-up, Foley's return match at a Mania is understandable. But the rest.... Kane/Taker - Been done. To death. I don't care if they've gone through character changes. We've seen the matches. They sucked already. Will this be different? Angle/Benoit - Been done. To death. Again. They put on good matches, sure, but this is the Heavyweight Title match at the biggest PPV of all time?? Something that has been done 140560 times? Is it too much to ask to get something CREATIVE done? And HHH/Orton - don't even get me started on that atrocity being put as the Raw Main Event at WrestleMania. The Quad-Tearing Cripple vs. The Unover Wonder. Amazing. The way things are going, MSG will possibly shit all over this card. This is supposed to be the #1 Supercard ever. But look at what's being given. Absolutely no fucking effort. Whatsoever.

AND WILL BE WED IN HOLY MATRIMONY. PERFORMING THE CEREMONIES WILL BE: ALL THE PREPARATIONS WERE PROVIDED BY: Congratulations to the lovely couple!!

Of course. Compared to topics where there's talk about ass raping, steel plates to block ass raping, and guys posting pictures of their cocks on the Internet, nothing can get gayer than this. All we need now is an appearance by the Game, and this could win TSM Gay Topic of the Year~!

I'm surprised he didn't suggest that Orton get implants to fill himself out. And Bagwell, you were no freak, nor were you capable of having a hell of a match. You have to be kidding. That match when he punched the ring crew guy in the neck was at least ***. I mean, it really put Buff over and showed that he ain't going to take shit from ANYBODY - unless they have a water bottle in their hand. But then, following the Buff/Ring Guy match, there was one even better. The Cops/Buff was a ***** classic. It showed that, as big and bad a heel that Buff may be, he will earn his comeuppance in the end. To see Buff taken out in handcuffs riled the crowd up and really turned business around for WCW. If there was ANYBODY that was capable of having a hell of a match, it was the one and only "American Male" Buff Bagwell. I guess I'm the only one here who has the guts to give props to Buff and Judy, the Golden Couple of Wrestling.

I'll believe a Brock/Benoit Title match at Survivor Series when I see it. I see them veering more towards something like a Fatal Fourway Elimination match between Brock, Angle, Cena, and Benoit for the Heavyweight Title. They COULD put Benoit in a title match at such a big PPV - but knowing WWE, they probably won't. And as for that WWE Cruiserweight Survivor Series-style match, HA! This is Vince McMahon, hoss-lover, we're talking about, aren't we? Vince has no loyalty towards putting any of those guys on a PPV, maybe with the exception of Gowan. This kind of match I can't ever see happen. Maybe something like Tajiri/Hardy/Moore vs. Rey/Kidman/Gowan, and given like 5 minutes, but more than that - probably never. Just not in the plans for Survivor Series - not when we have 2 MALE MCMAHON MATCHES IN ONE NIGHT, BY GAWD!! When it comes to Vince's PPV cards, don't be overly optimistic. Don't be overly pessimistic. Just be realistic. If almost all these cruiserweights didn't even get on Smackdown-only Vengeance or No Mercy, why the fuck would they get on Survivor Series?
-
But according to the spoilers, Heyman later changes it because of the disrespect TWGTT showed him. Thanks, Paul.
-
If this is how the shows are going to be with Heyman as the Smackdown GM.....as sad as it is to say.... BRING BACK STEPHANIE!! The most inexcusable part of the show is making the BASHAMS the Tag Team Champions. What the fuck are they thinking?! So unover......but wait, Shaniqua's got boobs now. PUSH TO DA MAX!!!
-
But beating Hogan CLEANLY in the days where that NEVER happened is something to brag about. Er, didn't Flair slide in a steel chair, and Taker tombstoned Hogan on the steel chair to get the win and the title? Not exactly a clean win.....
-
Probably not. This is Benoit screwing up, so people wouldn't remember such a thing. You must have dreamed it.

Yeah, being that I'm pretty much only a NY Mets and NY Jets fan, I haven't had too much to celebrate when it comes to championships (didn't see the 86 World Series). But it was awesome in 2000 to watch the Mets win the NL championship....then of course, lose to the Yankees soon enough. The Mets winning the league would be my MLB highlight and as for the NFL.....well, I guess when the Jets got to the AFC Championship game.....then lost to the Broncos. Last year was pretty good too, with everything falling into place for the Jets in the last week of the season, opening up a playoff spot for them despite a 2-5 start. But still dammit, no World Championships I've been able to witness for either team yet! Let's see.....Mets fan.....Jets fan.....RVD fan.....god damn, I just can't make winning easy for myself, huh?

Kenny Rogers walking Andruw Jones with the bases loaded in the 11th inning of Game 6 of the 1999 NL Championship series to give Atlanta the pennant and send the Mets home. Heartbreaking. Of course, the next year, we have Armando Blownitez blowing a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the 9th against the Yankees in Game 1 of the World Series. Partly Timo's fault, but Benitez couldn't save any game that was worth a damn. Basically killed the Mets from that point on. Then, watching Al Leiter walk off the mound in game 5 after turning a 2-2 tie into a 4-2 Yankee lead was heartbreaking too. Mets fans could tell at that point that the dream was over, and Leiter looked really broken up and disappointed over the whole thing. Of course, there's also Benitez killing a strong Mets rush for a playoff spot in 2001. Only behind by a few games, and looking unstoppable, Benitez blew an important game against Atlanta - and the Mets wound up missing out. Let's not even mention the eternal disappointment that the 2002 season turned out to be. It sucks to be a Cubs and a Sox fan. But being a Mets fan isn't easy either...

Good review, but then again, I think you underrated the Rey/Tajiri and Angle/Cena match. And the Vince/Steph match, as disturbing as it was, didn't deserve -***. Wasn't planned too bad at all. Yet, I AM happy that somebody else besides me didn't find the Taker/Brock match all that great. I thought it was just okay, but I came online and people were praising it as if it was in the running for match of the year. ** sounds about right to me, so I'm happy with that rating. And.... My Opinion: This match was disappointing, but the fact that it was a Biker Chain match pretty much guaranteed it. These guys went about 15-20 minutes of mostly slow brawling with the only bright spot being some new moves used by both men. There weren’t any real believable falls because no one honestly would think that the match would end without the chain coming into play. Then there’s the lights going out for no reason… I think that was part of Vince's plan so he could run down to the ring and hide under the apron, only to come out at the end. Dames, were you paying attention to the PPV at all?

Well, the Cubs have been in the world series...as have the Marlins, and hey, lookie, the Sox as well. Maybe all four should have forfeited ther spots to Tampa and Colorado. And according to my "Gone "fishin'" pullout, the storyline is "the classic match of the haves and the have nots." Take it for what it's worth. As for Anaheim and San Fran, well, can you get behind a team that wave red dildos See, if you weren't grasping for straws in your argument, you would realize that this comment was based on sarcasm, as this makes the 6th out of 8 times that the Yankees have appeared in the World Series. What makes this year so much more interesting than the other 5 years they were in, and the 4 years they won? This was the first time Marlins made it in the Series since 1997, first time the Sox would have made it since 1986, and the first time Cubs would have made it since 1945. Obviously, none of these match up to 2001, and 2000 before that.....and 99 before that...well, and 98 before that..... We see the same shit every year (besides Anaheim's fluke least year) when it comes to the American League. What is there to be excited about ?!?! Give me the parity and the unpredictability of the NFL anyday. This Series is all about what COULD have been and what WOULD have been...and what we were actually given was a huge disappointment and letdown to many. Excuse us for not being excited at the prospect of seeing the Yankees win the World Series - FINALLY - after a pause of 3 years!! *whew* Getting excited thinking of it already. The series is lacking any anticipation that the playoffs had and were delivering on. Soon enough, the TV ratings would support that. It could be the greatest Series in history - but, just like the impressive Angels/Giants series from last year, not many will care. .....And the Angels have the RALLY MONKEY!! How can you NOT support that animal?! Crazy.
