National television schedule for this week. Only one regional timeslot for ABC. I'm not going to try to figure out if everyone actually can see every FSN game listed. No real marquee match-up this week (Iowa/Michigan probably would have been it but both are limping into this one) but we are starting to get into regular conference play. THURSDAY #4 Miami at Houston, 7:45/4:45 PM, ESPN FRIDAY Bowling Green at Northern Illinois, 7:00/4:00 PM, ESPN2 BYU at #21 Boise State, 10:00/7:00 PM, ESPN SATURDAY N.C. State at Virgina Tech, Noon/9:00 AM, ESPN Kentucky at #16 Florida, Noon/9:00 AM, ESPN2 Boston College at Wake Forest, Noon/9:00 AM, ESPN2 (regional?) Washington at Notre Dame, 3:30/12:30 PM, NBC Iowa at #18 Michigan, 3:30/12:30 PM, ABC* Clemson at #8 Florida State, 3:30/12:30 PM, ABC* Washington State at Arizona, 3:30/12:30 PM, ABC* Alabama at Arkansas, 3:30/12:30 PM, CBS Texas Tech at Kansas, 3:30/12:30 PM, FSN Penn State at #20 Wisconsin, 5:45/2:45 PM, ESPN #1 USC at Stanford, 7:00/4:00 PM, TBS Rice at #5 Texas, 7:00/4:00 PM, FSN Northwestern at #19 Minnesota, 9:00/6:00 PM, ESPN2 Oregon State at #22 Arizona State, 10:15/7:15 PM, FSN (local only?)

My picks...I'll get around to posting the pm'd picks tommorrow. It doesn't look like I'll have a replacement for Boise State. *sigh* A's drop another one to the Rangers. Now with the way the Angels are playing no guarentee they'll gain any ground (currently tied 1-1 in the 4th vs. the Mariners) but problem is the Rangers are now just one more win over the A's tommorrow from being right back in the race again.
-
I'm sorry but once again this A.L. East "race" is completey irrelevent and all this hand ringing over the results is pointless. They are both going to the playoffs and homefield doesn't mean much at all in the playoffs. A.L. West, N.L. Wild Card, and now the N.L. West races are ten times more important and have much more on the line than the A.L. East race.

Mark Mulder was shelled yet again tonight. He has completely fallen off a cliff the last seven weeks and there is zero doubt in my mind that he's hurt. He is doing nothing but hurting himself and the A's chances. The A's need to step in and shelve him the rest of the year. He has NOTHING right now. Actually I would like to hear if Al has a theory on Mulder.

Yes, but where would the fun be in that? Just like the real BCS I want CONTROVERSY~! I did run the 50%/25%/25% formula and there wouldn't be a huge difference in the rankings. Still have 10 weeks left in the season for things to work themselves out.
-
Jerry Rice failed to make a reception today snapping his streak of 274 games with at least one reception. I don't know why he came back this year and I hate to see him limp out on his career like this.
-
iggymcfly will take over Bowling Green. Doesn't appear bps visits the board much anymore. Now just have to find a replacement for 0-3 Boise State. Might have to create a thread to beg for someone to take them.
-
Angles last three losses: 1-0, 2-0, 1-0. Yikes. A's push lead back to three games.

Two teams forfeited last week so now I once again have to look for replacements. If I can't find a replacement for them and they both forfeit this week I'll declare those teams dead. There's a reason why the real BCS doesn't reveal their rankings until about midway through the season and that's because the early results are just too bizarre. I don't think the rankings will take a real shape until about Week 6 or 7. JHawk has been picking well and has had some bad luck so he's better than his 1-2 record. Hey I'm undefeated and unranked in my own contest! My opponents have been picking like shit, barely over 50% of games correctly picked. If posters outside the Top 10 want to know their ranking you can request them and I'll PM you. I'd like to keep the rankings outside the Top 10 a bit of a mystery.

Oh there is some bullshit this week. We have our first CONTROVERSY~! I've added in parenthesis each team's ranking in win/loss record, total points pct., and points against pct.(aka strength of schedule) to help illustrate why the rankings turned out this way. BCS Top 10 thru Week 3 1. Virginia - Edwin MacPhisto 4.33 (6/4/3) 2. Ohio State - Gert T 6.00 (1/1/16) 3. Hawaii - Will Scarlet 8.33 (6/3/16) 4. Notre Dame - Lando Griffin 8.67 (1/4/21) 5. Alabama - AlwaysPissedOff 8.67 (6/4/16) 6. Miami - Spaceman Spiff 9.67 (6/15/8) 7. Auburn - Agent of Oblivion 10.00 (6/8/16) 8. Syracuse - Canadian Chris 10.00 (6/12/12) 9. Oklahoma - Damaramu 10.33 (1/2/28) 10. Kent State - JHawk 10.67 (16/8/8) *runs and hides*

Arizona State should be ranked after tonight but they probably won't be since most of the country, including myself, can't see the game. ASU 37, #16 Iowa 0 in the 4th. Score of the Day: Maine 9, Mississippi State 7 The honeymoon for Sylvester Croom is over. Maine hadn't played a I-A team in 13 years. After their wins over Marshall and Missouri, Troy dropped their Sun Belt opener 22-15 at New Mexico State. Clemson is really proving what many thought coming into the season and that they were vastly overrated. I don't even think they'll make it to a bowl game. Alabama's QB Brodie Croyle tore his ACL and he's done for the season. Injury happened when they already 31-0 on I-AA Western Carolina.
-
Arizona State is crushing Iowa 24-0 right now. I had a feeling ASU would be a surprise team this year after being such a dissapointment last year. Pac-10 looks much deeper this year.

Games decided by the Florida/Tennessee result. #4t Syracuse (Canadian Chris) def. UCLA (phoenixrising) Maryland (MarvinisaLunatic) def. West Virginia (Loaded Glove) Tennessee (Kotzenjunge) def. Florida (Agent Bond34)

What the hell is with kickers missing extra points this year?

Interesting in progress scores: Mississippi State 7, Maine 3 4th Arkansas State 21, #25 Memphis 16 Half North Carolina 28, Georgia Tech 13 late 4th New Mexico State 3, Troy 0 2nd UCLA's Maruice Drew has 220 yards rushing on 10 carries in the first half against Washington. Florida Atlantic beat another D-IA team in Middle Tennessee, 27-20. Update: North Carolina beats Georgia Tech 34-13. Talk about a let down to get crushed by a UNC team that nearly lost to William & Mary. Nevermind about the UL-Monroe/Arkansas score. Sportsline had it backwards.

After an incredible 4th and 12 conversion, Auburn scores on 3rd and 12 to tie the game 9-9 but the extra point is missed! Personal foul LSU! Retry...10-9 Auburn. Unreal. LSU of course missed an extra point in the 1st quarter.

I don't think I've ever seen one Adam Sandler movie, certainly no more than a few minutes of any of them when flipping through the channels. He's done a ton of box office and I enjoyed him on SNL but I just have never had a desire to watch his movies. Any popular network show that has debuted in the last two or three years as I almost never watch network t.v anymore outside of sporting events.
-
I'm going guess Don Sutton.

After being down 21-0, Texas Tech has scored 42 unanswered points to go up 42-21 on TCU. Game is only midway through the 3rd quarter. Maryland blocks the potential game winning field goal. Looks like overtime.

Bowling Green ("Hail" bps21) and Boise State (Rob E Dangerously) both forfeit.
