Troy actually had the biggest upset of last week, in a week where there pretty much were no upsets, by beating Marshall. If anything this means there will finally be a decent race in the Sun Belt Conference this year as North Texas has won it every year. Not that anyone cares.

Spicy McHaggis picked 258 yards. Next closest was AlwaysPissedOff with 253 (haven't posted his picks yet since still no picks from his opponent) and myself with 261. Holding off on posting the results thread until I hopefully hear from the last two teams.

Guess everyone is watching the NFL game but Troy State is on the verge of the first big upset of the season as they just went up 24-14 on Missouri in the 4th.
-
Deadline #1 is in about five minutes, have not received picks from these teams: Washington State (bravesfan) Boise State (Rob E Dangerously) Georgia (Kingofthe909) Bowling Green ("Hail" bps21)

What's amazing is the Royals have those 24 runs on just five extra base hits, including only one homerun. They have 17 singles and drawn eight walks.
-
You picked Texas A&M as well.

Ugh, this is just a massacre. The Red Sox just simply own the A's since Game 3 of last year. No way to get around it. If the A's hang on in the West I now actively hope the Red Sox win the East so the A's don't get them in the ALDS. Still in first place ya know.
-
I really hope Hudson getting beat up his last start and his bad first inning here isn't a sign that his oblique injury is bugging him again. Mulder has been pitching like shit the last month (still no one seems to a explanation as to what is wrong with him) so the last thing they need is Hudson to start struggling.
-
*sigh* I'm starting to think the A's are incapable of getting any sort of revenge against teams that bounce them in the playoffs. I guess that goes well with the incapable of winning Game 5 thing.

Boston got nothin' on Oakland and Philly for liquored up fans. Unfortunently the bigger the game, the bigger the crowd, so the bigger number of idiots in the stands.
-
Playoff frustration boiled over and that they let them tailgate for about three hours before the game.
-
WOW, that was a terrible call. Clear trap by Manny Ramirez. Uh oh Kotsay is going to pull a Kevin Brown.
-
Ken Macha really seems to want the A's to lose this game by leaving The Avatar in well over 100 pitches. Edit: Hey good job Macha getting him out after giving the Red Sox the lead! Fucking moron.
-
I absolutely hate being the one to correct people on that play but Posada's glove grazed the back of That Fat Fuck's calf just before he touched home. Insanely close play that in real time I think nine times out of ten the umpire probably would call the runner safe but, unfortunently for the A's, the ump made the right call.

Flipped over to the ESPN 25th Anniversary show to see if I'd get lucky and catch a cool, nostalgic highlight package. Instead I flip over as they play a rap song about Chris Berman and Berman giving a shout out to the rapper who did it after the segment ends.

Now for the first regular season Bored Championship Series Top 10 rankings. Preasason rankings have no effect on these rankings. The formula is simple: Average ranking (from 1 to 32) of a team's win/loss record, percentage of correct picks made, and percentage of correct picks made by their opponent. Since it's week 1 these rankings can be taken with a grain of salt and probably won't take any real shape for a few weeks. For example when it comes to win/loss record you are either ranked #1 or #17 at this point. If you did really well this week but your opponent did poorly your ranking won't be as good as you might think. Also if you lost this week but did well you might be pleasantly surprised. So just like the real BCS we'll have CONTROVERSY~! Note to break any ties in the rankings I go in order of win/loss record, perecentage of correct picks made, and then percentage of correct picks against. Two teams in the Top 10 had the exact same result in their matcH-ups this week thus they are tied. Now *drum roll*...The BCS Top 10 thru Week 1 1. Virginia (Edwin MacPhisto) 2.67 2. Ohio State (Gert T) 3.33 3. Washington State (bravesfan) 5.00 4. Syracuse (Canadian Chris) 6.00 5. Miami (Spaceman Spiff) 7.67 6. Penn State (therealsworldchampion) 8.00 7. Florida (Agent Bond34) 8.00 8. Kent State (JHawk) 8.67 9t. West Virginia (Loaded Glove) 9.00 9t. Alabama (AlwaysPissedOff) 9.00
