None of that buyout stuff is true. Vince Russo signed a 2-year contract worth $1.5 million with WCW in October 1999. He wasn't re-hired by WWE until June 2002, over half a year after his AOL Time Warner deal expired. And a lot of Russo's reported ideas ended up being used, the main one being to bring Eric Bischoff to WWE and use him as an authority figure. The only one that really made people shake their heads was that he wanted Raw to be turned into Nitro (to go along with Bischoff's entry into the company) and Raw to replace Smackdown.

It'll be nothing like what you see on TV. No cameras, no fancy lighting, no pyro, no ramp, and no big screens. Just a ring, simple lighting, and a black curtain. Unless you're in the front five rows, there's no point in wasting time on making a sign. Like an above poster said, I laugh at people who bring signs to house shows who aren't in clear view of the wrestlers.

(I know it's early, but WWE is pimping this all over the website, so I thought it was a big enough deal to go on and start speculating. Still feel free to lock it you feel it's too early.) ----- Mr. McMahon Strikes Back! This Monday night, live on Raw, Mr. McMahon strikes back. Find out what this means by tuning in to Raw at 9/8 CT on USA Network. When Raw went off the air last week, an infuriated WWE Champion John Cena was wiping apple and spit off his face and staring lasers into Carlito, who thanks to Randy Orton, got a pinfall victory over The Champ. The Caribbean Superstar, who had argued that he deserved to be the No. 1 contender to the WWE Championship, now seems to have further ammunition to his claim. But, will he have to feel the wrath of Cena, who could look for revenge for his humiliating defeat? Will Cena have something in mind for Orton, who has taken pleasure in sending messages to the champion in the weeks before their SummerSlam showdown? Last week, Orton added another legend to his casualty list when he took Sgt. Slaughter to boot camp and hospitalized him with a punt to his cranium. What is Sarge's medical update? And will yet another legend challenge Orton? Another Superstar who made a powerful statement was Mr. Kennedy, who also wants to be recognized as the No. 1 contender to the WWE Championship. Kennedy did the nearly-impossible – put Bobby Lashley on the sidelines with a shoulder injury. How much will the loudmouth from Green Bay, Wis., boast about his latest conquest? And what is Lashley's condition? You can find out the answers to these questions and more by tuning in to Raw on Monday night at 9/8 CT on USA Network.

The Next Gen Hart Foundation debut on OVW TV [JULY 28, 2007]
Enigma replied to Oldschool's topic in The WWE Folder
Like someone else said, I'm having a hard time getting excited for this because it's only a matter of time before Teddy Hart fucks up again. -
Some injuries are worse than others. Flair once tore his r.c. and was out for about a year. Flair tore his rotator cuff and had surgery on it in September 1996. They did an angle where he was destroyed backstage by the nWo for the storyline reasoning and he vacated the U.S. Title. He officially returned in May 1997, so that put recovery time at approximately 8 months. But the thing to remember here is that Flair was 47 (and turned 48 mid-way through) when this was going on. Lashley just turned 31, so he'll likely recover a lot faster.

Favorite Crowd Reactions to Face/Heel Turns?
Enigma replied to zappafrank's topic in General Wrestling
I was about to mention the same thing. Nearly 70,000 people in the Astrodome with a "WTF" silence as Austin shook hands with McMahon. -
The thing that was awesome about Sting is that this character was so deep that he beat the shit out of WCW guys like Jeff Jarrett and Rick Steiner, but never did that make anyone think he was nWo. This Sting/nWo stuff was done so well, it was ridiculous. It's just a shame Hogan had to fuck everything up.

Maybe Jeff got busted playing video games backstage.

Should this be in General Wrestling?

RAW RATING LOWEST NON-HOLIDAY RATING IN ALMOST 10 YEARS The 2.5 rating for the July 31, 2007 edition of Raw is the lowest non-holiday rating for Raw since October 23, 1997, which scored a 2.3. That show was headlined by WWF Champion Bret Hart vs. Ken Shamrock, Intercontinental Champion Owen Hart vs. Ahmed Johnson, and WWF Tag Team Champions The Legion of Doom vs. Los Boriquas. The show also featured one of Jim Cornette's "shoot interviews" about how bad WCW was. The opposing WCW Nitro show scored a 4.3. Nitro was headlined by WCW Champion Hollywood Hogan vs. Diamond Dallas Page, Ric Flair vs. Randy Savage, United States Champion Curt Hennig vs. Booker T., Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Jericho, and Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio, Jr. vs. Dean Malenko.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Enigma replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
Shit, WWE will pay for non employees to go to rehab. William Regal said he would be dead if it weren't for Vince paying for his rehab and releasing him so he could go to WCW and make more money to get his life back together. And a few years ago, Vince and HHH split the bill so Sean Waltman could get cleaned up. -
Jeff Hardy may be done with WWE. Hardy wasn't at RAW last night and there's concern within WWE that he won't be back for SummerSlam and that he might not be back at all. His program with Umaga was scrapped and Umaga was turned babyface on RAW. More details are coming. -- PWI

I think a lot of you are forgetting Kurt Angle asked for his release and wasn't fired. Angle duped Vince into believing he needed time off from wrestling and got his release, and within an hour was on the phone with Jeff Jarrett. -

That would be awesome if HHH and UT were in Congress. You know, the two guys who are currently treating injuries which many sports people define as "steroid injuries" in terms of tendons being totally ripped off the bone. -

Well, there is a reason why Bobby Lashley has gone from feuding with John Cena to Carlito.
