  1. "From the writer of the other Avengers book you hate.." I'll pass.
  2. Wait a second... Leena is Teagan Presley? I thought Leena was Carnival.
  3. You beat me to it.
  4. As opposed to releasing it in the summer so it can get lost in a crowded field of other summer big budget comedy and action films?
  5. Its a documentary.
  6. Casting really depends on what direction you want to go with the character, and I'm not sure I've got a handle on that. The worst thing they could do is base the casting on what the character was like in his 2 previous live-action incarnations. And, dare I say it, he needs to be darker than the cartoon, so Hamill's out. Same goes for any other villian they might use in future movies. I really don't have a preference, so long as the person knows they're not being hired to do a Caesar Romero/Jack Nicholson impression.
  7. How is what's going on now NOT America? If anything, I feel like we're constantly reliving the past.
  8. The Flash needs his own animated show.
  9. Heather Ledger's actually a pretty good actor.
  10. Bitter political differences are as American as apple pie.
  11. CNBC reports Aquaman's fake $116 million box office draw as being real
  12. All questions about He-Man and She-Ra should be directed to www.forums.yourenot8yearsoldanymore.com.
  13. Eisenhower would've ripped out bin Laden's eyes and skull fucked him.
  14. And then, of course, if he'd actually gone and got them instead of dicking around in Iraq for 3 years.

    HDTV

It seems like all the experts have also said this, but people are still shelling out $3000 for plasma and LCD sets...when they could get a rear-projection HD CRT for 1/3 of the price. I don't get it.
  16. There are about 18 minutes of commericals per hour on network television. That's twice what it was 40 years ago. By comparison, PBS throws up MAYBE 90 seconds worth of corporate advertisements, and 3-4 minutes of advertisements for their own programming. There's also a stark difference in what the advertisements are for, and PBS advertisements lack the slick arm-twisting and pathetic attention-grabbing techniques network television advertising does.
  17. America is not a stupid country. We're just not very well informed all of the time. Once the public is made aware of and takes an interest in an important issue, the majority of the people will support the right thing. An important example of this would be the Civil Right movement. Once all of America saw on TV just what was happening to blacks living in the South, support for civil rights laws increased to the point that the federal government took action on a regular basis during the 1960s to protect people's rights.
  18. I really try to keep it to $10-$15. That doesn't always happen, though.
  19. The problem is the phrase "link between Iraq and Al Qaeda" is too vague and could mean anything. Most people probably take it to mean "support" or "aid," but that's not what the word means. So, apparently, we went to war over a semanic misunderstanding.
  20. That'll be someone's username by the end of the week.
  21. My daughter's only 4 months old. By that time she gets married, our Republican overlords will have repealed the 16th Amendment and implemented a national sales tax. Thankful, though, she'll also still be a virgin when she gets married because she'll have been indoctrinated with the 100% effective "abstinence only" sex education curriculum.
  22. I was looking at the comic rack today and realized half the stuff DC is currently publishing will probably be cancelled by this time next year.
  23. Agreed, those hard earned dollars spent on quality, educational TV for kids could be put to better use making things to blow up them thar towelheads n shit. Also: Nascar. As a parent, I want my child advertised to every 5 minutes by the makers of useless toys and sugary snacks. I mean, I know Sesame Street makes learning fun and all, but why should she have to learn anything at all? In the future right-wing utopia, she's just going to be a stay-at-home mom anyways!
