If you've made it this long without one, you should keep it that way. I long for the days I had an excuse for people not being able to get ahold of me. Most people buy them claiming we're doing it in case of an emergency, but they rarely actually get used for that.

Are you not aware they single-handedly popularized a sub-genre of rock music that dominated the music industry during most of the 1990s? Nirvana was the first exposure most of America had to what was then called alternative music. Nirvana, along with Dr. Dre in the genre of rap music, obliterated everything else out there and reshaped popular music in their image. It would be 1998 before traditional "Pop" acts would get another foothold in the music industry.

You don't seem to understand the difference between the words "important" and "popular".

Oh, how did I miss this gem before. That's because I'm smart enough to know when to say enough is enough. I'd say I paid my dues the first time she came after me, let alone the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th times. Just being on the same planet as that fucking psycho should be considered paying your dues. -
Were you even alive in 1991?

Yup and Bon Jovi's longevity is nearly unmatched in this era. They've remained relevant and gone platinum off NEW(not older material) records from 1984 to the present with no signs of stopping. Worldwide they have sold as many or more albums than any other artist on that list with only Metallica, Ozzy and AC/DC coming close. They were also the band that defined hair metal and remain the only band to escape hair metal with their popularity and relevance in tact. Even Def Leppard hasn't had a new CD of theirs do good since the 80's. Bon Jovi has survived hair metal, grunge, rap metal and every other fad to remain big. So yah they're not only worthy of inclusion on a list like that but also are, probably, the most underrated band of the past 20 years. If Jon Bon Jovi was ugly, no one would have ever heard of them. The only people they could be considered important to are horny middle school girls from the 80s who grew up to be horny women in their early 30s.

The only reason anyone should watch Elektra is if you need a Jennifer Garner fix. And if you DO need a Jennifer Garner fix, I'd recommend the first 2 seasons of "Alias" over Elektra.

Apparently cable companies in the midwest just don't give a fuck. Bad picture, shitty channel line-up, service went out, equipment problems...I had plenty of reasons to switch to DirecTV. On the other hand, though, DirecTV's HD package is absolute crap. -
The Directors Cut DVD Discussion Thread

Don't mind? That's a big positive! All I remember is while that horrible plot was going on, I turned to my girl and said, "you watch, Affleck and Garner are having sex." And sure enough, they were. I remember thinking the same thing, but I think he was still with Jennifer Lopez at the time. Remember, kids, no matter how hot a woman is, there's a man who's tired of fucking her. Sadly, that wasn't one of the things they improved. -
Unbelievable Warner Brothers Box Set Sales at Sam's Club

Sam's Club doesn't have sales. Those are the regular prices. Benefit of paying that $35 a year. -

From who? God's cable company? Cable goes out for days at a time. Satelitte's back the second the storm's over. Most of the time people are having satelitte trouble, its because their dish isn't aligned correctly. It was storming all week here, and I didn't loose my signal once. -
I'm calling bullshit. Being able to spell requires little actual intelligence, if any at all. Its a memory test, nothing more. Arrange the 26 symbols in the same way they were first presented to you. No reasoning, deduction, or strategy is involved. There are autistic kids who can't tie their own shoes who are excellent spellers.

At this point, the TV media is just looking for any excuse to say "Watching this report may save your life!" in their commericals. -

Is there a risk the music would become the distraction for your ADD? I had a kid in my 1st hour that couldn't take medicine because he had a heart condition. I'd totally bend the rules on headphones if I thought it'd help him shut up for more than 5 minutes. I hate to say this, but given the effects caffeine has on ADD, I've given kids diet soda before to help them out.

Hey..I *liked* Mystery of the Batwoman...a little bit. -
Sounds like my situation. My tuition is almost $2000, and its only for 6 hours. My biggest beef is that the unpaid job I'll be doing is basically the job I've already been doing for the last 3 years. In years past, they made allowances for this situation and had them do their assignments and observed people at work. I'm still waiting for one of these wonderful summer vacations I keep hearing that teachers get. No offense, dude, but apples and oranges.

Deja vu. Now let's compare this genocidal rant to MikeSC's ability to argue for 10 pages against any "liberal" point no matter how much empirical evidence there is to the contrary. I've already paid my dues trying to argue with Marney. She knows what I think of her. And, in addition, let me ask the following... Is anyone here familiar with Andrew Sullivan? Sullivan is a columnist and frequent guest on Bill Maher's HBO show. Sullivan frequently hands out satirical "awards" for statements made he thinks are bullshit, and names the awards after people who are famous for making bullshit statements. For example, he has one called the "Michelle Malkin Award" for which nominated statements must "be entirely devised to insult; it should be completely devoid of originality; it must have at least two hoary, dead-as-a-Norwegian-parrot cliches; and it must assume that readers already agree with the writer. Arbitrary mean-spiritedness wins extra points." That's what the Pit is all about.
