I'm resurrecting this thread because the new season is 4 episodes old and the shows still kicks ass. I know I can't be the only person watching (and loving) this show. We all have those idiot friends that we argue wth because we think they're always wrong (not unlike on the internet). I had an argument yesterday about this show with him. I think the reason we were probably arguing is because he has only seen the first part of the mini-series and none of the subsequent episodes, and hasn't watched an episode of the 1978 series since he was a kid. However, this didn't stop him from arguing that the original was a great show and this one strayed too far from the original. After 20 minutes of defending this show, I finally put it out there for him in clear terms: The old show was for kids, this one is for adults.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed how lame the line was. It seemed like everyone wanted to give Shelton a free pass on that one because they feel sorry for him.

I'd safe its a pretty safe bet they're saving HHH vs Cena for WM22 (for better or worse). Shawn/Cena would definitely give Cena a partner that could get him to the next level.

True, but it isn't completely justifiable to claim that just because all the recent terrorism directed at mass transit was committed by one group, that will continue to be the case into the future. Also, racial profiling leaves a huge opening for middle eastern terrorists who can pass for white or some other group. I think that's the best reason not to do it.

I don't see why being over or having a good gimmick are conditions for putting on a good match. Not being given enough time certainly is a facotr, but I don't get why you think the other two are necessary.

I don't know about that. Whenever I tried to sell people on watching "Firefly" I usually got a bizarre puzzled look and either "I don't like westerns" or "how come there's no aliens"? My favorite is when people actually try to argue the show isn't realistic because its set in the future, but they still use guns and the ships travel at sub-light speeds (as if phasers and warp drive could really exist). Apparently I need smarter friends.

If you didn't like this movie, at least acknowledge that's the reason you didn't like it was because you didn't find it funny, rather than making up some bullshit reason.

Although the mom erred for saying racism involves power (its a common misconception amongst social scientists that racism must involve power to exist), her explanation of why the children were attacking makes perfect sense. MrRant also left out this important piece of the story: which validates the writer's point. Good job.

My biggest problem with racial profiling is that it makes no sense. Racial profiling assumes all terrorists look like middle easterners. This is wrong because the US has a long history of white terrorists, whether they be the KKK, anti-abortion extremists, environmental extremists, or anti-government types. This is also wrong because it assumes that even if someone is of middle eatern ancestry, they cannot alter their appearance using make-up, wigs, color contacts, etc., to appear to be something else. If people like Michelle Malkin and John Leo would think more strategically, instead jumping into their "the most obvious course of action has to be the right one" mentality, they'd see this. But being rational doesn't sell books or get people to read your "column" these days. So, please, if you're a right wing hack, think your ideas through before you put them out there for the world to see. Your stupidity is making the rest of us look bad. People in other countries have access to your rants, and some might even be using them as examples of how dumb and racist we are.

I thought the promo was pretty good, except for the hoping Edge gets killed in a car accident. That kind of ruined a lot of the goodwill he had built up with the audience.
