  1. I actually like Ernie in this event. He looks to be pretty close to peaking right now. With the tournament not at La Costa (which he hates), I think he's got a good chance to win. Or, I could play it safe and go with You Know Who, but what fun would that be?
  2. That was a crappy ending. I was cheering hard for either David and Mary or Mirna and Schmirna to exit, stage left.
  3. Anyone see the goal Malkin scored against Washington this afternoon? Somehow he just wired a shot from the goal line over Kolzig's shoulder and in. Amazing.
  4. No more classic billiards and classic strong man competitions for you. And poker. Don't forget poker.
  5. The Central division is exhibit A for why the NHL schedule sucks. Nashville and Detroit get to pad their point totals with the 24 games they have against the other three crappy teams.
  6. Clocks go back an hour in the fall, and it's a week later.
  7. This is getting very difficult... Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart, 3/23/97, WrestleMania 13, "I Quit" match Randy Savage vs. Ultimate Warrior, 3/24/91, WrestleMania VII, Retirement match Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon, 3/20/94, WrestleMania X, Ladder Match for IC Title Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels, 10/5/97, Badd Blood, Hell in a Cell
  8. Eh, I wouldn't go that far. Tiger's still Tiger, and he does still have four green jackets. The thought of a Phil/Tiger duel on the back nine on Sunday is intriguing, though.
  9. Mickelson's driving is just phenomenal right now. If he keeps this up, he's going to give Tiger a real run for his money at Augusta.
  10. Just got finished watching Randy Savage vs. Ric Flair from WrestleMania VIII on YouTube, including the prematch promo from Flair and both postmatch promos. Oddly enough, this was the first time I'd ever seen the full match. I'd only ever seen clipped versions of it before. It was an absolute epic. Savage's sell job of the leg was top-shelf, and his postmatch promo was incredible -- the most intense promo I've ever seen him give, which is saying a lot. My only complaint is that I would have loved to see these two go at it five years earlier -- every match they ever had was past Savage's prime, and every match in WCW was past Flair's prime as well.
  11. Anyone remember No Holds Barred: The Match/The Movie? Well, here's The Match: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1ItUmpm0A8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuO5FippmFo
  12. Trevor Hoffman, RP
  13. Looks good to me. My pick will be in sometime this evening. I have absolutely no idea who I'm taking yet.
  14. Quick question: What's the rule on prospects with no ML experience? Are they ineligible to be chosen in the draft?
  15. I like my chances so far...plus I have picks in the next four rounds: SP - Ervin Santana RP - Chris Ray C - Victor Martinez SS - Derek Jeter OF - Vernon Wells, Grady Sizemore
  16. I thought of that but I really think McGriff was a better first baseman than Olerud as a Blue Jay, despite Olerud having the tenure and rings (and being one of my favourite Jays ever). Johnny O really only had the one dominant season in Toronto. I went with success with the team only. Even then, I left Clemens off the list, because I hate the guy.
  17. Hard to say without seeing more of them. I have no real quarrel with any of them, though.
  18. Holy shit, I don't believe it...I nearly took this guy first overall because I didn't think he'd get back to me here: Victor Martinez, C/1B So that's Jeter, Martinez, Sizemore and Wells with my first four picks. See y'all in round 5.
  19. I didn't realize it at the time, but Hogan nearly killed Earl Hebner tossing him out of the ring. Hogan threw him right over DiBiase and Virgil, who were supposed to catch him/break his fall.
  20. 1) Yes, but Yahoo doesn't open their leagues until Friday, so it hasn't been created yet. 2) C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, Util, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, Bench x4 3) Offence: runs, HR, RBI, SB, on-base %, slugging %; Pitching: W, SV, K, WHIP, ERA, holds
  21. That would be the always-excellent Tuesday Morning Quarterback: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...terbrook/070213
  22. Hogan drops the title to Andre on The Main Event (clipped): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxSzv0C1_18
  23. I didn't have any problem with the continuity as I was watching the show, but now that you mention it, they did really butcher it. Remember, it took seven episodes to get Marshall and Lily back together, so that puts it at the beginning of November, right when the NYC Marathon is. How could she have been helping Marshall train all that time when she wasn't even there for most of it?
  24. Now I Can Die In Peace is good if you like Bill Simmons. The only other one I've ever read is The Best Hand I've Ever Played, but that's because I'm a poker junkie.
  25. Best part of that article:
