I doubt there'd be many Sabres fans in the stands for that game. Why would they put themselves through having to watch the team that beat them raise their banner, for just another regular-season game?

I had Extra Innings in 2004. It was terrific. Then I switched TV providers and my new company doesn't carry Extra Innings. I was sad.

The way they had it originally was fine, too. Each league gets home field every other year. It certainly didn't make any less sense than having it based on the result of an exhibition game.

It's time to stop pretending the All-Star Game is anything more than it is -- a meaningless exhibition. All the other major sports leagues have realized that. When's the last time you saw the NBA or NHL All-Star Games taken very seriously? The MLB All-Star Game lost whatever luster it once had four years ago. I have no problem with Manny skipping the All-Star Game, even if he played in a 19-inning game the Sunday before the break. The interests of your team supersede everything else, ESPECIALLY when the game is in the middle of the season. If you want to make him travel to the game to put in an appearance, fine. Take away incentive clauses for not playing, no problem. But to force a player to play an exhibition game in the middle of the season is just wrong.

Northeast is home to Northwest. That's cool -- all the Canadian teams will come around here at least once. Can't say that I'm too upset that the Sens don't have to play the Pacific.

I agree with this in principle. I'm for there being no nukes what so ever. However, untill an agreement is made to get rid of all of them, North Korea has the right to have them. No, they don't. Short version: Rougeaus mistakenly thought Dynamite cut up their clothes as a practical joke (it was actually Curt Hennig, IIRC) and blindsided him in the locker room. If you read Pure Dynamite, you'll get a pretty good idea of who he has heat with.

I like it as well, but it's been hit and miss lately. Lupica is awful as host when Saunders is away -- he's a really bad moderator. And the day they had Stephen A. Smith and Dan LeBatard made me want to scratch someone's eyes out. The best combo is probably Saunders, Lupica, Ryan and Albom, but I haven't seen that one as much lately.

Ty had a good set tonight -- drunk Superman's always a good source of material. I thought the WWF was better, for the most part. I started tuning out WCW in the middle of the year. Jericho jumping really gave the WWF a boost. Once Russo came in, though, WCW started to get very perversely entertaining.
