Bruckheimer To Do Prince Of Persia Movie
spiny norman replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
I really liked the old video game of 1989 at the time, but since have looked back on it and only found it enjoyable through its sheer corny nostalgic value. That said, I find the idea of a movie of it to be rather terrible. From memory, the story of Prince Of Persia was that a princess was captured, had a poison which would kill her in an hour or something and you went level to level, all the while fighting guards trying to stop you from rescuing her. Please somebody, correct me if I missed anything else in the plot of the game (I haven't played it in years) but I don't remember much more than that. Plus Jerry Bruckheimer usually doesn't equate to good films, a few films withstanding (ie. Flashdance). What will come next? Pac-Man: The Movie? -
I heard this news about 24 hours ago, I am surprised it took so long to surface here. At any rate, this is an exceptional cast. I just hope the film lives up to its expectations, which will be incredibly hard for it to do.

I am worth exactly: $2,821,498.00 That makes me the third most expensive for the day, and also the most expensive in this here thread (barring Paragon Of Virtue's obviously fictitious result). Now pay me. You are all worthless and weak!

The OAO Oscar Predictions Thread
spiny norman replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Television & Film
I'll just begin with what I'd like to see win. I'll post what I think will win later. Best Picture Lost in Translation: I adored this film, it is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Best Director Sofia Coppola, Lost in Translation: Well, it's kind of obvious judging from above who I think should get this and why. Though I understand giving it to Jackson. Best Actor Bill Murray, Lost in Translation: Far and away the best of them. Penn did nothing for me (in fact, at times I felt he overacted a tad and brought the film down). Murray never felt to me like he was acting, and I mean that in the best possible way. Best Actress Keisha Castle-Hughes, Whale Rider: It would be awesome if she wins. Of course it will never happen, but it would be great. Best Supporting Actor Tim Robbins, Mystic River: I'll give it to him, though I actually thought Bacon was the best in the film. Best Supporting Actress Renee Zellewegger, Cold Mountain: I don't really care for anyone in this category. Where is Scarlett Johansson? Best Original Screenplay Sofia Coppola, Lost in Translation: See all the other Lost In Translation love from above. Best Adapted Screenplay Braulio Mantovani, City of God: Why this is nominated for four awards yet not Best Foreign Film utterly confounds me. Best Animated Feature Finding Nemo: Well, duh. Best Foreign-Language Film The Barbarian Invasions (Canada): But really, City Of God wins this category. -

Gotta love mentioning the Simpsons. Except for the naked part, ugh. I think all those who quote The Simpsons or rally behind those who do so should be banned for being gits who like a show which is just overquoted to the point of making me want to tell those who do so that they are gits.

You people are sick. Truly sick. I think Michael Jackson's Come Together will always hold a special place in my heart as the worst cover I've ever heard. As for worst song, that is much harder and needs a great deal of thought behind it.

I managed to catch Prince much earlier in his tour back in October. It is well worth it and was an amazing concert experience.

Undoubtedly Lita should not have been left in there for such a huge amount of time. I don't see why they couldn't have just had Molly or Jazz be in there for the following ten minutes so that the match could actually have been good? Because Victoria can be quite good, but she was lost with Lita who has just been abismal ever since her reappearance.

Ghettoman linked to it in his extra-long post on the second page.

It's bloody obvious that he was being satirical in his use of it. And yes, how often do we hear Chris Rock or any random negro comedian say "nigger"? I personally think that no, he shouldn't have been suspended for it (and people should really lay off him, there is zero racism in his statement), but yes, he should move on.

While I think Terminator 2 was absolutely awesome, Edward Furlong's character just really annoyed me. Why couldn't the little turd just die already? Aliens The Godfather Part Two Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade The Good, The Bad And The Ugly (only one of these I'd consider better than those before it, but it may not even be considered a sequel) Psycho II, Psycho III and Psycho IV (what a series, each one topping its predecessor)

I picked OJ Hart, though everyone's constant referencing of it nowadays every time someone mentions their sexual relationship is pretty annoying. But that original thread is undoubtedly great. I'd actually probably pick Metal Ed, but alas, it was not to be.

I've been knocked off the list. Damn, I used to have importance as a crap poster. Now I'm just a boring, average, run-of-the-mill types. How incredibly devestating.

I'd pick Kerry, but I think I accidentally voted Bush instead. Note to self: do not make such stupid mistakes in a real erection.

I voted for 2002. The change of boards was good because at last we didn't have that disgusting mustard colour, then we had the change of owners of the board which was good because we had people who cared running the board and there was a whole lot of change, mostly for the better. Next is 2001. Because it had Mr. X, plus Keith's Banfest was kind of suspenseful, everyone was just dropping like flies. 2003 was the next best, though the end of it was pretty lackluster. And 2000, though it marked my arrival on this board, was just there.

I don't know that remix, but I'm just making a general point here. I've never understood why you would remix a dance song. It just seems like an unproductive thing to do. I can already dance to it, so why remix it into a dance song? I've just never understood that.

Gone With The Wind is the most watched movie of all time. Titanic is the highest earning, but that's due to inflation. As for this movie, I'm going to wait and hear reviews. I am agnostic, so I'm going to be pretty open-minded to it and the story of Christ. However, if reviews are saying that it is overly preachy then I may stay away. But undoubtedly, I am interested.

I have not even noticed Drury until this thread. BBCW has moments of okayness. Drury may be fine if it weren't for the fact that he appears to say "Thanks" at the end of every post which is sure to get annoying fast. And being here the longest is nothing to gloat about. And you'd better listen to what I say, I've been here for over three years. Feel my wit~!

I thought the French knew how to spell bouret?

Perhaps this is the wake then? Or, as I called it when I was a little kid, the after-party.

I thought Cheronewasmurdered and Plushy Al were banned for him having a plethora of screen names and they just wanted to thin them out a tad? It makes sense to me, anyway.

Because I want to be in last place for something, here goes: AC/DC: 2 Aerosmith: 1 Alice Cooper: 1 Black Sabbath: 1 Deep Purple: 2 Guns N' Roses: 1 Jimi Hendrix Experience: 3 Kiss: 1 (but I don't like it) Led Zeppelin: 4 Queen: 6 Scorpions: 1 Twisted Sister: 1 Do I win?
