Coheed's one of my favorite bands out there right now. From the new album, I have only heard the single, but I love it. I'll definitely pick the CD up when it is released on the 20th, and see the band live (again) whenever they come to Anaheim or L.A.

I don't know the names of the guys fofhand, but after checking a review in my Xbox Magazine which i just read while shitting, it is indeed the guys from Hockey Night in Canada.

That's the thing... it's not ESPN anymore. They've got the Canadian Hockey Night crew (or something with a similar name) calling the action since 2K lost the ESPN license.

I've never been much of a hockey fan, although I loved older games such as NHL '94, NHL '97, NHL Breakaway '98, Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey '98, etc. However, the labor dispute has actually caused me to pay attention to the sport, and I plan to watch this upcoming season. So really, others will have more to add here, but I felt that we needed a topic to discuss EA Sports' NHL '06 and 2K Sports' NHL 2K6 (and that Wayne Gretzky NHL game for PS2, I guess...), both of which were released on September 6th for PS2 and Xbox. An Xbox 360 release of 2K6 is scheduled for November. I've heard that 2K6 is not as good as in previous years, and that NHL is improved. I'm considering picking up 2K6 for league play, as it is only $20 and I like 2K Sports (NHL '06 is $30) but I want some opinions first.

Thanks for the recommendations. As for the PS2 games, i really wanted to be reminded of gaems I had forgotten, since I had a general idea of a few things to pick up anyway. For the DS, Kirby and Meteos were the two main games I was looking at. Are they worth the $30-35, though? I've heard they're a lot of fun, but does Kirby have replay value? I loved all the older Kirby games, but they could be finished in a few hours. As for Meteos, is it worth buying mainly to play single player? Shit... After $150 for the PS2 and $25 for a memory card, that's close to $200 after tax. I'm not going to be able to afford many games... Oh well, I can wait for the late October Toys R Us Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale.

Shit, they did the same thing with Mega Man. Speaking of fighters, I'm temptedf to pick up MK:D again since the Kollector's Edition is down to $20-30 now. Ditto SNK vs. Capcom Chaos, which I bought last year in the TR B2G1 sale because they were out of other games I wanted and I enjoyed the demo. The final game turned out to be shit, and I sold it. I also recently got rid od Street Fighter Anniversary Collection. That was cheap as hell on one player. Third Strike was good, though. It seems I hate all these fighting games on single player, and I'm not good enough to compete in online multiplayer against hardcore players. My friends, sure, but not online. Sad, because all those games are really fun against a similarly skilled opponent.

Never played DA, but practically anything is better than the Xbox version of Deception. I had liked MK4, was excited about the graphics, modes, and online play of MKD, and I wasted $60 on it. Luckily, I got $30 when I traded it in months later toward Resident Evil 4, so it wasn't too bad.

My Xbox magazines don't come with demo discs for sme reason, but I just played the Burnout Revenge demo on Madden for the first time. I hadn't bothered trying it at E3 since I normally hate racing games. WOW. This shit is fucking amazing. I need to pick up Burnout 3: Takedown for $20 when I go buy my PS2 (although i'll likely get the Xbox version).

You won't get much, but your best bet is definitely GameRush/Blockbuster. They usually have the best trade in prices, plus the best deals. The one they have now, you can trade in 2 games and pre-order an upcoming release for $29.99. The credit for the games you trade in is deducted from that $30 as well.
