Haha. Who didn't see that response coming.

The gimmick is stupid, but I laughed my ass off anyway.

I'm a hopeless romantic who often cries (not outright bawling, but shedding a few tears) at the end of movies (*cough* chick flicks *cough*) or TV shows with sweet, romantic endings or when a character loses a loved one.

I got the album 2 days after release, never having owned a Coheed album, but loving the ones I have heard. The band was also great at the 2004 Warepd Tour. I must say, I am blown away by Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV: From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness (I just had to type that out once. The album is incredible, and has bested The Mars Volta and The White Stripes as my favorite release of 2005.

Has anyone else been affected by the fires? I just moved a few weeks ago to the outskirts of Moreno Valley (10 minutes from where I used to live) and yesterday, I could see thick black smoke on the othr side of a nearby mountain, and ash was raining down in our backyard. By the time Melissa and I left for the bar around 6 PM, police were diverting and guiding traffic on the small, rural roads by our house. It apparently got worse, as I was unable to return to my house and ended up staying at a friend's place. My mom said last night that there was talk of an evacuation. Hopefully things near my home have gotten better, not worse, and I hope that the entire ordeal ends as swiftly as possible so that no more people will risk losing their homes or their lives.

Well, in that case, I've already explained myself and it's merely a fact that I've been a fan since before they got good this season, so whatever. Bob, I understand your philosophy, but the fact that I exist and love both teams proves your statement to be inaccurate. Good to know I can go away for 3 weeks, come back, and have people like Slayer hate me from the start. I missed this board.

Thanks... I just found out myself. I figured maybe it'd be $20 since NHL 2K6 was. Maybe I can re-rent the game for now and buy it at the end of the month.
-
You may not have been referring to me, but I have had their flag in my sig since before the season and have been a fan since childhood. I haven't had internet access til today, though. Also, Bob, no. The teams play in different leagues. Tons of people are fans of both teams. I grew up with my dad's side of the family being Cubs obsessed so I saw lots of games, but I prefer the White Sox. I like them both- what's wrong with that? It's not like I claim to like both the Yanks and Sawx.

I'm hoping to buy this game in TRU's buy 2 get 1 free sale this month. I liked the first one a lot, but like many of my other games, it got lost in the shuffle and I played maybe 7 hours into it. I restarted and am trying to finish the first by the end of the month so I can get XL2 and experience the wonders of online co-op.

If 2K6 is $20, I'll buy it soon. If not, I'll try out both games and probably pick up the one I like better in TRU's buy 2 get 1 free sale at the end of the month. I hadn't expected either game to be out til mid October, despite seeing commercials, but to my surprise (no net access to find out) I saw the games at Hollywood Video on Saturday. Although the game has changed significantly in some ways from the E3 demo, I really like 2K6. After a game or two, I got used to the new shooting and stealing features with the right thumbstick and I'm loving the game. I haven't played online yet since I don't have a connection, but I can say that I'll probably never finish my 58 game season on 2K5 now. Oh, and to the guy who mentioned it, NBA Live '98 for PSX was the best.

Hey, I'm still here. I've been without internet access for 19 days, moving without notice and then having to switch from SBC Yahoo to Verizon DSL, which still isn't running yet. I'm on my friend's AOL dial-up. I called Kotz to get him to post about where I was, but I wasn't able to speak to him. Anyway, here are my picks for this week. Sorry for all the trouble, but there was nothing I could do. THURSDAY N.C. State FRIDAY Syracuse SATURDAY Illinois Michigan Texas Air Force Oklahoma State TCU Georgia Texas Tech Louisville Purdue Utah Texas A&M UCLA Ohio State Tiebreak #1: How many total points will be scored in the N.C. State/Georgia Tech game? 72 Tiebreak: #2: How many rushing yards will Syracuse's Damien Rhodes have against Connecticut? 173

As an Illinois native and lifelong White Sox fan, I must say hooray for a 2-0 series lead, and please, oh God, please don't choke.

How did you determine the game of the week? I wasn't expecting to be in it. I can't believe I forgot to make picks last week. I could have sworn I did it. Oh well, "I" won. THURSDAY Utah at TCU FRIDAY Houston at UTEP SATURDAY Oregon State at Louisville West Virginia at Maryland Mississippi at Vanderbilt Wyoming at Air Force Michigan State at Notre Dame Oklahoma at UCLA Alabama at South Carolina Miami of Ohio at Kent State Akron at Middle Tennessee State Wisconsin at North Carolina Tulsa at North Texas Fresno State at Oregon Florida State at Boston College Tennessee at Florida Miami at Clemson Mississippi State at Tulane Tiebreak #1: How many total points will be scored in the Houston/UTEP game? 42 Tiebreak #2: How many rushing yards will Utah's Quinton Ganther have against TCU? 132

Although other places such as Gamerush do not, GameCrazy usually calls you regarding pre-orders.

I hear "Wax Ecstatic" on DirecTV's alternative station quite often. I love that song. I'm a big fan of 90's alternative rock in general. Also, my favorite Spice Girls were Emma and Mel B (I think it was mel B... The black one). And oh my sweet Jesus, Emma is hotter than ever now. Speaking of Everclear, Milky... you make me feel like a whore.

I'm not getting into a long-ass argument about this like I did in the older Ashlee threads, but she most certainly can sing live. The Orange Bowl and SNL were two isolated, yet unfortunately nationally publicized incidents. Ignorant Ashlee bashers and other people who just don't like her or even that type of music cite those as examples to prove how "horrible" she is. I've seen at least a dozen of her live performances, and she is more than competent. I'm not saying she has a great voice, but she sounds about as good as she does on the record.

Thanks. I've been waiting for these. Aside from Jordan/Benoit, these are all matches I want to see. I can see them doing the title change back to MNM here. That needs to happen, even though I like Heidenreich and Animal in small doses.

I've been growing impatient waiting for "This Thread Is Ghey"... Although it is quite refreshing to see that a discussion can be had about this stuff by a group mostly consisting of heterosexual males and everyone's so open.

On "Comments That Don't Warrant a Thread"

The Lion King was the best, and still holds up to this day. I once watched El Rey Leon, the Spanish version, in my sophomore Spanish class while stoned. Thatw as quite the experience. -
Haha, yeah. I mention deals I found out about at CAG or the Xbox Live leagues I'm in quite often. I had planned on posting this deal sooner, but it just slipped my mind.

I've played 3 games so far, and I love it. Well worth the $20, and that's coming from someone who knows jack shit about hockey. The only negative was when I tried playing online, the lag was unbearable, and I know my connection was fine because Halo 2 and Madden ran smoothly. Now I'm 0-1 after the drop, though.

I've always assumed that CanadianChick is very pretty in that girl-next-door sort of way. And I think you scared Lushus away with that post, heh.
-
You really expected better from a guy who proudly posts pics of things like him posing with cigarettes, booze and rubbers? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Now there's a guy who gets it. I just never liked Radiohead. Czech sent me several of their songs, I didn't like a single one. As far as I'm concerned, they're horrible.

Pretty good. I got to wrestle on two OVW shows, (OVW house show kinda things, not the OVW TV show). Mike Mondo is a really cool trainer and nice guy. I also met a girl I fell in love with, she's 16, and we're getting married when she's 18. Her older sister is Eugene's (Nick Dinsmore's) ex-girlfriend, and they're still really close. I'll be returning to Kentucky in December. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Congratulations! Sounds like you had a good time. I was curious as to how the training went because I have trained in the past and hope to start again when I gain some muslce (at 125 pounds, even hitting the ropes hurts). We actually have a fair amount of people here who have trained... Apparently, Franchise has, along with Hollywood Spike Jenkins, Scroby, and, eh... someone else. JST is a referee in a Canadian fed.

Boredom.
