Time for the monthly who has been here for a long time discussion!

The La Parka-DDP angle is one of the best things WCW ever did.
-
It's Ferrell. TTK is overreacting here and making himself look kind of stupid, but VX sure is awful. Marney made me laugh at least.
-
So, those parents and their different gangs. How bout that.

Jericho-Edge have fought each other tons of times on RAW, especially in 2004.

Raven's a guy

Him getting the ring after a week. That's really sad. The desk scene was fantastic, great acting by both. Both scenes were kind of painful to watch, since you know Pam still doesn't like him as much as he likes her

DDP- How the hell did you lose Kimberly?
-
Jim can be really sad at times

We've had the two threads, plus the discussion in the DVD thread. It's probably the biggest wrestling story ever, I don't see what's wrong with letting people debate it to their hearts content. I'm not counting that recent thread, since yes, that guy was retarded. It was hilarious. You're describing most of the folder though. Let's not act like the WWE folder is a place for excellent discussion, and a thread about Benoit is tarnishing that. Isn't that the Current Events folder in a nutshell? I disagree. If people want to discuss the Benoit murders or their thoughts related to them, they should be allowed to. The mods should not be restricting discussion and telling people what they can and cannot discuss. I'm not going to deny that a lot of what was said in the Benoit thread was dumb, but people should be allowed to argue and discuss their opinions. But at least we can discuss the merits of a guy saying Jamaican me crazy Kofi! and the fact that ringside photographers are banned.

I actually went to a show in Memphis in 1993 where McMahon played a heel- it was quite surreal.

Pennsylvania prep basketball star Evans chooses Memphis 1 hour, 12 minutes ago Buzz Up PrintASTON, Pa. (AP)—One of the country’s last undecided high-profile basketball recruits will spend next season at Memphis. Tyreke Evans, the most valuable player of the McDonald’s All-American game last month, announced his decision Wednesday at a news conference surrounded by his family at American Christian School. “It was a tough decision, I wanted to stay close to home with my mom, my brothers and my family, but the school I chose was the University of Memphis,” Evans said. A three-time state player of the year, Evans averaged 29 points per game as a senior and capped it off with a 21-point, 10-rebound performance in the McDonald’s game, the top event for high school seniors. He seriously considered nearby Villanova as well as Texas before settling on the Tigers. “I just decided Memphis was a better offense for me,” Evans said. “I would like to play with coach (John Calipari) because of the offense he ran.” Evans will join the Tigers, who led Kansas down the stretch in the NCAA title game before falling in overtime, just as two of their top players may be leaving. Evans could step directly into the starting spot vacated by Derrick Rose, who announced Tuesday that he is leaving for the NBA after one season with the Tigers. Chris Douglas-Roberts, the team’s leading scorer and Conference USA player of the year, may also end up in the NBA next season. Evans, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard who excels at getting to the basket, could follow Rose as a one-and-done member of the Memphis backcourt. “Hopefully coach Cal can get me ready to get to the next level and be a successful player in the NBA,” Evans said. Evans played the last few games of his senior season with extra security after he began cooperating with police investigating a murder. Evans in February testified against his cousin, Jamar Evans. Tyreke Evans said he was the driver of an SUV from which his cousin fatally shot another man. Tyreke Evans testified that he heard a gunshot as the victim approached the vehicle and then drove off. He heard another, closer shot before seeing his cousin put a small handgun into his hooded sweat shirt. Tyreke Evans was not charged in the case, but police complained that he did not talk to them until three weeks later—a few days before Jamar Evans was charged.

A Coliseum Video was released of this show, but it is extremely rare. It used to sell for absurd amounts on ebay

Random Thoughts 3-27-08 to 5-28-08
bob_barron replied to Cheech Tremendous's topic in The WWE Folder
Even though doing the roast idea was approved by Vince McMahon who loved the idea. The people upset were people jealous that Rock is as big as he is and doesn't need wrestling anymore. Everyone knew going in that the HOF was basically about Flair and Rock -
For all his faults and obvious notes of decline, Ross is still much better then Styles in calling a big match. King, when he isn't playing to his gimmick can still show signs of the great commentator he was Styles has never been comfortable in WWE and that was the biggest concern when he came in. It's not to say he is worse then Cole because he isn't. Adamle has obviously done commentary before but not live wrestling commentary. If Styles asked to be moved out, they would have placed Grisham for the moment, putting Adamle in suggests they were looking to see what he could do. Styles would be more beneficial to the company by doing studio stuff for 24/7 and DVD releases. We should have this moved to a separate thread since this discussion isn't pertinent to the intended thread topic. Styles would've been just fine on RAW if not for Coach. Styles and King made a great two-man team on RAW. To say Cole hasn't improved since 1999 is wrong. He's much better than he was back then. He needs someone to play off of though. Cole and Tazz were a great team, and when JBL wasn't blabbing about THE LIGHTS ON BRIGHT they did just fine together. Cole and Coach are terrible.

I spotted Dave Meltzer in the crowd!
-
He's shooting a movie
-
Yes, I think those two people in the story are stupid. It does not mean we should start fining and/or jailing people who don't have a license to parent.
-
Yeah, that is part of what I was getting at. I just don't understand the tolerance some people have on this board. It doesn't compute with me. Oh, and I don't need to justify my existence to anyone. I think you need to justify the whole need a license thing.
-
I thought it was hilarious personally

There was no "deal" with the digital short. That was the joke.

Post here if you dislike Will Ferrell...
bob_barron replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Television & Film
Come on people, it's Ferrell. Click was just awful. -
I liked DejaVu just fine, but Matt Young's being silly. I was a little overwhelmed by the car chase, after hearing all the hype for it

Now we're stuck with Marney's post forever!
