They're charging $15 for tickets at some theatres, which will help. And it's only playing for a week, so demand will be huge Neither Over Her Dead Body or Strange Wilderness are opening on 2,000 screens. I don't see The Eye doing great business, and Meet the Spartans will have a huge dropoff.
-
Thanks, Choken. No wonder we didn't catch it. They also shouldn't have dumped Taker and HBK as Big Daddy V was coming in. That really threw a lot of people off

He means the Hannah Montana 3-D concert

Batista took a spike from Umaga and rolled out of the ring and apparently laid on the floor for a good amount of time. In other words, he Backlund'd it. Do you remember when this was? I'm just curious. As an aside, the Rumble is pretty hard to follow live. I missed Snitsky's elimination as well, and no one in the live crowd understood what happened with Finlay.
-
He got a pretty good pop, and I think a lot of people were unhappy when he got thrown out. Cody Rhodes got 0 reaction. It was quite sad.
-
What did happen to Batista anyway? We never saw what happened to him, at one point the guys next to me were freaking out that Big Dave wasn't in the ring, and I realised he wasn't, wondering how we missed his elimination. While it wasn't a great Rumble, seeing the Rumble live was incredible. There's really nothing like it. Cena's surprise was the craziest thing ever
-
I believe Juno had a budget of about $10 million
-
How did Cena overcome the odds? He was #30! This was an awesome show live, I had so much fun. Cena winning was the best thing ever. I couldn't see any of the entrances, so I wish I had been able to see Jeff's I'm jobbing face. That really killed the crowd and some of the show for me

You do realise that the estimates are usually 99.9% correct with what the final numbers are right? That's why they're released on Sunday afternoon.
-
You have amazing sources Enigma! And you're a great writer too!
-
No, it really doesn't. You shouldn't change people's subheads, that's not your job as mod. The worst was when you changed it in the Office Season 3 thread.

In that documentary they did on Wrestlemania, Rock told Austin that he loved him and thanked him for putting him over. The final few minutes of Rock v. Austin 3 are great stuff. I love that third Rock Bottom Rock does, where everyone knows that it's over.

Mickie copping a feel to block the Stratusfaction

I'm a Harry Potter nerd, and saw the movie 4 times in theatres. It was one of my favourite films of the year. My writing nods, and adapted screenplay took a while. While I think Atonement is a very good movie, I admit that it is not for everyone. What I take issue with though is your assertion that the ending is predictable. It most definately is not that. Predictable in the sense that I had a feeling
-
I have them ranked 1) Juno 2) There Will Be Blood 3) Michael Clayton 4) No Country 5) Atonement Atomenent isn't really worth seeing, Kamala. The first hour is really good stuff, but the second hour is pointless and it's just a slow ride until the predictable ending. I enjoyed James McAvoy and the girl who was nominated though.
-
That's really what the media said, but okay.
-
Looks like it was drugs. Really sucks, looks like he gave a great performance in Batman
-
I posted the full list already. KOAB, those were the 59 finalists. Walk Hard was not nominated
-
It does, though. JFJ was terrible and was constantly setting the Leafs backwards. This move should've been made a long time ago

Not really, mole. American Gangster was released November 2nd. Michael Clayton, nominated in numerous categories, was released in October. Last year's Best Picture winner, the Departed, was released in October. 3 of the 5 Best Actor nominees were in movies released before American Gangster

In Jones' defence, I heard he was fantastic in In the Valley of Elah. I didn't think he'd be nominated just because of vote splitting with No Country, and because no one saw the movie. Cate Blanchett getting nominated shows how weak the Best Actress category is. I didn't see Elizabeth, so I might be totally off-base, but everything I heard was that it was terrible.
-
Entertainment Weekly said she might get nominated, and I couldn't remember anything she did except yell at Denzel Washington. Jennifer Garner got screwed on that one. I also thought Javier Bardem was the lead actor in No Country, not supporting. Were Brolin and Jones considered the leads then?
-
The fact that I recognised her was distracting in a way. Even though she was perfect for the role, I would've gotten another actress. I also recognised Ben Feldman from The Perfect Man.
