The movies are not documentaries, nor do they claim to be 100% factually correct. Munich may not be 100% true, but that doesn't change the fact that it was one of the best made movies of the year and provides for a lot of discussion and debate. So you're "refusing" to see a movie because you've heard it's good and it edged out another film? Lame. I saw Brokeback and while I don't think it's a great movie, I thought it was very good and well done. Great performance by Heath Ledger. Which he deserved. Syriana was much more political. And again, Good Night was a good movie no matter how political you think it was. That's not what Crash was at all.

You said Bareback Mountain LOL! Seriously, that one has been beaten into the ground.

The first movie I ever saw in theatres was Prancer.

Robots was fun, but it didn't hold up when I got the DVD. The animation is excellent, but the movie has no plot, and Halle Berry was awful.

Instead of Capote, which I didn't think was that great, I would've given Match Point Director and Picture as well, along with Scarlett. I didn't see the Miyazaki movie, but Wallace and Gromit was a fun movie. I'm kinda pissed that Miramax just dumped all these movies last fall. Robert Redford and Gwyneth Paltrow both deserved some recognition for An Unfinished Life and Proof, respectively, but because their movies were just tossed out there, they got nothing.

I think it's better year then people think. Too many times we kept hearing about how the sky was falling and movies were doomed, but there were a lot of good little movies out there that may not have made 100 mil, but were good movies. Squid and the Whale comes to mind. I was hoping Jeff Daniels or Laura Linney would get a nomination, but I'm happy it got something. Just a terrific movie that I can't praise enough. I'm also happy that despite coming out in May, Crash was able to rack up some nominations. That movie was unforgettable, the scene with Ludacris and Terence Howard at the end, had the audience where I saw it applauding.

Will/Should Rey Mysterio Make It To WrestleMania 22?
bob_barron replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
Rey v. Angle is pretty easy to build-up. Mention that Rey's first PPV match was against Angle who made him tap, and bring up that in most of their matches Angle always wins. -
I lost interest in A History of Violence When that happened I thought: Wait...there's still more to go? William Hurt was funny, but I think there were more deserving candidates.
-
I meant Supporting Actor. I really hope Matt Dillion wins, even though I think Paul Giamatti will win just for getting passed over.
-
Can you make quoting posts easier?

But William Hurt doesn't deserve it! He's in the movie for like 8 seconds. And Ed Harris gave a much better performance. They should've given Crowe, Bana or Daniels a Best Actor nod and gave Howard a nod for Crash

Scarlett Johansson not getting a nomination is just bullshit Good to see Munich pick up some nods. I'd complain about Eric Bana and Jeff Daniels getting snubbed, but Best Actor is so deep anyway. Gwyneth Paltrow really deserved recognition for Proof as well.

Directors Guild and Writers Guild Nominations

Hate Clooney all you want, but he deserves two of the nominations he got. Scarlett Johansson not getting a nomination is just bullshit though. Good to see Munich pick up some nods. I'd complain about Eric Bana and Jeff Daniels getting snubbed, but Best Actor is so deep anyway. Gwyneth Paltrow really deserved recognition for Proof as well. -

Directors Guild and Writers Guild Nominations

No, Ang Lee actually did a great job with Brokeback. That's not saying Brokeback was better then Match Point, because it wasn't, but saying fuck Ang Lee is stupid. -
Edge was getting a lot of momentum as champion and it was really doing wonders with his Rated R Superstar gimmick. Now he's just a footnote in history.

Guy Hebert does not deserve his jersey retired, Burke is absolutely right. Neither does Borque for that matter. My roomate is an Avs fan and he HATES Borque.

Why did you bump this thread? What happened at DOI?

"Book of Daniel" taken off TV; moved to NBC website

The show bombed and drew no advertising. That's not caving in, that's stopping the bleeding. -
The three remaining slots will be the wrestlers Bret Hart has picked to lead the invasion.

Canucks win in the shootout, on a sick goal by Jarkko Rutuu. They can't beat Columbus and St. Louis, but beat Colorado without Naslund.
