NewsRadio - DVD Progress! Posted by Gord Lacey 6/25/2004 We're received a number of emails from fans asking what's going on with Newsradio. The set was originally scheduled for earlier this year, but was delayed because the show's creator, Paul Simms, wanted to be involved in adding special features to the set. We haven't heard a word more since late last year when we posted about the delay. Today we received the following email from Tom Berg: I do traffic reports and am a morning sidekick for a local radio show in Indianapolis, IN. The other morning we had Stephen Root on as a guest and he mentioned that he had just finished recording commentaries for the first 2 seasons of "Newsradio". You can take that for what it's worth, but hopefully that means that season sets of the show aren't too far away! That's the best news we've heard in a long time because it lets us know there's some progress being made on the set. A big thanks to Tom for sending us the information.

Best of Will Ferrell Vol. 2 sucked too just like the first one. Best of Tracy was going okay until the end when it just snowballed. WTF was King Kong doing on there? Best of Walken is a must have. Pranksters and Census Taker in DVD quality? Joy

I could see them teasing a fingerpoke throughout the night and then before the match Regal can give Eugene one of his 'Regal' speeches and he inspires Eugene to go out and fight.

I would mark out if Taker joined the Dudleyz for one night (in full Dudley gear) and during their match Taker did all the Dudley high spots until Bubba went: TAKER- GET THE TABLES with Taker doing the war dance and everything. Then Taker goes to get the table, stops, realises what he's doing and then just beats the shit out of the Dudleyz. It'd be awesome

I think Eugene is going to get the win on Monday. Someone is going to run in, take HHH out, put Eugene on top and there ya go. Miami IS The Rock's hometown but I think he's out in California shooting Spyhunter. They're teasing Jericho- maybe Y2J v. HHH at Vengeance?

About the choke thing- I don't think Shawn should be the champ right now- he's had so many opportunities to win the title that I think he should be kept out of the World title picture for a while. If they run Benoit v. HHH at Summerslam and have Benoit go over clean- it will help his credibility so much

I think the fans will soon start to turn on him or at least lose faith on him. I don't know why anyone should root for him since he always seems to blow it. When you get 5 shots at the World title in the span of about 5 months and blow them all- you're a choke artist.

You said in the past year- that was a year and a half ago. He didn't beat him- He had his shoulders pinned to the mat. It seems to be established that HBK can't win the big one and HHH seems to be adept at kicking his ass.

HBK's beaten HHH once- it was in a tag match in December. In terms of a one on one match- no. HBK's beaten Benoit once. When did HBK beat Jericho? Jericho won the rematch and that's the only interaction they've had besides the Survivor Series match. He lost because he was careless. It was his own fault. He didn't win. He blew it. And the main thing that hurt him was attempting to be a show off and failing. In his one sequence with HHH- he got Pedigreed. He couldn't put Benoit away with SCM. The match was No-DQ. Shawn has had 5 matches for the World Title since December- and blew them all. He lost his 2 year feud with Triple H. I consider that to be choking.

HBK has had 5 title matches- and blew all of them. Plus he just lost his 7 year+ feud (whatever) with HHH. I'd call that a choke artist.

I'm not dumb at all....... THANKS~! I'm not argueing that he was over at WrestleMania...... I'm talking about now...... his time is up. He's had his "15 minutes of fame" so it's time to drop the belt and stay in the upper-midcard or main event area. He just isn't a drawing champion when people like Eugene are stealing the show now. KJ Benoit is still over- I heard him get pops tonight for his work and the crowd was digging him at Bad Blood. People seem to like the guy as champ. Who would you give the belt to? HHH doesn't need it back and he's the only over heel I could think of. Orton and Batista are nowhere near ready, Kane is a joke, HBK is a choke artist and I just don't see Edge or Y2J doing anything better. Eugene getting the world title would be about the dumbest move Vince would make.

There is no way u can prove Eugene wont be over for the long haul...plus Benoit has just became "Main Event" over Gimmicks like that have a pretty short shelf life. Why do you think their pushing him to the moon now? You think in about a year Eugene will still be getting a lot of airtime and working main events? Probably not. He's just a novelty act- like Rikishi and 2 Cool in 2000 and Hogan in 2002 and the cripple in 2003. They've been prepping Benoit for the title since October. Benoit became main event over when he finally proved he wasn't a choke artist and won the RR and at Wrestlemania.

How dumb are you? No one thinks Benoit is God- they're just arguing that he is a good champion and that he's not this huge bomb people make him out to be. I was at Wrestlemania- the Garden would've shit all over the show had HBK or HHH won the match. Benoit was insanely over.

But Eugene's gimmick has a very short self life. He's way over now but it definetley will not last. And comparing Eugene to Benoit is just incredibly pointless and stupid and I don't see the point of it.

Why would you show a non-fan a match featuring a dead crowd, flat action and a minute facelock on Rey Mysterio? Of all the matches featuring the SD! 6- why show the worst one? Even Eddy and Chavo were dissapointed with the match. It's funny seeing you argue over SS02- when you still haven't justified your whacked our ratings

I still want to know how Armageddon 2002 and No Way Out 2003 are ****.

I didn't feel like remembering what exactly he said about Olsen- so I figured I'd just give the bare details. Eric S used his First Amendment rights to say bad stuff about Reagan. Frigid Soul used his to call Eric S a worthless fuck

You pick on me? I DEMAND TO SEE WHERE. I'm just kidding- I never get offended. I mean I'm the guy who got scared at Harry Potter. I disagree with pretty much everything Eric S says but I know he says stuff just to shock people. I say some pretty offensive stuff too (I'm smart enough to keep it out of my ROH reviews) so it'd be pot kettle black. Eric S is an asshole but I just ignore him. I think his tendency to say whatever is on his mind is what got him the 411 gig in the first place. His hatred for The Rock is quite sad

Eric S is from Chicago. He got fired from thesmarks after 9.11 when he said some disparaging things about Barbara Olsen. And 411 has lots of good writers who don't think of President Reagan as a bad guy. I'm one of them. Well except for the good writer part

Baseball 1993- The Braves beat the Rockies and then I watch the LA Dodgers rape Salomon Torres and the Giants and the Braves win the Division Title. 1995- Greatest moment in sports ever. Baerga flies out to Grissom and the Braves win the World Series. 1999- Chipper Jones cements his MVP status as the Braves play the Mets 6 times in a close span and win all 6 games. 1999- Kenny Rogers walks in the winning run. 2001- The first Mets home game after 9/11 was pretty special. Even though I'm a Braves fan, seeing them rally back to beat them on Piazza's HR was great. 2001- The Braves prove everyone wrong and just destroy the Astros in a three game sweep. 2001- Gonzalez. Rivera. Bases loaded. Bottom of the 9th. I've never screamed so loud. 2002- The Angels beating the Yanks made me so happy- I threw out my back. Football 1998- Broncos v. Packers. That whole game was awesome. 2001- Saints win their first playoff game and shock the world by beating the Rams. 2001- The Giants destroy the Vikings 41-0 and go to the Super Bowl. Basketball 1992- Even though they lost the series- the Knicks winning Game 1 against Chicago was cool. 1993- Starks' dunk. The only time I never wished ill-will on that man. Other then that he can rot in hell like the worthless piece of shit he is. 1994- The Knicks run to the finals was pretty magical- I thought for sure they'd win. Knicks v. Pacers was so much fun to watch. 1999- The finger roll of doom. Pacers fans can whine all they want but that 4 point play is my favourite moment in basketball history. I kicked my dad out since I thought he was bad luck and watched the game nervously. When LJ hit that three I EXPLODED and jumped off my bed and ran around the house screaming just going batshit. What a game. Any way to get a clip of that? 2002- The Nets beating the Pacers in that epic double OT game and winning their first playoff series was very cool. Hockey 1995, 2000- The Devils winning the Cups was pretty cool. Everytime the Leafs beat the Sens is pretty sweet. The Canucks winning the division title was pretty cool. Going to both overtime wins the Leafs had in last years playoffs was awesome.
