God, Paul Robinson has had a GREAT start to the season, he's be perfect for England keeper at the moment, especially as the other squad keepers are rubbish (James), unproven (Green) or an injury-prone second choice Liverpool keeper, who is kept out of the team by Jersey Dudek (Kirkland). Of course, after managing only a weak 1-1 draw with Azerbaijan, I get the impression you could play SYD James in goal and still beat us. And that's including the fact he's dead. Only hope we pop out a victory against N. Ireland in Cardiff tonight.

I think, in another excellent piece of WCW booking, he won the IWGP Jr Heavyweight title from Liger, who was making a flying visit to WCW, with the tequila bottle. Sadly, Juvi got injured, so on the next show, Liger won the title back from Psychosis, after which La Parka beat up Pstchosis with a chair. And for some reason, I still miss WCW...

The problem is that, having seen the bumps SOOOO many times, they start to lose their effect, which sadly leaves the actual wrestling to try and carry the match, something it really can't do. Despite having seen the bumps many times, I only got to watch the full match when Foley's DVD came out, and it's a real stinker, about *

There are two WWF superstars who the Rock has a concern with; there are two who might give the Rock problems. Number one is gonna be Crash Holly. Number two is going to be--Headbanger Mosh. And the Rock says, if he can get by THOSE two, then he MIGHT have a shot at winning the Royal Rumble. (The Rock at the 2000 Rumble) From the same Rumble: LAWLER: What poor schmuck is this? WHAT?! It's Grand Master Sexay... I thought he was luckier than this! JR: Some say he got a bad break at birth, but that's only a rumor!

Basically, the right opening lines can, in my opinion, make a good song even better, especially as they are the first thing your hear lyrically. Just interested as to what others think are the best opening lyrics to songs (and hoping this is deemed different enough to the "Best opening" thread). Off the top of my head, I can think of: "If you were an angel, I would cut off your wings/To keep you with me, I would do anything" (from "Untouchable" by Rialto) "Had a wife and kids in Baltimore, Jack/I went out for a ride and I never went back" (from "Hungry Heart" by Bruce Springsteen) Any other suggestions

In the last week... Also got the latest Jade Tree records sampler "Location Is Everything 2", mainly because I wanted to hear the OneLineDrawing cover of "Rapture" by Pedro The Lion

Good Charlotte got the same treatment when I was there last year, but they rode it out pretty well, telling the fans they were awesome "because the fans at Leeds couldn't even get their bottles to the stage", then encouraging everyone to throw their bottles on the count of three. It clearly worked for them because the bottles stopped within three songs.

Hey, a diary that doesn't involve WWE, TNA or ROH, kudos. You definitely needed to bring in some new talent too, there were some rotters on your original talent list. I'll certainly be reading.

It's still worth getting when they have a free CD attached though, as they're often pretty good- last weeks featured great stuff by MC5, Funeral For A Friend, My Chemical Romance and Biffy Clyro. But Metal Hammer is the discerning metal fan's UK mag of choice, not just because they have an excellent free CD each month, but for the fact they cover the heavier end of the spectrum than Kerrang, give over plenty of space to new bands (great Reuben article this month) and have a special section which is dedicated to extreme metal.

After being a fan of dull indie bands for a year or two (Dodgy, Northern Uproar and the like), hearing "Nuclear Holiday" by 3 Colours Red was a total wake-up call, even though I now realise it was in no way, shape or form original. Since "..Holiday" was so awesome, I bought the debut album "Pure" straight away on it's release. Indeed, if it wasn't for 3CR, I may never have started listening to heavier music, as I only bought my first copy of Metal Hammer due to an unreleased 3CR song on a free cd ("Halfway Up The Downs", ironically their worst song). Their split in 1999 gutted me, but their reformation and comeback dates/album has rocked my world this year.

Hey Chris, great news about the website. I also get the chance to update my signature too, which is nice Can't believe they'd cut the "Brock smearing Hogan's blood" bit of the match...surely that's the thing it's most remembered for?

You have to feel sorry for the guy and the fans clearly still loved him. Whoever takes over next really has a tough job as, unless it's a Newcastle hero like Shearer, they're going to have great difficulty taking over from someone as popular as Sir Bobby. On a lighter note, the signing of Callum Davenport by Spurs made my bank holiday, especially after going to the Coventry/Forest massacre on Saturday, where Davo looked like a star in the making. Him and King a future England centre-back pairing ?
