You quit after 10 minutes. X2 definately had a dark undertone as you got further along into the game. Well yes, it did have an element of a few dark undertones, but the game was a lot more lighthearted throughout than most of the other Square Enix titles.

For me, it started at Final Fantasy X-2. Final Fantasy, for all it's tropical feeling and bright look, it's just like the story said. Everything looked great on the outside, but on the inside, there was a dark side to everything. Sin killing everything, people living in fear with one fun in life (blitzball, god help those bastards), and sacrificing people to kill Sin for 10 years of peace. And of course, you find that out throughout the game. Chrono Trigger, yeah, it was pretty dark at times. First time I entered a dome to and saw and got an idea of A.D. 2300, I was going wow... I've never seen anything THIS bleak before on a game. Those people had no fucking hope. For a game made in 95 on a limited memory system on the Super Nintendo, they did an amazing job telling us how bad the situation was. X-2 though? POP SONGS, SHORT SKIRTS, HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY.

2 weeks ago, quite a few anaylsts still believed the Angels would win the West. 2 weeks later, I look up at the records, and see Oakland has one of the best records in the league. Not just the West, but the league. Yeah, they're for real. Let's see if they can finally win in the 1st round for once. Yankees/A's one more time would definitely have my attention. They series in the early 00s was classic stuff.

As a Red Sox fan, even I'll say I'm impressed that Wang has 16 wins so far and has a 2.7 ERA in his past 10 starts. But I don't think he's getting MVP. Halladay or Santana will be all over that with Santana I think getting the nod.

Calvin and Hobbes is the only comic I have a collection of. I got I believe all of the books for them. They are much more different that average comics, and that's what I like about em. My favorite series of comics from there was when Calvin ended up making multiple copies of himself with the cardbord box. Great stuff. My favorite single comic has to be Calvin bringing a bowl of tapioca to the TV as a sacrifice. Just brilliant stuff.

Now the Panthers I definitely see. They're the trendy pick, and of course they have STEVE SMITH, but now they have a reciever in Keyshawn that will make sure Steve Smith doesn't have ALL the attention in the world and may free him up more. Besides, who else you going to pick in the NFC. I want to pick Seattle, but thanks to me being a bit suerpstitious, i can't since Shaun Alexander made the Madden cover. It's a dumb as hell way of thinking, but the curse hasn't been proved wrong yet. But the Dolphins? Jesus, someone must have a raging hard-on for Nick Saban. I don't even have them making the playoffs in what will be a ridiculously tight wild card. You have the Patriots, Colts, Broncos, and Chiefs alomst shoe-ins to get in. Now who else? You also have the Ravens, Steelers, Chargers, Bengals and Jaguars. And your gonna tell me the Dolphins are gonna get past ALL those teams and make it to the Super Bowl? Surely you jest. Cardinals are going to make the playoffs this year. Two teams will get out of the NFC East (I think Cowboys & Redskins. One team will get out of the North (although I'm debating either the Bears or Vikings there). One will get out of the South (Carolina) as they have an off-year for once, and that leaves two left in the west. Seattle will get the first slot of course, and I think Arizona will get the 6th and final slot in the playoffs. Sidenote: Is there anyone that can persuade me to NOT think the 49ers will be the WORST team in the league?
