Originally I thought it was only good up until Season 9 (NY, the gun, The Leader, Joining the Navy, Garbage Commissioner) and thought most of Season 10 sucked at the time it originally aired (especially with the far superior Family Guy hitting the airwaves halfway through), but in light of later episodes, I'd say Season 10 was the last decent season, even though it began the "Homer gets new job every week" trend (e.g. inventor, celebrity butler, bodyguard, trucker, artist) Season 11 started off allright with the Mel Gibson episode, but descended quickly with the Ritalin parody and Homer-as-food-critic, then really fell off the map with the first bad ToH and finally with Tomacco, which I always point to as the episode changing my view on the show's progession

Could they be any more petty about this? Plus they can't spell "derivative"

Or half of Show No Mercy. Ironically, Belladonna is one of the reasons why I don't care for older Anthrax. I love a lot of the guitar riffs, but Joey's singing would turn me off of most of the songs because I think his trebly voice doesn't work with the music at all. By contrast I thought they improved leaps and bounds in picking up John Bush, who I also liked in Armored Saint. His voice put a lot of power into the Joey-era songs that Joey just couldn't provide (listen to Music of Mass Destruction or Greater of Two Evils and see for yourself) and I was rather disheartened when Scott decided to bring back Joey.

It doesn't water down the rivalries in other sports where division rivals play more than once in a season

The triangle rivalry between the Raiders/Chiefs/Broncos. Growing up in Chiefs territory I've seen several games between the three teams and it is very intense
