Spiderman. Haven't seen BB, not sure when (or if). The previews have done nothing in terms of exciting me to go see the movie (putting me in a distinct minority, I know) One comment someone else said earlier that rings similar to how I feel (albeit just based off the previews) is that I adhere to the "classic" vision of Alfred, and so when I see Michael Caine, I think "it's Michael Caine as Alfred" rather than "it's Alfred"
-
That's my perception of things. It certainly doesn't help that the hype it's getting from my friends (online and real) is too similar to Spiderman a couple years ago. "OMG OMG you have to see Spiderman d00d OMG *wank wank wank splooge*" So I saw it and it was allright, but not that great. Casting one of my least favorite big name actresses as the main woman, as well as some of the liberties with the original comic (I don't consider myself elitist, but certain things changing just didn't work for me) didn't help either.

Since about the third week of the MacFarlane hour, AD has been superior to FG, in my opinion. This week continued the trend
-
Oh man, the spiral downward continues. It started off bad, looked like it was picking up in the middle, then dove in the third segment

Oh no, Swimfan really does exist...

I'm guessing we've passed the "we'll make quality films comic book fans can enjoy" mentality and hit the "those suckers will pay for whatever shit we put on the screen" point

The Canadian skin is all red and pink and frilly and ghey... which works for its target audience I suppose I vote for Ultimate Blue

A wise man on this forum once said that ESPN has become to sports what MTV is to music

I thought FG was very hit-and-miss last night. Some of the jokes were uproarious while others just fell like a wet noodle. The AIDS song especially got nothing from me since it was too reminiscent of the far superior AIDS song from Team America. So now I think it's been three weeks in a row that AD, of which the most recent was the best yet, has blown away FG in my opinion

The Triple H DVD should just be 3 discs of his self-praising promos, because that's all I can associate with him anymore -
The g/f actually brought this award show up in conversation the other day, so I thought I'd check the thread out of curiousity. First, Napoleon Dynamite winning seems hardly a surprise if you play the "OMG Conspiracy" card, but I (and my g/f) loved the movie so I'm not really going to complain, although the divisive nature of the film is itself interesting, looking at the comments of this thread. Re: Lohan. Not really a surprise here, as she's an MTV-audience girl Re: Leo. This was a surprise to me, given that the wheels on the Leo bandwagon among MTV kids fell off not long after Titanic. Plus The Aviator (which I liked) is very much not an MTV-audience film. Most of the other awards I could care less about, although some comment earlier (that I'm not going back to find) about Stiller winning the best villain award was pretty good. I would have gone with Cruise as Vince in Collateral, but he was far too layered a villain to be appreciated by the MTV core audience. Plus, forget "Best Kiss" award, how long until we see "Best Fuck Scene" award?

Come to think of it, back to the oil thing, how come we haven't figured out how to make synthetic petroleum yet? We can make synthetic fabrics, synthetic motor oil and synthetic culture, as well as duplicate living organisms, but we can't make synthetic petroleum. I'm reminded of couple years ago when there was that whole "What would Jesus drive?" campaign. Phil Hendrie said "Jesus would drive a huge gas-guzzling Hummer because all he'd have to do is wave his hands and voila, more gas"

I'm sorry son, but you must have me confused with someone else. My name is Roger Murdock. I'm the co-pilot. Kid: I think you're the greatest, but my dad says you don't work hard enough on defense. And he says that lots of times, you don't even run down court. And that you don't really try... except during the playoffs. Kareem: The hell I don't... Listen kid, I've been hearing that crap ever since I was at UCLA. I'm out there busting my buns every night. Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes.

You know, "creative" shirts like those in this thread are a major reason why I only wear block color shirts
