  1. The Phillies did something brilliant, by sending "would have been released anyway" shits pitcher Ryan Franklin to the Reds to infect their bullpen. It seems to be working, as the Reds have already given up 7 runs in 2 innings. _____ Also, potential for a big log jam at the top of the NL Wildcard tonight. If the the Dodgers and DBacks win admist the Reds losing, there'd be a big 3-way tie for the Wild Card. Plus Colorado and Phillies 2.5 back. ___ Plus 4 White Sox games this week is ridiculous.
  2. Someone needs to tell moron Meltzer that UFc and Baseball are real sports where athletic records and kept, respected, and regarded. Thus, the fans have a right to be super critical of the athletes who cheat, unlike pro wrestling, where the competitors get bigger because it's a TV show.
  3. It's fucking Angel. He rarely gets on the comic covers, is an annoying rich-boy, and has terrible powers. He's one of the worst X-Men in history, founder or not. get over it.
  4. A double-pin is the only way out of the match.
  5. Horrible idea. Just horrible. Mid-card gets cluttered with non-contenders now. The cool Pure title was just producing some awesome, unique matches. Why?
  6. Josh Hartnet sold a drug with the name "Scat" in the movie The Faculty, which was ultimately used to kill the aliens. This thread is just as lame as that.
  7. Production on Vince alone was $135,000,000. Not to mention HUGE delays and major advertising. BOMB BOMB BOMB BOMB
  8. Thorn was a typo, good eye. He was lumped in with all the 1-0 wrestlers.
  9. This report is a fake. But just to say something to a misled poster: "I believe that could have also been said for Bret Hart after '97" Bret didn't want to work with themin a wrestling role, and still hasn't. Not the other way around. "Eric Bischoff..." Agreed. "Hulk Hogan after '93" This was never true. Once he was free from his contract he was instantly hired. "Kevin Nash after '96" They never wanted Nash to leave. Also instantly hired. Talked to towards the end of '96, as well, as Nash wasn't contractually bound to WCW during the intiial months of the nWo run. Not true. "Paul Heyman" WHAT? Heyman was ON THE WWE PAYROLL UNTIL 2001. And when ECW officially folded, he was instantly hired. "Scott Hall after '96" Most likely I agree. Problems backstage, the works. Hall would never have seen WWE TV if he wasn't needed for the nWo '02 package. "Vince McMahon will ignore ANYTHING if he thinks it would draw any type of additional attention." I don't understand this sentence. Vince has tried ANYTHING for attention, including Billy & Chuck's Howard Stern-hyped gay marriage, Hot Lesbian Action, Brock beating up the one-legged underdog, the hyped-Bret HOF speech despite Bret not being at WM, The Katie Vick angle, Bischoff making out with Stephanie, the Girls Gone Wild shoot w/ Test & Stacy, Eddie-xploitation, you name it. Not to mention the shity "blockbuster" Kane movie, Cena's upcoming flick, the nWo & DX revival for older then-teenager fans, Hogan nostalgia, Piper's return, Sable's return, and every other type of bullshit nonsense that has hurt the fed. for years instead of building for the future. "DX vs. nWo, people would want to see that." You know what? Bring Syxx, Savage, Nash, Hall, and Hogan against Michaels, Helmsley, Dogg, Ass, and Chyna...and it'd pop a HUGE fucking buyrate.
  10. Remember when former 1-year long WWE Champions got squashed by rookies in a minute at the 2nd biggest PPV of the year?
  11. "the guys knew they werent getting paied" (????????) "the crowed was the largest since they strated back touring(my guess was 2700+ with hardly any local advertising)" (???????) Lies.
  12. Can I ask something, seriously? Up intil I saw "Angle, RVD, Sabu" I wondered how ANYONE could possibly call this a good show. Seriously. Boner-riffic Smackdown! resthold-using "superstars", heatless tag teams, DQ endings (in ECW???), and Test. Please explain...I mean please Ex(treeeeme)plain?
  13. Sabin's favorite band is 311, so he being #1 much like his band comes as no surprise.
  14. TakerHart, Dreamer's Diary is a work.
  15. I got a DJ to play "True Faith" at a hip hop bar/club the other night in Wildwood, NJ and he's been playing it since.
  16. How about this one: During this week's live events, Tennessee Native JERRY THE KING LAWLER will host a Divas Body Challenge... ....AT AN ECW LIVE EVENT! Love that continuity, Vince!
  17. "Scott Steiner, Rick Steiner, Brian Pillman, Rick Rude, Steve Austin, Sid Vicious, Bam Bam Bigelow" Between the 7 of them, they had approx. 2 good matches. Taz/Bam Bam I and Austin/Mikey. Steiners were there for like 2 months if that, and were never pushed into the title scene. Fans were actually indifferent to the Steiners and cared WAY more for Mikey/Cactus, 2 Gold/Sandman, Public Enemy, and the like. Pillman did nothing. Rude did nothing. Austin did nothing, short of 2 big matches. Sid did nothing. Bigelow's only good pops came from his opponents - 1)throwing Spike into the crowd. 2)Bumping Tazz through the ring. 3)Pinning Shane the Shits Douglas for World Title in a "WTF?" moment.
  18. Ozzfest 2006 Camden, NJ review: NEW JERSEY AND PHILLY CROWDS SUCK FOR EVERYTHING - Baseball, basketball, concerts, pro wrestling, everything. Drank about 20 beers and half a bottle of vodka in the parking lot. Stupid. Met lots of the CZW fans randomly. Dragonforce was godly. Got to the front of the pit, right at the stage. The crowd sucked ass and was quiet. Lacuna Coil was good, but felt WAY out of place. Didn't rock the crowd at all. Crowd was quiet. I fell in love with sexy Christina and her entrancing vocals. Hatebreed - 1st half moshed like crazy, the crowd at Ozzfest sucked tho, 1/2 were annoying fat kids and 1/4 were skeevy old dudes and 1/4 were emoriffic. I don't care if you're 45 and feel 21 or you're some Avenged Sevenfold fan that wants to suck my dick, just get the fuck out of my way when Hatebreed is on or I'm going to impale you with my soccer cleets. Spent the last 3 songs of Hatebreed buying a new bowl. DISTURBED WAS KICKASS. That's it. I enjoyed them. SYSTEM was pleasently good, sounded a little weird for a few songs tho, including "BYOB". No suite pee. Good stuff. Left for Ozzy. Exhausted. Seen him plenty of times. He was playing with Zack Wylde so no good could come from that.
  19. I'm not Manson-head or whatever, hell, I dress preppyish, but I've always found his more popular songs, like "Disposable Teens", "Long Hard Road Out of Hell", "Personal Jesus", "The Beautiful People", and "Fight Song" to be good (not great) songs. Since I've rarely heard anything about his non-radio hits, I suppose that may mean that you're right, and Manson isn't that great at all. But to simply rip those songs, especially when they're both powerful and easy to listen to, plus sound cool, I don't understand.
  20. I like this alkeiper that supports the team yet agrees with me when I rip them. I TOLD YOU IT'D BE BETTER WHEN BOBBY WAS GONE.
  21. The fact that the Phillies pitchers are amongst the worst in the league may be reason for the large quantities of backups for them. 3.5 out of the WC, stinging loss today.
  22. Trivia: Not only is Hulk Hogan 4-0 at SummerSlam, but he has main evented the show more times than anyone.
  23. Ashely seems like a cool girl from what she posted in her blog. BTW, wwe.com Heat this week has clips of SummerSlam's past matches with Orton/Taker, Orton/Benoit, Hogan/Michaels, and Hogan/Earthquake. You know what, after watching Orton/Benoit, it's kinda sad how they fucked with Orton and gave him that title reign. In CANADA, against the unbeatable Benoit, Benoit has Orton screaming and writhing in pain. Orton then pretty much no-sells the Crossface and out of nowhere hits a fluke RKO for the win, then has a look of "I WON?!?!?!?!" on his face as the crowd sits in shock. Then he loses it a month later. I hate Orton's workrate and attempts at speech, but that was a shitty thing to do to him in case he ever improved. He's seen as a fluke winner and not a capable titleholder.
