  1. That chick in the Peach Tree ads is hot. Oooooh, how about "WELCOME TO DEE HOUSE OF BEER. WE HAVE ____ KINDS OF BEER. TELL ME WHEN YOU'RE READY." "I'm ready. I'll have a Sam Adams..." Da da da, dee-da...
  2. Eddie's not really a contender...he's been pinned by Rey and lost multiple tag matches in recent weeks. I think Eddie's purpose in the Rumble is to get eliminated by Booker or Rey (most likely) Rey, so he can turn heel and face Rey at WM.
  3. I was just Flair's quote about Foley. BTW, who is that in your sig?
  4. Hey keep the old time WCW coming!
  5. Can you guys fill me in on some questions I have about these results? I have been out of the loop with all of Japan's promotions lately and am interested. 2. IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title #1 Contender Match: Jushin Thunder Liger beat Koji Kanemoto (10:30) with a cradle. How's Liger working now? Showing his age? Considerably slower? Still fast-paced? More matwork? What's his finish. 3. IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title: Tiger Mask beat Heat © (14:17) with a Tiger suplex hold to become the 47th champion. Which Tiger Mask # are we up to, identity? 4. Amaresu Exhibition Match: Yuji Nagata beat Katsuhiko Nagata (5:00) by 15-11. Yuji Nagata was incredibly awful in the States in the late 90's. Has his style changed? Is he better? I usually see people complain his work is overrated. 7. Ron Waterman won an 8 Man Ultimate Royal (21:55). Participants: Yuji Nagata, Blue Wolf, Masayuki Naruse, Toru Yano, Manabu Nakanishi, Mitsuya Nagai, Ron Waterman & Dolgorsuren Sumiyabazar - Round 1: Ron Waterman beat Masayuki Naruse (2:35) by referee stop. - Round 1: Manabu Nakanishi beat Toru Yano (3:09) with an armlock. - Round 1: Dolgorsuren Sumiyabazar beat Mitsuya Nagai (5:46) with a shoulder hold. - Round 1: Yuji Nagata beat Blue Wolf (5:49) with a heel hold. - Semi Final: Ron Waterman beat Manabu Nakanishi (1:02) with a front neck lock. - Semi Final: Yuji Nagata beat Dolgorsuren Sumiyabazar (1:53) by referee stop. - Final: Ron Waterman beat Yuji Nagata (1:41) with a V1 armlock. Ultimate Battle Royal? That's h2o Waterman, how has he faired? Developed significant skill? Been re-contacted by WWE since they released him? Why is Nagata in another bout? 8. Dogfight: Masahiro Chono beat Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Riki Choshu (18:07). - Masahiro Chono beat Riki Choshu (6:34) with a sliding Yakuza kick. - Masahiro Chono beat Hiroyoshi Tenzan (11:33) with an FTS. Are three-way matches common now in Japan? Chono, Tenzan, and Choshu must be really, really old now. I remember Chono was alright back in 92, and quite boring in 97-98 (in the States), he must be heavily deteriorated by now? Ok to watch? 9. IWGP U-30 Openweight Title: Shinsuke Nakamura beat Hiroshi Tanahashi © (24:45) with a cross armbreaker to become the 2nd champion. U-30 Openweight Title? Who are these guys, whats their background/gimmick/story?
  6. IWCCW - "Jumping" Joe Savoldi, "Ravishing" Rick Rude (worked one benefit show, hyped to hell), CURLY MOE (remember him?), Vic Steamboat, Tony Atlas, who else...? Who did Savoldi feud with for the Lt. Heavyweight Title?
  7. A countout and DQ in the two biggest matches. Hey, you're getting close to the debut of NITRO on TNT. I think it'd be interesting to see how your WWF responds to Bischoff giving results away, stealing Alundra, stealking Hall & Nash, Savage, etc.
  8. LABYRINTH is a cool Cure song.
  9. Wow, those glorified stuntmen in ECW like Foley who just set themselves on fire and cut each other up OUTSOLD Flair? "Whooo!"
  10. ***MISLEADING THREAD TITLE and SUBTITLE*** T.O.'s gonna be in there, I predict. It doesn't sound like Reid's gonna have a choice.
  11. 2006 needs to have a PPV in Philly.
  12. Not a chance. I've got Benny going about 25-35 minutes. Anyone doing a Rumble pool with friends? We usually get together, each throw in $5-10, pick names out of a hat (number of names depending on how many people enter), and you get those guys...if he wins you get the pot. I got Benoit and The Cat last year. In 2003 I got Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, and B2.
  13. I enjoyed the opening video to Survivor Series 2001 when they showed the various WWF Opening logos throughout the years... And for one last time used "The World Wrestling Federation, for over 30 years the revolutionary force in sports entertainment."
  14. "It amazes me that they refuse to put the Savage Steamboat IC title match as the top match ever there... Now that they have Steamboat as a Roadagent and all" Dude, its a re-release of the old Coliseum Video...lol, we've been over this multiple times in threads before. If they're gonna release 'em all, there's gonna be crap along the way.
  15. Where do Asian guys bouncing in a barrel to unlock M & M Candy Bar, "Come Shee Da Baby!", and "Just Place the Bets, Paul..." fall on this scale.
  16. Hass, check out Jeffrey in TNA for more of that. His worst look ever was ironically when he main evented their first 3 hour PPV.
  17. Konnan and James seem like two of the funnest people to hang out with in the business.
  18. My point was, JBL's reign has sucked, produced few, if any good matches (only his initial bouts with Eddy had anything remotely interesting). JBL's reign sucks, however, it hasn't kept WWE from keeping him at the top. And you know what? Regardless of whether or not he had "staying power" (he didn't), they STAYED with him. And now he's getting over as a credible champion. The ratings has improved and his PPV title match and current angle on Smackdown! is seen as "could be good" instead of the usual "God, it's JBL..." My point: WWE will create its own "staying power" with who they choose to feed us. This isn't 1998. There is no Austin. No Rock. No Foley. They're desperate. That's why Orton's main evented every Raw show since SummerSlam, despite the hostility towards his megapush. That's why Batista, like it or not, and we seem to like it, is next. And that is why he will stay around, because he has the basic tools (like JBL, but much better and more potential development) and is ready for them to strike when the candle is hot. This Sunday.
  19. Haha @ Heenan's "Dirty politics in Texas" comments. I'm totally pulling for Haku to win the title here. Time for Warrior to speak... I CAN FEEL IT!!!!!!!!!!! CHOSEN!!!!!!!!!! Haku hits the Warrior Splash on Warrior, nut no good... I won't spoil the winner, tho.
  20. But I feel Batista will sustain popularity. He has a decent enough power moveset, gives real-sounding interviews, has a cool look, has even won the male fans over, is marketable, can work with a variety of sized wrestlers, and if put over by HHH properly, will be solidified. Hell, if JBL can be WWE Champion for 7-9 months, Batista can definately do much, much better.
  21. It's right on The Sledgehammer message boards. If all fails and they took it down I'll upload it to my server and share soon.
  22. That video beat was good til Vanilla Ice started doing wrestling moves in the hood. Embarassing.
  23. Maybe the "experts" should wait for Batista to BECOME a full-time main event face before they explain why it isn't working...
  24. No, but having a monster finally do to La Resistance with their trademark pole definately stuck out as awesome. Batista's gonna be just fine as a main eventer. Every single person watching Rumble with me Sunday is rooting for his victory.
  25. Quote: "there is nothing really significant that sticks out about him" Tonight on Raw he shoved a flagpole in a man's ass after promising to so.
