  1. Bagwell was an awesome young worker back in '91-94 WCW, though.
  2. Rod Barajas sucks so much. Um, can we get Chris Coste back, please? 3-0 Nats over Phils in the 6th. Sean Hill is a pretty damn good opponent for Cole Hamels and is outpitching him. Cole has loaded the bases in the 6th and given up 2 runs so far. Damn.
  3. Toni Marchette in 90210. Poor Dylan, he had finally found happiness with Rebecca Gayheart. It was that stupid kitten's fault, really.
  4. After smoking cigarettes for 5 years I quit. Yay. 3 days strong. Fill this thread with good advice to help me stay off the cancer-causing tar sticks.
  5. Howard just crushed one into the wind, 3-0 Phils and Lieber looks sharp.
  6. another well-pitched Jon Lieber game tonight would be a good thing. Hope the big three stay hot...five in a row? And I want to see a big Myers 8th inning lockdown.
  7. An accidental title win?
  8. I can't wait to watch a very special edition of Sportscenter: "NY Yankees: Last Place".
  9. At the College Night on the 2nd day of the year against the Atlanta Braves, it was Dollar Dog Night. I was in the 200 level, and above me there were tons of things being thrown into the outfield, and a NY Giants fan who wore an Eli Manning jersey was absolutely brutally beaten up by a group of college kids. Why would you wear such a jersey to Philly if not to look for trouble? The hot dog/pretzel/beer throwing began after Gordon blew the lead in the 9th and they had to keep stopping to clean the field.
  10. If A-Rod saw you calling him "Alexander" in public repeatedly to gain attention on yourself he'd probably kick you in the stomach. Plus A-Rod isn't a winner. At any rate, glad to see Phillie's big three JRol, Chase, and Howard starting to all play well at the same time. The bottom of the lineup may be garbage but the good players are really, really good when they're on. So hope it keeps up. Three in a Row! Whoa! "Congratulations, Philly, you have the worst fans in baseball (excluding present company, of course)." Philadelphia is so tame compared to incidents in the 90's and 70's. Please. For all we know, it was an Astros fan throwing hot dogs at the Astros outfielder for his team sucking ass. Wow, a few weiners get thrown around, INDICT THE CITY! Chill, bro.
  11. If Raw was actually a good show, then less people would read the spoilers to "see if it was worth watching", thus you'd see these threads packed when they tape overseas. Since Raw has sucked since 2001, you get 7 pages and like it.
  12. With the former Assassin Jody Hamilton booking DSW, including telling Meltzer tonight that MIKE KNOX and his partner there are, and I quote, "THE BEST TAG TEAM IN WRESTLING TODAY" (!!!), no wonder they failed. The Assassin running a wrestling program? WWE was wise to axe them.
  13. I just watched the WWE Tag Title Change and absolutely loved it. Londrick being The Rockers to Deuce & Domino's Power & Glory at SSlam 1990 was sweet. D & D have a ton of energy and although haven't really established their individual identites, and may fall victim to being lumped in with teams like the Bashams or DOA because of their similar looks, there's one noticeable difference (besides their hair)...Deuce & Domnino are full of energy, hit fun double-teams, and awesome strikes. Please give them 15 minutes with Londrick at Judgment Day, since Backlash is a RAW PPV with 1-3 ECW/SD! matches. So yeah, I don't like the see the title streak ended, but since they deemed it necessary, it might well have been D & D. Oh yeah... CRACK 'EM IN DA MOUTH!
  14. Just wanted to say that I'm psyched the Phils won two in a row (COLE BABY) and Yanks/Sox tonight was awesome.
  15. I hate to keep the Phillies talk at "Bitch, bitch, bitch!" because I remember Anglesault and his ramblings (although he was dramatically negative for a pretty GOOD team) but seriously...what else can you say about this season? How did they lose this game?!?! 1 hitter with two outs in the 9th!!!
  16. Like he wasn't gonna blow it.
  17. Tom Gordon's latest blown save caused me to smash a bottle of something I was going to drink tonight. God he sucks.
  18. The Phillies 3rd base coach just stopped Pat Burrell from rounding third on a bloop shot that fell, which the 3rd base coach should have been watching. So Burrell stays at 3rd, and useless Abraham Nunez hits into a double play, ending the inning. That's three runs I've counted that the 3rd base coach has cost the Phillies this year. The previous two came in games the Phils lost by *1 run*. Charlie Manuel put the 3rd base coach there. Thus, Charlie is to blame for at least 2 losses this year, and possibly now a third if the Reds win by 1. Lieber looks sharp into the 4th, 1 hit.
  19. You know, I'm gonna pull for Jon Lieber to throw a good game tonight. I like that he was fired up when they put him in the bullpen, and he seems to really wanna win, so good for him. I like the words, but an 11.75 ERA makes me think it might just be talk. Phils really need to win 2/3 from the Reds at worst. Maybe Myers can come in and steal a win, too.
  20. Orton blowing his chance for the 3rd or 4th time is an awesome 4:20 present. He can eat an FU at Backlash and be gone. HEY HEY NOTHING YOU CAN SAY SAY. "they behaved exactly how you would expect each of them to behave: Batista was calm and cool, Orton was acting like he'd never seen a pair of tits before." That's an awesome visual, though. "Oh my God! Dave! Did you see those?" "Yeah, bro."
  21. "Okay smart guy, how many wins is a good manager worth? Cite some examples of where good managerial prowess makes a decisive shift in a team's performance over the couse of the season." You'd have to go as far back as, I dunno, LAST YEAR, MARLINS. At one point last year I had a list of Manuel's dumbfuck decisions and how many games it cost the Phillies, I believe it was around 9. Those are just the ones that I counted.
  22. I love how they left out the shitty Land of the Dead movie and then made fun of the stupid "attack bus" shit from an otherwise okay Dawn of the Dead remake with "It's...THE KIDS. THEY HAVE...MODIFIED THE BUS!"
  23. "The difference between a good and bad manager is probably a couple of wins at best." WHAT?
  24. One of these six pitchers had to go to the bullpen to fix the problem, and of the six, Myers was the best candidate no matter how you sort them. As ridiculous as the move may look on its face, it was the best way to address the situation. Manuel has PUBLICLY STATED "Freddy Garcia, we'd like to see him go 5 innings, 75-80 pitches". 5 innings? With THAT bullpen? Hmmm, why not, I dunno, until Freddy's ready for more pitches, have him throw some setup innings while Lieber gets his "final try" as a starter. Believe me, sending Garcia to the pen is absurd. I know how it sounds. So is putting Myers there. The whole thing is absurd. But Myers isn't the best candidate. Back up a level. Why does Charlie Manuel have this impossible problem? Why does he have six starting pitchers and one strikeout reliever? For that matter, why does he have six starting pitchers, one strikeout reliever, and Wes Helms as his everyday third baseman? Or Shane Victorino in right field? Or four straight right-handed batters after the cleanup spot? For the answers to that, we have to look to Manuel’s boss, Pat Gillick. It was Gillick who assembled this misshapen mess of a roster. It was Gillick who dealt away Bobby Abreu and Jim Thome for, on this roster, Aaron Rowand and Matt Smith. You can argue that those deals paved the way for the contracts Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley now enjoy, or the presence of Eaton and Garcia on the roster, but there’s definitely been a cost to those trades. Thome’s absence hasn’t been felt thanks to Ryan Howard, but you can’t argue that this team is better off right now without Abreu, no matter how much the city hated him. Yeah let's eat Thome's contract while he either A) Starts at 1b and Ryan Howard doesn't set the Phillies all-time record in home runs and wins MVP. Or B) We pay Thome to pinch hit. Thome had to go. Rowand was a fine, likeable replacement until he crushed his face. Ever since then, his batting average has went down, his offensive production has suffered, and he's been off a step defensively. The Phillies problems now, IMO, are 50% Manuel, 30% players, 20% Gillick.
  25. Sting couldn't draw an extra .2 to TNA's ratings, much less be a bigger draw than Batista. STOP THE MADNESS. No one cares about Ric Flair's career in 2007, he's a novelty act. If anything, fans are insulted when he gets pushed over young guys. Hardy might have some "teen girl / little kid" draw, but Cena's already drawn those fans to the arena. Thus, Jeff does nothing.
