  1. Cigarette company president: But that'll bankrupt us! Peter: Like the way you've morally bankrupted America? [Everyone laughs. Peter turns to the "writers" the tobacco company gave him.] Peter: Thanks for the zinger, guys. Now give me a good line to go out on. Writer: Sorry, it's our lunch break. [They walk off. Peter turns to the Congress.] ... Peter: Well, that's my Momma!
  2. Peter: Come on, Lois...a boat is a boat...but the box could be anything! It could even be a boat! You know how much we want one of those. We'll take the box!
  3. Peter: Well it wouldn't be the first time I had a vision. [Flashback. Peter and Brian are at the breakfast table.] Peter: Oh my God, Brian, there's a message in my Alphabits! OOOOOOOOOOOOOO... Brian: Peter those are Cheerios.
  4. I'm sure it's been done before, but fuck it. Post your favorite lines here. "Next we go to Ollie with the Black-U-Weather forcast. Ollie?" "It gonna rain." "Thanks Ollie."
  5. No reason to put the heels over at a house show, I guess.
  6. I have a friend who works for the WWE production team who is going to play a fat guy in an upcoming Simon Dean vignette.
  7. I actually bought World Tour 96 on ebay for $1. Austin/Hart, with Austin tapping to Bret before their feud really started. The shit I can never find is the IYH: Degeneration-X PPV. I know it's supposed to suck, but I want to see every WWF/E PPV ever and that's one of the few I haven't seen. I guess it wasn't released in the U.S Other than the DX PPV, I haven't seen Badd Blood from 1997, though that's not quite as hard to find. I've seen the Winter Combat VHS, but not the entire IYH 4 and 5 shows. I own IYH #2 and #7.
  8. Well, Steph DID tell her that she looked fat.
  9. ...who invaded RAW in early 1997, along with some ECW stars like John Kronus of the Eliminators...
  10. "This is what you get when you fuck a stranger in the ass, Larry!" John Goodman's speech about 'Nam "I did not go to war for this shit...." The best line of the movie, ironically has no cursing in it: "Who's got your undies, Walter?"
  11. Yawn. Isn't the main event Stevie vs. Rodney Mack or something?
  12. What song would make a great entrance theme for a wrestler? It can be one that somebody uses/used in the past, or something you just think would work really well.
  13. Like before, I tried to put in TV results and at least one house show for every year, so you can see what things were like at the time. We have RVD beating Christian for the IC title, Kane beating Jericho for the IC title, Kurt Angle as champion in 2001, Kanyon wrestling a WWF match in 1994, the Rebellion 1999 pay per view in England, a tour of England in 1992, and plenty more. 14. I just saw some hilarious shit. At WWF It's Time, Flash Funk enters and dances in front of the announce table. Vince starts shaking it and "dancing". "Come on, JR! Loosen up a bit!"
  15. Got this off the CZWfans board: ===================================================== I’m really forgetful when it comes to results, I tend to pay more attention to the actual match itself, so I will just post individual match thoughts: Pre-Show: Johnny Kashmere comes out and basically says that the reason he is here today is because “they tried to shut Johnny Kashmere down.” He mentions he’s been doing some acting lately as well. This segment served to get everyone up to date on what Kashmere has been doing since his break from wrestling. This gets the show started and soon the first match is underway: 4-way with GQ (Galvan Quarterback) and 3 other guys I've never seen before, I believe they are students somewhere: Nice opener, probably the best GQ match I've seen in a long time. Some ringside brawling with Johnny Kashmere (completely decked out in a tuxedo) playing the interferring manager. Julio Dinero vs. Reckless Youth Some comedy spots early on, Julio playing it up like he was drunk and thought he was drinking "virgin" beverages earlier in the night. Nice little match. After the match, the fans were chanting for Reckless Youth and he said that next month he'd come as Reckless Youth [and not Tom Carter], complete with Reckless Youth spots (as he pointed to the roof of the bar) TABLES MATCH: Rebel’s Army (Rockin’ Rebel and Greg Matthews) vs. Ian Knoxx and a mystery partner (Nick Gage!) The ring announcer tells the fans that whoever gets pinned in this matchup is effectively BANNED from Pro Wrestling Unplugged for 60 days. After that, Rebel and Matthews came out decked out in cowboy outfits, complete with hats and stirrups. Knoxx and his mystery partner (Nick Gage) hit the ring. For awhile they worked the match without the tables. Rebel and Gage really got stiff in this one. Ian Knoxx took a heck of a beating with chops galore courtesy of the Rockin’ Rebel. Finally, they whipped out a few tables, and this turned into an out of control brawl with a few really brutal table spots. Nick Gage ended up getting pinned (therefore banning him from Pro Wrestling Unplugged for 60 days)… Ring announcer Dennis Shock announced that Gage was banned from Pro Wrestling Unplugged for the 60 days. Gage wasn’t happy with this AT ALL and started going crazy, smacking the glasses off of Dennis Shock and sending them FLYING. He went into the bar and emerged again to the ring area with a trashcan in hand. He smashed somebody with the trash can, sending all sorts of garbage flying all over the ring. Pro Wrestling Unplugged security ended up hitting the ring to subdue Gage, and he grabbed a piece of table and started pounding each and every one of their heads. He gave Luscious Lily what looked to be a legit bloody nose. With all but one of the security guards laid out courtesy of Nick Gage, Gage went for some more table shots on the last one, but this security guy totally no sold them. Eventually Gage was subdued and left the ring. Sonjay Dutt then came out and talked about his dislocated elbow. He said he should be returning to action in 3-4 weeks. Jack Evans vs. Deranged This match was an awesome high flying matchup. Jack Evans hit some INSANE aerial moves and got the win. Chri$ Ca$h vs. B-Boy Nice match… One thing I remember was a brutal dropkick to Ca$h in the corner. B-Boy ended up getting the win. Trent Acid and Red vs. the Maximos This was the main event of the evening. Lots of ringside brawling by everyone in the match early on. One of the great moves was some sort of dive by Trent Acid on to one of the Maximos on a table ringside. A bit later, I believe Trent was tagged in by Red but referee Mike Kehner didn’t see it. This resulted in Red being left stranded in the ring at the mercy of the Maximos. Finally, Trent gets the tag and busts out some nice moves on the Maximos. The Maximos end up getting the best of Trent and Red, and score the pinfall. After the match, the Maximos taunted Trent and Red and were throwing plastic chairs into the ring. Finally, much of the locker room comes out, including Ian Knoxx, who jumped from the ROOF OF THE BAR to the ring area. It seems like the locker room was split into 2 factions. Eventually Kashmere got on the mic and told the Maximos to go out the front door, and that they weren’t getting paid. That wrapped it up as fans were encouraged to go to the bar, unless they were under 21 (these fans had to leave the premises immediately.) Miscellaneous thoughts: The environment was very cool… Before the show, you could pretty much go up to anybody, meet them, shake their hand, get their autographs, whatever. This was a great chance to chit-chat with some of indy wrestling’s biggest names. During several matches, there was “white noise” emitting from the sound system which caused a bit of a distraction. Also, somewhere around the time of the middle of the show, apparently the police came and “shut down the PA system,” which led to the ring announcer being forced to yell out the matches as they were happening, and also call the wrestlers down (no music entrances.) This truly was UNPLUGGED pro-wrestling. No Teddy Hart. Arguably one of the biggest names on the card, he wasn’t there. This is pretty frustrating, as this makes the 3rd show I’ve been to that he was “supposed” to be at. CZW’s “In Da Club,” and then CZW’s “Best of the Best 4.” This show makes 3. This guy has proven himself to be totally unreliable and erratic in his bookings. What’s the point of building a fan base if you ignore them? Come on Teddy. Before the show, Gary Michael Cappetta was talking with fans, asking questions like “How long have you been a fan of pro wrestling?” This was taped, so I assume it will be on the video release. The wrestlers also entered the building on a red carpet and talked to the camera a bit. Overall, this show was great and definitely worth the price of admission. Got a chance to meet with a few wrestlers, have them sign their autographs, chat with them, etc… The wrestling itself was good too. The tables match was outstanding, really stiff, and Nick Gage REALLY brought the intensity, as he always does. The rest of the card was strong, not really a bad match on the card.
  16. Pro Wrestling Unplugged 9/25/04 From the infamous Berwyn Tavern in Philadelphia, PA Johnny Kashmere, of the Backseat Boyz, cut a promo introducing us to the concept of PWU. Gavin Quartermain d. Ashe "Silly String" Samuels, Javier w/Seth and James Newblood in a four way match, when Gavin pinned Newblood. Reckless Youth aka "Technician" Tom Carter d. Julio Dinero w/Timothy B. Idol in a comedy mixed with wrestling match, when Carter frogsplashed Dinero Rockin' Rebel/Greg Matthews d. Nick Gage/Ian Knoxx in a tag team match, when Matthews hit a top rope elbow drop on Gage As a result of being pinned in the match, Gage is not allowed to wrestle on any PWU shows for 60 days Sonjay Dutt cut a promo talking about PWU and being hurt. He challenged the winner of the following Junior Heavyweight Title match. Jack Evans d. Deranged in the match of the night B-Boy d. Chris Cash in a stiff encounter In The Main Event The SAT (Joel/Jose Maximo) d. Trent Acid/Amazing Red in a match that saw a big postmatch brawl with the PWU locker room. It even included an Ian Knoxx roof dive into a pile of PWU superstars. Quick Notes: The Berwyn Tavern is easily my new favorite venue in wrestling. Phil pours a perfect Guiness. The show was very interactive and fan friendly. The whole venue was all about PWU, something you don't see in alot of other venues. Dan Maff, who was originally scheduled to wrestle, told PWU he wouldn't be able to make it, due to having fluid built up in his left arm. The DOI wishes him a fast recovery, as too many people, recently, have been suffering nagging injuries. Teddy Hart also cancelled off the show, due to his hand injury, which he suffered in a squirmish in Canada. There were monitors all over the bar, so if you went to get a drink, you wouldn't miss any of the action. I'd call Kashmere's first outing as a promoter a success, as the crowd was in the 150-175 range and into the show. Overall- A very fun show, which I'll recap, in detail, later on this week. 18. Wow, people love 1997 and 2000. Cool stuff.
  19. You'll probably get shit for not putting any ROH or other indy stuff on there.
  20. I was watching Boondock Saints again the other day and DAMN do they say "fuck" a lot in that movie. What move do you think has the most cursing/swearing/naughty words ever?
  21. 1) What was the storyline reason for the Giant joining the nWo in 1996 so soon after losing his title at Hog Wild to Hogan? Was a good explanation ever given? And how long did he last in the nWo before leaving again? 2) When did Bischoff join the nWo and what was the reason given?
  22. Added Halloween Havoc 1996, and updated prices for the tapes. $8 for a master, $5 for a first gen tape. Email me or PM me if you want anything.
  23. Oh, I know all about Scott Keith. I go back and forth on his ratings, but agree a majority of the time with him, I suppose. But the matches I asked about here are either from reviews he did a shitty job on and never redid (Slamboree 97, for example) or matches I've heard varying opinions on, and am looking for some others. I'm interested to hear you liked the Benoit/Meng matches, Cawthon. See? Keith only gave the deathmatch **1/4.
  24. How good/bad are these matches?
