  1. I guess I just don't understand why it worked so well. I understand the whole pro U.S.A and early 90's marks thing, but there was no backlash against a non-sensical turn and never explaining the Narcissist gimmick? Everything was suddenly hunky dory? I mean were there ever any other turns in history where the people were suddenly supposed to love a guy so fast?
  2. I just can't resist... Ha! I was exactly right last night in the RAW thread! Whoooooooooooooo! Trips/HBK in the cell, and probably Benoit/X.
  3. I was watching an old RAW from early August 1993 after Lex Express Mania was running wild. Anyways, it was one of the "Who is Lex Luger?" interviews that are just extremely sappy. I thought a funny line from it was something to the effect of: "Back in high school if you were shy, and you excelled in something, people took it that you were arrogant, and it's like a vicious circle. It was really strange, and sometimes I think that I fight that to this very day in my career." Well duh, no shit. You came to the ring and stared at yourself in a mirror...no arrogance there, right Lex? I mean come on...did people really buy this shit? Did the marks love Lex at the time, and the smart marks despise him?
  4. That shit was awesome! 1-800-I-FEEL-OK
  5. Man I'd love to be able to go to awesome live shows like this. Anyone know of any good indy feds in North Carolina? At least Heenan will still be there, that's pretty cool. Shows should still be really good.
  6. Yeah, but this is the WWE we're talking about! It's going to be the Summer of Bradshaw! It's going to be Jindrak-Mania running wild! It's going to be Mordecai and Taker shooting fake lightning bolts at each other! It's going to be the brilliant idea of "The Dudley"! EDIT: On a side note, it would be weird to see RVD work matches as a heel. I wonder if he'd actually work as a heel, or just do his same thing.
  7. For some reason I just see them having RVD and Misterio as a tag team. But a heel turn would be cool. Maybe when RVD resigns his contract they'll give him a push for it.
  8. I don't see why people are surprised at the placement of Eddie/JBL. They were shooting that segment after, and didn't want to send the crowd home on that note. And there's no way in hell Booker wins at JD. Sorry.
  9. Wow...you cleaned up in that deal. I bought some tapes on the net of old RAW's...6 hours for like 12 bucks. I think it's safe to say you did pretty well.
  10. Wow, that was awesome. Thanks a lot!
  11. I watched Acid vs. Hart at Clickwrestle...really not what I expected. Not a whole lot of wrestling, at least from what they showed in the clips...just a brawl with TONS of crowd heat. They brawl outside and Acid piledrives Teddy on a car and Teddy powerbombs Acid off a car through a table. Eventually Acid hits the Yakuza kick into a chair after Zandig interferes. Anyways, just crazy crowd heat for this one. I know I'm really late in posting this, but who cares?
  12. I've heard of all these guys, and in some cases (like Messiah) seen them work one match before. But I was wondering if you guys could do a rundown on the following workers - maybe say what style they wrestle, their strengths and weaknesses, etc. Messiah Matt Sydal Austin Aries Emil Sitoci Chris Cash Ryan Boz Nick Gage Adam Pearce Thanks.
  13. Weird stuff about the Heel section. I predict AJ beats Raven by DQ this week, and they set up a rematch down the road in a hardcore ladder match.
  14. Since nobody has posted anything yet, I thought I'd post this here from the IWA-MS website. 15. Nevermind, got it, I'm an idiot. Feel free to delete this.
  16. What programs can you use to view .art files?
  17. I am shocked that this entire episode of Velocity will go by without an appearance from Orlando Jordan, The FBI, Hardcore Holly, or Billy Gunn.
  18. I'm sure guys like Perfect, HBK, and Jannetty will be mentioned here. But I always get a laugh out of D-Von Dudley. Sure, he doesn't oversell a ton during the matches, but when he takes a big bump or a big move I always laugh when he spasms all over the mat, completely overselling it. Anyone else out there you'd like to mention?
  19. And yet our main event? Bradshaw vs. Funaki. Well, they have to build up Bradshaw for that money-making main event at Judgment Day. Since Bradshaw hates foreigners, what could be better than to have him squash a little Chinese guy? I believe he's Japanese.
  20. And yet our main event? Bradshaw vs. Funaki.
  21. Wow, did that almost go 20 minutes?
  22. These guys are working their asses off. Kind of sad they'll just be jobbers for JBL or something like that.
  23. If we're lucky, Jindrak will turn face this summer. See, Rikishi will turn heel and start squashing lower midcarders. On July 4th (on top of the USS Intrepid), there will be a special Rikishi vs. America challenge where several SmackDown wrestlers will try to bodyslam Rikishi. Those superstars will fail and Rikishi will appear to have won. Then, Mark Jindrak will arrive via helicopter. He'll bodyslam Rikishi and turn into a patriotic face. The funny thing is I actually watched the July 5, 1993 RAW earlier today and watched the highlights from the Stars and Stripes Challenge. I just hated how they never explained Luger's face turn suddenly from the Narcissist - not even to say that he realized he was being stupid and wanted to defend his country, or something like that.
  24. Holy crap - they're actually having Bradshaw/Funaki as the main event??? Wow. This is how Velocity should be, though...just straight matches and interviews, no recap crap. Too bad there'll probably be a ton of recap stuff after this match.
