Was the WWF already planning to have Mr. Perfect return to the ring before they were forced into doing that angle for Survivor Series 1992?
-
Maybe so, but that doesn't mean it's stupid. For one, Capital Carnage didn't have any bearing on the major storylines of the time period, and two, the explanation actually makes sense. I don't see a problem with that one at all personally, but to each his own, I guess. The weird thing about it is that Jacqueline did the job, not Mero!

People think that the WM10 ladder match was the first of its kind in the WWF.
-
Damn, nine hours, that's huge.

After arriving in WCW in 1994, when did the fans start to turn on Hogan a bit? I know he was never outright booed, but weren't there scattered boos not far into his WCW tenure? Were there other times near the end of his WWF stint where he was starting to get booed? I know he was slightly at the 1992 Royal Rumble after the stuff with Sid. Were people starting to turn on him slightly back then, too?

It's kind of weird, but one of the main reasons I'm NOT ordering this PPV is because Hogan is on it.

It's just weird how life works. Candido only was in the match because Kid Kash quit, and they thought Hoyt vs. Apollo by itself wouldn't be good enough. Siaki is going to take this hard, no doubt, but hopefully he's able to move on. It's not going to be easy, though.

Another note from Meltzer's update:

Totally agree. Candido's stint in IWA-MS had so much fun stuff. Him and Daniels busting out so many WWF finishers at the end of that match had me rolling. I missed the start of Impact, did they say anything about him?

Dave Prazak's post from the IWA boards:

I totally agree, I was going to post something like this. I really, REALLY liked the MNM vs. Eddie/Rey match this week, much better than the MSG match. You had the great in match story with Eddie and Rey, some cool heel cheating by MNM, a funky breakdance leg drop by Nitro, some nice double teams. Really well executed. I'm interested to see where they go from here with the storyline, though I have doubts that Eddie can get over as a total heel...but we'll see, it should be interesting...

A match you should see if you never have is Skip (Candido) vs. Barry Horowitz at Summerslam 1995...a really underrated, fun as hell match.

Apparently Candido's brother posted on another board: Posted: Fri Apr 29, 2005 1:10 am Post subject: farewell chris candido -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "I find it only fitting you hear the truth from me about the death of my bestfriend, brother, and soulmate. Chris died tonight due to a blood clot brought on by complications with his surgery. I just want to tell everyone that in their sorrow, find a way to be happy that he went out the way he wanted to...on top of the world, blonde, tan, and loving life up until the last minute. Every ounce of my brother loved this sport, and for him to go out 2 or 3 years ago wouldn't have been a fitting end to the life of such a determined, passionate, and benevolent human being. I truly view my brother as an angel as will all who knew him. Thanks to everyone for all your positive press, Chris went out a happy man and will forever live on as the(one of) greatest of all time. He would have had it no other way."

I wish I could post some of Chris' work in IWA-MS since his return. He was so damn charismatic, so damn good. Here's one match I have of Chris, vs. Shawn Michaels from WWF: http://s39.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3J33N20...SV0BFT6AANT0NYL

Inside the cage, Sonny Siaki did a dropkick and landed on Candido's leg, ankle, breaking it. He had to have surgery on it.
-
He was 32. DOI said he died from a staph infection.

CHRIS CANDIDO PASSES AWAY By: Bob Ryder 4/29/2005 12:31:56 AM Chris Candido passed away Thursday night after collapsing earlier in the evening and being rushed to a hospital by ambulance. The cause of death is unknown at this time. Candido had suffered a serious ankle injury at the Lockdown pay-per-view on Sunday and had surgery to repair the injury on Monday evening. Candido appeared at TNA's iMPACT taping on Tuesday night in Orlando just hours after being released from the hospital. The news comes as an absolute shock to all of us who have worked with Chris in recent months. On behalf of everyone at 1wrestling.com, our thoughts and prayers are with Tammy and his family and friends.

Gabe Sapolsky posted: "I don't really know what to say so here is a thread for Chris. I'll post some thoughts on him once I'm out of this state of shock." So I guess it's slowly making the rounds or whatever...Chris, since his return, had been so damn entertaining. His stuff in IWA-MS was some of the funniest work I'd ever seen in my life. He was so damn good.
-
I hate DOI so sorry to post their shit on the thread here...I was REALLY enjoying seeing the new, clean Chris Candido recently. This sucks so much.
-
Gabe just posted on the ROH boards about it too...apparently it's true.
-
Hopefully this isn't true...

DOI and RF, bringing the classyness.

Big tape sale, everything must go! Lots of stuff!
JoeDirt replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Well nobody's forcing you to buy... RAW tapes get sold on Ebay for a lot more than seven bucks all the time. And I don't see how seven dollars shipped for four RAWs is that crazy. -
Was Earthquake ever pinned by anybody on a televised WWF event? I can't think of any PPV or TV match where he was, though I know Warrior pinned him in a match that ended up on the Wrestlefest 1991 tape.
