This was also my favorite book in the series. I don't know how they're going to fit it all into two and a half hours, but a lot of the stuff at the start of the book they can skip or cut heavily, at least. The main plot with the Tri Wizard tournament and all that shit is golden.

I think Tyler Black is the Daniels trainee.

This show definitely has that "big" show feel to it. The exposure they got on WB and some people from Maxim there make things interesting. I really hope the show delivers. It should be exciting to see what happens.

Any reason why Yokozuna didn't have a match at Summerslam 1994? The card was already filled or something? Was there any real reason why Yokozuna wasn't really kept around the title picture after Wrestlemania 10? Considering he lost on a "fluke" and was a big monster heel, it's kind of weird that he never was kept in that level ever again or even got a real rematch with Bret.

A lot of people forget that the Steiners won the WWF tag team titles twice.

IWA Mid-South Wrestling, in association with NWA Midwest, returned to the Park District Rec Center in Midlothian, IL on Friday night, 5/6. Here's what went down... DAVE PRAZAK and CM PUNK opened the show. Prazak explained to the fans that the IWA World Heavyweight Title, Light Heavyweight Title, and World Tag Team Titles would be defended on the card. Ten wrestlers would participate in a battle royal to determine who would get the World Title shot at JIMMY JACOBS later in the night, with the order of elimination from the royal determining the undercard matches. PUNK would also challenge DELIRIOUS for the Light Heavyweight Title, and a three team tag match would determine which of three teams would get the shot at TRIK DAVIS & RYAN BOZ. Punk shared his memories of CHRIS CANDIDO with the fans of Midlothian, pointing out that he was originally scheduled to wrestle Chris on the show for Candido's NWA Midwest Heavyweight Title. Punk dedicated his match against Delirious to Candido, and the bell was rung ten times in his honor. 1. JOSH ABERCROMBIE won the ten man battle royal to earn a shot at JIMMY JACOBS. Abercrombie and DANNY DANIELS were the final two participants in the battle royal. Jacobs left the commentary table and approached the ring, getting involved to cost Daniels (who has never gotten a rematch since losing the belt to Jacobs) the title shot. Jacobs, dressed in a suit, then attacked Abercrombie and said the title match would begin immediately. 2. JIMMY JACOBS def. JOSH ABERCROMBIE to retain the IWA World Heavyweight Title following a low blow while the referee was out of position. 3. TYLER BLACK def. MATT SYDAL after Matt attempted a shooting star press, Black moved, and as Sydal landed on his feet, Black rolled him up for the three count. Black focused on the bad knee of Sydal for the duration of the match. After the victory, Black asked that the next time they meet, Matt put his NWA Midwest X Division Title on the line. 4. MARCO "Stylz" CORDOVA def. "The Human Rulebook" CHANDLER McCLURE to retain the NWA Illinois State Title. During the closing moments of the bout, JIM FANNIN and "Metalhead" STEVE STONE hit the ring on McClure. Fannin took the microphone and announced that since IAN ROTTEN is still on a European tour, he's in charge, and ordered that the referee put the Cordova/McClure match on "pause," and turn the match into McClure vs. Stone. Stone quickly scored the pinfall, followed by Cordova's match becoming "un-paused," and Cordova also scoring a fall on McClure. Such tomfoolery on the part of Fannin and Stone will no doubt be met with much protest when Ian returns to the country. 5. "The Iron Saints" VITO & SAL THOMASELLI def. "Underwear Model" ERIC PRIEST & SILAS YOUNG and BRANDON THOMASELLI & MAREK BRAVE in a three team Texas Tornado style falls count anywhere tag team match to earn a Tag Team Title shot. 6. TRIK DAVIS & RYAN BOZ def. "The Iron Saints" VITO & SAL THOMASELLI in a Texas Tornado style tag team match to retain the IWA World Tag Team Titles. 7. DANNY DANIELS def. "Fast" EDDIE VEGAS following a butterfly piledriver. 8. CHAD COLLYER def. TRACY SMOTHERS & "Outlaw" BILLY GUNN in a three-way bout. 9. DELIRIOUS def. CM PUNK in just over thirty minutes to retain the IWA Light Heavyweight Title. The two battled to a thirty minute time limit draw, just as punk had Delirious locked in the Anaconda Vise. After the match, both Punk and Delirious asked for five more minutes, and Punk asked the crowd "Would Candido want five more?" The bell rang once again to begin the overtime period. Delirious quickly went for a sunset flip on Punk, pulling the back of Punk's tights down on the way over, and scored the pinfall. NOTES: The event was filmed with two cameras by Smart Mark Video for home video release, with commentary by Dave Prazak, CM Punk, and Trik Davis... It was announced to the crowd that IWA-MS management has yet to confirm a new venue for the scheduled 5/28 date for "No Blood, No Guts, No Glory 2005." If a venue cannot be locked in within the early part of this coming week, an announcement will be made on the web site concerning a new date for the event (likely 6/18 at the Hammond Armory if that is the case). NWA Midwest will present an event on Saturday night, 5/7, at the Park District Rec Center in Streamwood, IL with the proceeds going to the Chris Candido Scholarship Fund. Visit www.midwestwrestling.com for more information on the show. IWA-MS returns to action on 5/20 in Salem, IN at the Armory, and 5/21 in Vincennes, IN at the Armory. We're back at the Armory in Valparaiso, IN on 5/27. www.iwamidsouthwrestling.com

Yeah I remember when Paul London was on the show they asked him to tell a road story and he laughed and asked "do I have to stay in kayfabe?" They quckly moved on.

Did Terry Funk explain in his book why he was Chainsaw Charlie in WWF in 1998 and not just Terry Funk?
-
Wow, over 1100 posts. So Ric Flair was supposed to face Curt Hennig originally for the US title at Starrcade 1997, right? So why was one of their most over babyfaces, DDP, going to be left off the biggest WCW show ever? That's mind boggling. Bam Bam Bigelow wrestled Tommy Rich at Clash 10 in June of 1990. How long was he in WCW for at the time? Clash 13 had Big Cat d. Brad Armstrong...who was Big Cat?

Hell, you should link our WCW tidbits thread.

Big tape sale, everything must go! Lots of stuff!

Last chance, everything needs to be shipped by this Thursday at the latest... -
Really, the I Quit match would make more sense between Rey and Eddie at this point. It's not like they can just have a regular match between the two now. I guess another street fight is in order. Sick spot on the steps at the end of the show, though I was worried he was going to do a brainbuster when he had Rey up in the air. Great stuff, I look forward to JD.

Mordecai was brought in as a heel counterpart to feud with Undertaker. Of course he never made it that far.
-
Test mentioned in his BTR interview last night that he was originally set to debut at the Rock Bottom PPV in December of 1998 and attack Big Bossman, helping the NAO retain the tag titles, and then join DX. They decided against it and put him in the Corporation instead.

Shocker vs. Sonjay should be good.

There is a lot of heat on Romeo Roselli of the Heartthrobs at the moment. There is a feeling among several that I spoke to that Roselli may be getting a little too much of an big head, which has led to him getting the cold shoulder backstage. Roselli recently attempted to get more money out of an independent promotion, Northeast Wrestling, with less than 24 hours before their show last Saturday in Bristol, CT. According to several, Roselli requested more money after being booked for several months because he was a TV star now. One source told me Roselli did so after being instructed to do it by his parents, which is laughable and sad if that is the case. Roselli also voiced complaints about the chances of getting injured the night before he was scheduled to debut on PPV. Now, while that is a valid concern, a number of wrestlers took that to be insulting to the veterans he was scheduled to work with, Mick Foley and Jerry Lawler. He looked doubly bad since Jonathan Coachman also worked the show sick (see below). Roselli was eventually replaced by King Kong Bundy at the indy date, and the real irony is that the show was run by promoter Mike O’Brien, who gave him his first indy dates when he was breaking in. The running joke I’ve heard is that Roselli was lucky he isn’t on the Smackdown roster where he would have to deal with the likes of JBL and Undertaker. There are a few people who wondered if William Regal and Tajiri may have worked snug with the Heartthrobs on the Sunday Night Heat taping this week to send a message to Roselli, as Antonio ended up with a black eye. As noted above, Jonathan Coachman has been suffering from either a bad eye infection or broken blood vessels in his eye. He was said to be in so much pain last wekeend that he hasn’t been able to drive. Since Coachman worked the NEW indy show and took a bunch of bumps for Mick Foley, Roselli looked even worse to many of the wrestlers as here was a non-wrestler gutting through pain and Roselli didn't work a show he was booked for months to appear on. Gangrel is signed to a WWE deal and has been down in Ohio Valley Wrestling training for his comeback to television. I’ve heard from one source he’s been signed for some time, but had been injured, which is why we haven’t seen him. Steve Richards is also down in OVW training to return from his broken nose suffered at the hands of Chris Masters during Masters’ Raw debut. --PWInsider.com

Looks like the WWE have confirmed Piper's return via WWE.com. It says that he'll be acompanying HBK to the ring to face Hassan at House Shows. http://www.wwe.com/schedules/events/WWE-RAW-061705.jsp http://www.wwe.com/schedules/events/WWE-RAW-052905.jsp The shows are in Portland and Victoria, BC, so it makes sense. I wonder if these are just one time deals, or if Piper's going to be back on TV before too long.

How many people slammed Andre the Giant in his career? Anyone other than Hogan and Warrior?

Don't be upset, they are really not very good at all. The main event and aftermath sounds really good.

They all have interviews. Also, Heidenreich has a poem for all you Heidenreich-lovers out there. Oh and Cena's new rap video.
