  1. The new belt is probably an angle to build to a Batista vs. JBL match at GAB or Summerslam, I'd have to guess.
  2. Velocity: 1) Scotty/Shannon vs. Garrison Cade and Trevor Rhodes (dark?) 2) Booker vs. Kidman 3) OJ vs. Nunzio 4) Rene Dupree vs. Patrick Rizer 5) Benoit vs. Akio (I think it's Akio) Smackdown: 1) Heidenreich vs. Mercury 2) Paul London vs. Chavo 3) Big Show vs. The next draft pick 4) Eddie vs. Rey
  3. Sorry to bump this, but has anyone heard how this show did as far as buys? Is that info out yet?
  4. Was there any particular reason behind having all heels in the KOTR semis? Why not use Kane or somebody like that?
  5. I was watching this again the other day and it's a really weird show. Now I know the original plan was an Austin vs. Taker rematch, but Heyman pushed for Jericho and Benoit to get added to the main event instead. So then we get four heels in the KOTR tournament. Maybe the original plan was Benoit/Jericho/Christian/Edge final four in the KOTR? Was Edge always the plan to win it? And why stick the IC champ Kane, hot off a PPV win over HHH in a meaningless tag match with the Dudleys? Also, was DDP always meant to be the stalker, or just another last second booking decision?
  6. Joe beat Necro and Jacbos retained the title...Iron Saints are new tag champs. I've been wanting to see Joe vs. Necro for a while...apparently it was 10 minutes of stiffness and Necro bled a bunch.
  7. Get stuff while you can...and if you're looking for VHS masters of several shows, I will be putting those on here soon. You can always PM me if you're looking for anything specifically and I'll let you know if I have it or not.
  8. I have a VHS if you're interested, but no DVD.
  9. Was there ever another plan to have the Greater Power be someone else? (Since somebody mentioned Vince was a last minute decision)
  10. I need to get rid of some tapes, so here's what's for sale. Prices are $7 shipped for one tape, $12 for two, and only $15 for three, in the U.S. PM me if you're interested in anything, and get it fast! All tapes are 1st gens except for the ones listed. I will be adding more down the road, so keep checking back and PM me quickly if you want anything.
  11. I remember this period in wrestling fondly, and I'm really sad that I missed so many RAWs and Smackdowns from 2000 and 2001.
  12. Why was Taker out from Rumble to Summerslam, again?
  13. I've never really gotten Hurricane, to be honest. I loved Shane Helms, but Hurricane...no. I really never got Warrior either, but I think that was more of him just being booked to be invincible, so the fans cheered him. He was pathetic on the mic and looked weak in the ring, though.
  14. I remember Rock saying to Terri "now bubble your on ass out of here" instead of "now bubble your ass on out of here." I have no idea why I remember that.
  15. Wow, look at all those short matches... I remember watching these shows. I believe Kane beat Test when Test tried a tombstone and Kane countered into one of his own, though I could have bad memory. And of course the classic greater power RAW...
  16. Sid asking to restart his promo. JR: "We're live, pal."
  17. I am selling these three shows on one tape. For full match listings go to www.prowrestlinghistory.com. You get Flair vs. Steamboat 2/3 falls, Flair vs. Funk I Quit and much more. It's a first gen tape. PM me with an offer to take it off my hands. Highest bid gets it. Bid ASAP. Thanks!
  18. Well, he did Byte This last night.
  19. It's on WWE.com. He's a goner.
  20. Stevie Richards: "If you think im afraid to face you in the cage...... YOURE RIGHT OH GOD I DONT WANNA DIE!!!
  21. I enjoyed early 2000 aside from the HHH/Rock feud where Rock won the title back by pinning Vince McMahon. Actually, that whole KOTR was a botch. But there were several good PPVs, and TV mixed good wrestling with pretty good storytelling. There seemed to be a good mix of wrestling and entertainment to keep the people into things. Whatever he was writing, it was noticeably better than when Stephanie took over and things really started to plummet. Oh, now that I think about it I didn't like the Vince McMahon turn at Mania and crappy explanation for it. So I really have to agree that it was more the wrestlers and characters who were selling things for the WWF at the time, and not really the angles. Maybe they really WERE riding the wave of Vince Russo!
  22. More than a rumor, it's been announced in the Minneapolis area.
  23. Well, much like everyone else in pro wrestling before there was such a thing as 'politically correct', if it made money - who cares? Akeem made money?
  24. Yeah, that's what I thought at first too. But don't expect too much offense from Jimmy in this one, as you might expect.
