    Homicide

I've seen Homicide get cheered a lot because he's so damn smooth and hard hitting in the ring, pulling out cool moves likes his tope con hilo. Of course in ROH he's a big heel, but still sometimes gets cheers. I guess he's sort of heelish but in a cool way so people cheer him.
  3. That's a LOT of wins on Velocity. He rarely ever loses on that show, but when on Smackdown it's a different story!
  4. No, he's not working ROH. He appeared at one show and apparently WWE wasn't happy about it, and he probably won't be back. We should get a list for Smackdown too. I guess I'm out of the loop but wasn't there a reported working agreement between WWE and ROH now? Gabe Sapolsky posted on the ROH boards "don't believe everything you read on the internet". I don't think there's any sort of agreement.
  5. This includes all televised matches in the U.S (doesn't count international Velocity), so it's Smackdown, Velocity, PPV, and Heat before a SD PPV. The cruiserweight gauntlet at No Way Out was counted as all separate matches. The double count out between Taker and Dupree was counted as a draw (not sure if it's a draw or a loss to both guys?) Smackdown records for 2005: Paul London: 13-3 Rey Misterio Jr: 11-4 Kurt Angle: 9-3-1 John Cena: 8-2-1 Hardcore Holly: 8-4 Booker T: 8-5-1 Eddie Guerrero: 7-7 Undertaker: 6-0-1 Doug Basham: 6-5-1 Charlie Haas: 6-5 Danny Basham: 5-3-1 Funaki: 5-6 Heidenreich: 4-5 Akio: 4-7 Big Show: 3-3 JBL: 3-3-1 Chavo Guerrero Jr.: 3-5 Scotty 2 Hotty: 3-6 Rene Dupree: 3-7-2 Mark Jindrak: 3-7-1 Akebono: 2-0 Orlando Jordan: 2-5 Billy Kidman: 1-2 Shannon Moore: 1-4 Kenzo Suzuki: 1-7 Luther Reigns: 1-9-1 Spike Dudley: 1-10 Carlito Carribbean Cool: 0-0-1 Marty Jannetty: 0-1 Daniel Puder: 0-1 Paul Heyman: 0-1 Rob Van Dam: 0-2 Nunzio: 0-8 Women: Amy Weber: 1-0 Torrie Wilson: 1-0 Michelle McCool: 1-1 Dawn Marie: 1-1 Joy Giovanni: 0-1 Hiroko: 0-1

  7. Who did Hassan lose to other than his DQ losses to Benoit and HBK? I knew Tomko/Christian's recent records were horrible. I can't remember the last time Christian got a big win. It's really too bad, but he's the midcard heel to put over the midcard babyfaces. Masters at 5-0 isn't really surprising...he's going to get a big push, and has all but one win against jobbers, mostly on Heat.
  8. I like Hassan on the mic a lot. He's clearly no stud in the ring but hopefully he will improve when he gets to work with Benoit, HBK, etc. We'll see. I liked the segment with Michaels tonight, and JR's selling of the beatdown as just heinous was great.
  9. The IC title match should be interesting. I excpect Benjamin to pin Christian with the T-Bone.
  10. This match would have made so much more sense with JBL retaining at Mania in some really cheap victory that kept Cena strong. It just seems to me to be a better match when the babyface challenger has to make the hated heel champion say "I Quit" to WIN the title instead of to retain it.
  11. Added Summerslam 1999 first gen.
  12. I would definitely NOT have Eugene get a pinfall over Hassan. The longer Hassan can play out his "I've never been pinned" thing, the better. And Eugene isn't ready to return to the ring yet, is he?
  13. Scherer is saying nothing was mentioned about those shows...so I guess we'll find out. USA used to show Heat, maybe they'll pick it up again.
  14. So are we going to see the return of Saturday Night Main Event?
  15. I just went back and rewatched a few parts of the show. One interesting thing was that before Hassan put Eugene in the camel clutch he did the "beheading" throat slashing signal. The Cena/JBL match was really bad, yes, but going back Cena's comeback was energetic and not THAT bad. I think the layout of the match was awful and was what killed it as JBL got in EVERYTHING in the first ten minutes. I put too much blame on Cena after watching it the first time. The ladder match and the Angle/HBK match were both simply phenomenal. Everyone was great in the ladder match but Benjamin really stole the show. I was really surprised there was only one backstage segment the entire night.
  16. Got this off the DVDVR boards, seems pretty legit and is no big surprise: "Just saw an ad on Fox Sports Midwest... HHH v.s. Batista II.. the "Battle for the World Heavyweight Championship rages on"" There ya go. So does Batista defend here and beat HHH twice in a row? Or do we have a screwy finish at Mania leading to him getting the belt here?
  17. Yeah, a lot of people on the ROH boards were really pissed. Apparently New Japan booked the tournament, and from the sound of things an ROH vs. NJPW angle might start.
  18. Any details on this? It sounds interesting.
  19. Just watching the TNA repeat and the Monty Brown interview with Mike Tenay, I was wondering... Would Monty Brown get over in WWE? Or is he just a big fish in a small pond that would be in way over his head in WWE? What do you think? It's entirely plausible that if TNA shuts down sometime in the near future that guys like Styles, Monty, etc would be up for grabs by WWE if they wanted him...would Monty make a big splash?
  20. He likes to say "seriously".
  21. Anyone want to explain the Piper Denny's thing to me?
  22. I don't think WWE have ever seen Meltzer in what could be called a friendly light. I think what changed the level of their dislike of Meltzer was when they were on a big downward slide, and they were looking to just about anything to get some idea of what to do to turn things around. At that point, they'd entertain ideas from just about anyone, including someone who they don't really like. So the rumor that Meltzer was unofficially on WWF payroll as a consultant in the past is false?
  23. I saw this old Wrestling Observer for sale on Ebay and in its description it said this: "A very historic issue!. Dave's battle with the WWF. This is a review of something that happened between Dave Meltzer and the WWE in 1987 that Dave had not published until this issue. This issue was dedicated to a few people but one of the dedications was: "To Frank Goodish (Bruiser Brody) who if he were alive today, would have a big smile on his face in around 15 minutes." The issue contains numerous letters by Dave, by WWE staff and others revolving around a touchy subject 10 pages well worth the price." So what was this all about?
  24. Just bumping this because everything has to go. I'm also going to add some more RAWs from 1999, from February - April if there's any interest in them.
