  1. The books are the works of Lemony Snicket. The basic idea is that bad things happen to kids. Repeatedly. I can't wait to see it. Oddly enough, my college roommate used to get compared to Jim Carrey until he shaved his head. Now that Carrey's bald in this movie, they look even MORE alike.
  2. This thread and the three it celebrates should be a requirement for all noobs. I'll be reading them for the next few weeks to try to improve my under developed sense of wit.
  3. But Yahweh is the Jew name and Jehovah is the Jeavoahs name. There is no Christian name for God which I think he might of meant. Actually, Jehovah isn't really a name for God, it's a mistranslation by nineteenth century German scholars. Yahweh is the name for God in all Judeo-Christian religions. With the exception of Jonathon Coachman, who believes God's name is "G."
  4. Me next, Me next! More like "The Last Free Voice" What have I ever done to you to deserve THAT? ANd if your answer is "Post," then I understand.
  5. Me next, Me next!
  6. Riiiiiight. Ok, then. Ignore that post....
  7. Of course it would. Wait until your house burns down, then wait for a sympathetic girl to give you the hand job. What's the point of your house burning down if you don't get a little something out of it?
  8. There are reasons we shouldn't post in HD. I think we just proved them.
  9. So you finally figured out WMD was cheating on you? You two finally hooked up, eh?
  10. wrestlingfigs.com ------------------------------------ Decent looking figures, but there is too much articulation. That and figures that come with "Action" usually break really easily. You obviously missed the biting sarcasm in my post.
  11. SURPRISE!!!! Jeff Jarrett comes with the world title!!!
  12. Well, I've been told.
  13. I'm kind of creeped out that YOU would think about it.

Give me a basic rundown so far...
  15. That's bad.
  16. When I was a kid, I actually used to like him. But now that I'm 22, his gimmick annoys me.
  17. There are plenty of those verses. They basically say that judgment is God's alone. Most people ignore them.
  18. Because he claims the moral high ground and says he has values -- LIAR... Here's the thing, I don't think swearing is bad. I know that it's a result of the Victorian culture and I don't agree with the logic connected to it. But my family, both sides, and a portion of "Conservative Christians" do think it's wrong, or pretend to. I don't quite know why, but they find it somewhere equivalent to murder and blasphemy.
  19. Well written, and as usual a "liberal" target for KKK and Mike
  20. I, for once, agree with UTSU.
  21. I feel lessened by this though I know you're joking.
  22. Okay, to clarify my previous point: The us vs. them mentality comes into play when discussing things such as "the liberal media." Lets use my mother in law as a demonstration: "Hey Kim, I read the other day that George W. Bush has a penchant for swearing. What do YOU think about that?" My Mother In Law-"What? That's ridiculous! They'll say anything to make him look bad." They being the liberal media. If you turn the situation around and place Kerry instead of Bush, this is the reply: "I'm not surprised. Democrats are horrible like that. You know, Kerry is anti-God." I actually had this conversation with her. I told her the Bush thing, which came from US News and World Report, and a week later switched the candidate. When it comes to a lot of Christians, if you tell them that you're with them, they'll believe most anything you say. To continue on with the topic of the thread, I believe that a lot of what has been said about Kerry in this thread is true for the whole party. Specifically that the Democrats have allowed the Republicans to define them. Basically, the Republicans have been aggressive and unrepentant about it, and the Democrats have stood still.

    Will this ever end?
  24. The religious vote is what made this election, hands down. The Republicans know how to play to this crowd. A majority of evangelicals have the "us vs. them" mentality. All it took was the spread of the term "Conservative Christian" over the past 10 yrs + and the Republicans have the vote of a majority of Southerners, and most of the Midwest as well. Democrats will have to find a way to get through that. And have more balls. REALLY. How many shots did Bush give Kerry that Kerry simply ignored? I can't count how many times Bush said something in the debates that opened HUGE doors for Kerry that he walked right past. We can't fuck around. We have to be dead serious about our politics, because the Republicans are. That and John Edwards was a wasteful effort at VP.
