What's the lamest topic Vampiro69 has created? What was Ric Flair's best match? Is Lita a skank?

I'll let Bored fill in the schedule. I wanted to start this up and post this. How is each team's top prospect doing? Let's start with a look at the National League, we'll hit the A.L. next week. Arizona: Jarrod Parker, RHP. 3-1 with a 1.05 ERA in six starts in low class A. 21 Ks against 4 BBs in 25.2 IP. Great pro start for a polished high school draftee. I am inclined to believe Parker will stay in South Bend, as the Diamondbacks' next highest affiliate plays in one of the most brutal pitching environments in the country. Atlanta: Jordan Schafer, OF. Suspended fifty games for violating MLB's drug policy. Chicago Cubs: Josh Vitters, 3B. Has only appeared in four games for Peoria, bothered by tendonitis and back in extended Spring Training. Vitters is just 18, so there is plenty of time and room for improvement. Cincinnati: Jay Bruce, OF. Hitting .328 in Louisville with a .565 slugging percentage and seven steals in as many tries. Banging on the door to the majors, just waiting for an opportunity. Colorado: Franklin Morales, LHP. Demoted after a putrid start with the Rockies, Morales joined three other pitchers in a no-hit effort just today for Colorado Springs. Control has gone south, as that no-hit effort included six walks in five innings, and Morales walked 17 in 25 MLB innings. Still young, but needs to harness control to succeed further. Florida: Cameron Maybin, OF. Low batting average in the Southern League, but showing plate discipline and power. Definate talent and on track, but not quite ready. Houston: J.R. Towles, C. Made the MLB Astros, but currently just hitting .156, albeit with some pop. Has begun to lose starts to Brad Ausmus. LA Dodgers: Clayton Kershaw, LHP. 1.08 ERA in the Southern League, striking out more than a batter an inning, has not allowed a home run and control has developed. Kershaw could wear Dodger blue by the All-Star break. Milwaukee: Matt LaPorta, "LF". .336 batting average with .688 slugging percentage in AA Huntsville. LaPorta has yet to be challenged at every level, he will soon land in Nashville and create a real issue for playing time. With Ryan Braun in left and Prince Fielder at first, the Brewers have no room. NY Mets: Fernando Martinez, OF. Struggling at AA Binghamton, but is still just 19 years old. Will probably end up repeating a level as he has not yet demonstrated pitch recognition at that level. Philadelphia: Carlos Carrasco, RHP. After a shaky stint in AA last year, Carrasco has upped his strikeout rate and cut his walks. Home runs are yet a problem, but Reading is a home run park. On track, but has struggled twice when promoted mid-season previously. Pittsburgh: Andrew McCutchen, OF. .373 OBP in AA for 21 year old. McCutchen is a leadoff hitter in the making, will likely assume that role for the Pirates by the end of the season. St. Louis: Colby Rasmus, OF. Another player making a slow start, Rasmus has hit just .193 in AAA. His plate discipline and power are yet intact, so this is just a blip on the radar. San Diego: Chase Headley, 3B. Hitting well at AAA Portland, Headley is waiting for an opening with the big club. The Padres have worked Headley at left field, but Headley remains while the club inexplicably gives a roster spot to Jody Gerut. San Francisco: Angel Villalona, 1B. Yet to hit at low-A Augusta. Villalona has a great deal of power potential and is just 17 yet. A long way away. Washington: Chris Marrero, 1B. See Rasmus. Playing at High A Potomac, has hit there previously and will advance to Harrisburg or Columbus sooner rather than later.

Considering I thought they'd be awful, it's a great start. I think the offense can hold up, but I doubt that pitching staff. Particularly with their infield defense. I'm more stoked that the Phillies haven't stunk early in the season.

Fernwood's a resort auditorium in my area. I attended my first live wrestling show there, a live Raw and taping in November of '93.

I should note that at some point, Crockett ran a brutal angle where the Horsemen attacked Morton and rubbed his face into the concrete floor, leaving his nose broken. That added heat and made it into a personal battle rather than simply a title bout. Morton would get his revenge eventually, the blowoff was Morton and Gibson beating the Andersons in a cage for the tag titles at Starrcade.

The umpires were correct and the Mets incorrect. If an improper batter makes an out and the opposing team appeals, the proper batter (Patterson) is out. Play continues with the next batter in the order, in this case Ross. Rule 6.07 (b) http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/downloads/y2008/off..._the_batter.pdf

What makes Jim Ross a good announcer is that he has an incredible ability to make a moment seem important, to add drama/excitement to a match. He has timing I have never seen duplicated by any other announcer.

Does it say Fernwood on a banner?

I'd say 5-10% at best involves booking matches and angles. Indy promoters need to locate venues, supply proper rings/equipment, advertise, book the talent and pay them, set up the necessary EMS coverage and satisfy other athletic commission requirements, figure out financials including tax payments and payroll, sell tickets, etc. It really is more business than fantasy booking.

Handicapping the final series. CENTRAL: Montreal has a one game lead with three left. The head-to-head is tied, so the second tiebreaker is run differential. Montreal is +19, St. Paul is +9. St. Paul will almost certainly need to overtake Montreal by two games to win. WEST: Anchorage has a one game lead on both Moreno Valley and Ohio. The Ohio Hellraisers have both the head-to-head and vs. division tiebreakers locked up, so they just need to tie someone to advance. Whoever wins the Anchorage/Moreno Valley series will guarantee a playoff spot. The Ohio Hellraisers need to win two of three to guarantee a playoff spot. Ohio holds all the tiebreakers, while Anchorage has lost the season series to both Ohio and Moreno Valley.

They got several main events on the '86 Great American Bash tour out of it, leading to the Flair/Morton cage match seen on the Horsemen dvd.

In addition to the planned updates, there's a Film Room program featuring matches involving Harley Race and Superstar Billy Graham. -
The Daisies are Eastern division champions! George Brett has been benched until the Playoffs to stay healthy.

Seven word bandit was a good gimmick.

The Sox' owner and announce team are horseshit. The players are fine and I think Ozzie Guillen is a capable manager. He's abrasive, but that's ok by me. I don't expect managers to be PR men, and some of the best were not exactly the type you'd invite to a dinner party.
-
And Czech, stop flaming. You don't like the Sox, we get it.
-
Oh well. Kudos to ESPN for sparing us and giving the Twins' feed.
-
Floyd definitely. He spent some time in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Pitchers sit in the stands charting pitches during games when they don't pitch, usually the next night's pitcher has the book. Often fans will recognize the players and talk to them or ask for autographs. Floyd was always accommodating, very polite. I always found it a bit unfair that Floyd struggles and Cole Hamels, who is a real jerk, thrived. As an aside, Floyd's only career shutout was the Aaron Rowand broken nose game. That was called after five innings. ESPN has the tv feed.
-
Yeah, baseball games are determined by what Czech posts on a message board.

I'm rooting for this one.

5-28. They won tonight. Brian Mazone is claiming the Steve Carlton award for winning four of those games.

Top 50 Stars of the Last 50 Years
EVIL~! alkeiper replied to EVIL~! alkeiper's topic in General Wrestling
On Eddie Guerrero: There are two problems with the AAA run. One is that his opponent was El Hijo del Santo, one of the greatest stars in the history of Mexican wrestling. If you can't draw against him, you can't draw against anyone. Second, after the run Guerrero didn't set the world afire as a huge star. He went to ECW and then on to the WCW midcard. Hardly their biggest star at the time. People get emotional about Guerrero, as I've well found out. This is not to discredit Eddie in any circumstance. There are just too many wrestlers on a higher level. What places Mysterio above him? Existing popularity, very popular among young fans. One way to know for certain though, does anyone have dvd sales figures of Guerrero and Mysterio's dvds? -
By the same token, the supply side would dictate that supply would increase along with price. OPEC has shown incredible restraint.
