  1. It wasn't on TV so it doesn't count, but they had a match at an MSG house show in late 2002 when Brock was WWE Champion and Triple H was World Champion. I remember the most random stuff... Almost. Lesnar/HHH was advertised for the show, but for some reason HHH pulled out and it turned into Lesnar against Team Angle in a gauntlet match. As I recall, the MSG crowd did not react positively to the change in card.
  2. I've certainly made a few points about this. It's one thing for Yankees/Red Sox games, but playoff games involving those teams are way too long as well. If a nine inning game lasts longer than 3 1/2 hours, someone on the field spent time jerking off somewhere.
  3. Meanwhile, I've won 12 of my last 14 games. I've opened up a seven game lead on the division. Still 69 games left though, lots of time in the season.
  4. Presuming both games started at 7.05 EDT, the White Sox and O's are in the top of the 8th, with the Red Sox and Yankees in the top of the 5th. ARE YOUSE TRYIN MAKE THIS PERSONAL WITH ME? How is it even possible for a game to go that slowly?
  5. A Mets' fan died at Shea Stadium yesterday falling from an escalator. Isn't a bit early in the season for suicide? At least give them til June.
  6. Michael Bourn's playing hurt and he still stole second. On a pitchout.
  7. 1981 seems like a really fun month for WWE. They had Backlund defending against Valentine, Stan Hansen, Don Muraco, among others. Sgt. Slaughter vs. Pat Patterson. Tony Garea and Rick Martel as a team. There's just lots of good stuff going on.
  8. This show is just the title rematch. The controversial title change match is the previous month.
  9. WWE really needs to give up on this Latino Legends month stuff. They've had about five latino wrestlers of merit in their history. Two of them were from Texas and one from San Diego.
  10. Judgment Day '04 is really a one match show.
  11. http://www.sunflowerbroadband.com/cable/on...ng/?network=wwe New schedule is up. I'll let you guys discover the good stuff for yourselves.
  12. I assume the incentives have something to do with innings pitched. Throwing in a Cy Young clause is possible, but beyond pointless.
  13. Adamle is not in a good spot. Even if he does a good job in the role, casual fans are going to shit on him because he's not Joey Styles.
  14. I'm the opposite of the princes of TSM hell. I really have no traumatic stories to tell. No drugs, don't drink, no sex abuse, never arrested.
  15. I assume he's the batting practice pitcher?
  16. If it's 9-5, and one runner on, the on-deck runner isn't the tying run. Guy on base, batter, on deck hitter, that's three.
  17. In regards to the naming rights question, here's something that is popping up frequently. Arenas/ballparks with the same or nearly the same name. Some examples: *If you want to see the Harrisburg Senators, head to Commerce Bank Park. Don't go to Commerce Bank BALLpark though, that's in Somerset, NJ. *PNC Park is the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates. PNC FIELD is home of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees. *First Energy Stadium is the home of the Reading Phillies. First Energy Park is the home of the Lakewood (NJ) Blueclaws. *The Wachovia Center is in Philadelphia, just across the parking lot from the Wachovia Spectrum. The Wachovia ARENA is up the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Wilkes-Barre.
  18. I agree with Deadspin's take. It's probably the result of someone higher up getting antsy that (relatively) lowly Bill Simmons landed Obama for an interview. It's ridiculous to think fans will get upset that they will get coverage they don't want on a podcast. You know how easy it is to change the channel? It's 100x as easy not to download. (BTW, please keep this discussion on topic. We don't need an argument over Obama's relative merits as a politician in this folder. If you feel like talking about that aspect, take it over to CE.)
  19. Default. The two sweetest words in the english language!
  20. I know it's a silly thread, but this is an area where threads are left open. Agent can step in if he feels differently.
  21. It's the Bulldogs/Islanders match where the Islanders and Bobby Heenan dognapp Matilda.
  22. This is a fairly interesting show. You have the Razor Ramon/Diesel stuff, with Jim Ross claiming their "appearance" proved it was not just a ratings ploy. The wrestling debut of Mark Henry, along with Bradshaw's PPV debut. Lothario/Cornette was awful, but at least short. Mankind/Michaels is still a classic. Was the giant poster a legit rib from Owen? It seems like something he would do.
  23. I never want to go to another dollar dog night again. It's tough to enjoy a game with your father when college students around you seem to casually drop the f-bomb every 30 seconds or so. It's disgraceful. I left after the eighth inning because I simply could no longer tolerate the atmosphere.
