I watched this on DVD last night.. I wasn't as impressed with it as everyone else, but it was a decent movie. One plus I had was that I like ambiguous endings for the most part in this type of movie, as its better than what usually happens (killer is dead, happy ending for everyone! yay!)

I heard somewhere he won in the National Silver Gloves tournament (10-15 year olds) but I cant find anything from 1988-1993 about the tournament to verify so who knows. And I know that the WWF's 103-1 record with 102 KOs is flat out lie, but Burke himself claims 98-1, but its almost impossible to verify that either which is why I mentioned it in the very first post I made earlier today on it. And I happen to like him as a wrestler, but he doesnt really do anything anymore on ECW and I figure its probably not too long before he's off TV at the rate he's going, especially with Kofi "Im always happy mon" Kingston and Shelton on the ECW roster.

Costanzo isn't in the yahoo player pool but he's the guy to want to get..

I dont get why saying Burke could at least hang with Mayweather for a couple rounds is such a crazy thing. Its not like I was crazy to say something like "Burke would obviously KO him 30 seconds into the first round" or something equally obsurd. I dont see how him hanging in for 4 rounds with Mayweather would be impossible..and it would make Mayweather look bad because Burke would never be called a former amateur boxer by anyone covering it, and if Mayweather can't beat a pro wrestler in the first round, then everyone would surely be going "OMG, he must surely not be as great as we all think he is".

I got stuck in a black screen on the Subspace thing as Fox and had to exit..I was in a little room but I couldnt move out of it and everything was black.

How is a group of people using the pronoun "we" to describe themselves sad? "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." Hmm.

A pro wrassler with 100 fights of amateur boxing experience. Its not like Im saying lets dig up Bart Gunn and try that again.

I wish MD would go open in their primaries since I couldn't vote as a registered independent.

Are you actually suggesting that Burke could even hang for one second with Mayweather in a boxing ring? I don't know if that's what you are saying or I just read it wrong, but that would be one of your most idiotic statements yet. Id take bets on Burke being able to last at least 4 rounds with Mayweather which would make him look bad "Hey look, it took Mayweather 4 rounds to beat a wrestler in a boxing match..Haha" Burke has amateur experience and a pretty good record (given vs not so quality talent) but I do think he could at least last 4 rounds with him before getting knocked out.
-
Elijah Burke was officially 98-1 (not 103-1 like WWF says) as an amateur boxer. I know it probably wasnt against top notch talent, and Im not saying hed win, but he'd probably make Mayweather at least look bad before getting knocked out. Thats why it would never happen, because even if Mayweather knocked him out, if he's made look bad by a wrestler in a "real" boxing match then it would be worse for him than if he actually lost.

I feel bad for the next black/woman candidate to run in a future Presidential Election. They wont get the same bump as Obama/Hillary are getting just for being black/ a woman and if either of them screw up huge (a given) everyone will go "see, I told you that a black man/a woman couldnt handle the Presidency"
-
Glenn Beck endorsed Condoleezza Rice today as a presidential cadidate he would vote for. Im guessing being black and being a woman equal out and she'd never stand a chance huh..oR would it because of something else?

Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

this was from a couple days ago: Hollywood is in for a surprise as Indy 4 probably wont even do $200 million and thats being very generous. This year is more about quantity of decent movies coming out than singular blockbusters of last year. My sleeper movie for being a bigger hit than Indy 4 would be Will Smith's Superhero Movie Hancock that comes out 4th of July weekend (Will Smith + Superhero movie + 4th of July Weekend = huge blockbuster) but there are several others that probably will do better than Indy 4. -
In terms of realism they could play up Elijah Burke's boxing background and have him do the run-in. It could give him a hotshot to the upper midcard for next year (assuming anyone in management cares about him). The feud writes itself and they can do some more worked boxing/wrestling/mma stuff that might actually be entertaining with two actual wrestlers. I would be more interested in Burke/Mayweather than Show/Mayweather, but the fact is Im willing to bet the Mayweather camp would be too worried that Burke might make Mayweather look bad in boxing related stuff (if Burke is as good of a boxer as he's been hyped up being prior to wrestling) so I doubt that will happen. Plus Burke is a heel still and since they panicked and turned Mayweather heel I dont think it would work.

I liked this part: Well, probably because his grandmother was the one he was replacing and its a feel good story. His faith will get dragged out a beat on repeatedly as an issue in the regular elections and theres no way he'll win a chance to serve any more than the remainder of his grandmother's term.

I got an email saying that the greatest Wrestlemania superstars DVD thing that Wal Mart has is going to be aired in some select theatres. That might be interesting to see on a big theatre screen.

So obviously by that it would seem as if a lesser experienced candidate would be the way to go, though I hate being the one to note that 2 of the 4 in the least were assassinated.

Romney only had a few % points lead in the polls and there wasn't much seperation between him and Giuliani, Mccain, Huckabee and Thompson in any of the polls, especially considering you could look at certain polls and see any of the other 4 ahead going into actual voting. So I find it really hard to consider him a front runner with like 25% of the GOP poll votes. Thats not a front runner, thats a guy who's in the lead because the party vote is split in several directions. "I only disagree with you because I'm redefining the word 'front-runner' to mean what I want it to instead of defining it as the guy who has more votes and delegates than anyone else (a.k.a. the actual definition)." -Marvin Romney had ZERO voes and delegates when he was the supposed front runner because they hadn't even started voting yet so I dont see how he fits the actual definition. I was going to give you he was a front runner for the last quarter of 07 but if thats the definition of front runner than there wasn't a front runner at all at that point. And when the primaries started he was 2nd in Iowa and 2nd in New Hampshire and never held the most delegates even when he managed to win insignificant states like Utah. You might want to look up which Republican won Wyoming and had the early lead in delegates. Just because the media decides not to cover some of the contests seriously, doesn't mean they didn't happen. EDIT: I see you added Wyoming to "insignificant states". Why exactly is it insignificant? Because Glenn Beck and the rest of the mainstream media say so, or because it saves your claims about Romney not ever having the lead? Wyomings republican primary got almost no coverage and was on a Saturday night and no one was talking about it on monday. I remember being pissed off that it was being ignored cause Romney won it too, which shows how much of a front runner he was that he couldnt even get any airtime about winning the 2nd contest of the election.. To be fair, I also so totally forgot he won Michigan which was an important state, so for 4 days from January 15-19, Mitt Romney was a front runner after winning Wyoming and Michigan. So I so totally apologize for being wrong about Romney not being a front runner since he was one for 4 whole days.

Ok, so Romney had a couple of % points lead in the GOP over the last 4 months of 2007 but Mccain quickly erased that when actual voting started, so what good did being a front runner do for him? Maybe he was a front runner but not when it actually counted like Obama is right now, which was the whole point of Superjerks post with Romney's picture.

The only way the Terps get in the tourney is if they beat BC, Clemson and Duke and get to the ACC Finals (they wouldnt have to win the tournament though). Otherwise they'll be going to the NIT again, ugh.

I hope BDV wins just to see the reinforced ladder they'll have to build to hold him

Romney was never a front runner.
